Thank you Ange for making my day and for the great experience! Haven't been into a Claire's in over a decade. I wanted To buy a belly ring somewhere downtown that didn't requireGoingTo a Tattoos or piercing store because they usually jack their Prices up which all the hype of titanium piercing. thankfully Claires had a store was in close proximity of my hotel and while there a HUGE body jewelry display. *cue music and gates Of heaven opening .. wish more people would know about this cute little store and the wide range of fun selections. I had a superb time and very pleasant conversation with Ange. Very cool chick made My day speaking to her about local attractions and towns to tour. Turns out she had a sis living in my hometown so it was nice to share stories and have so much in common.

I like coming to Claire's for all of my accessories needs. They often have sales like buy one, get one that is normally a good deal. It's a very small store packed with all kinds of neat trinkets. There is a ton of accessories to peruse and the workers here are very friendly and helpful. But at the same time, they don't follow you around like you are a criminal, making sure you aren't shoplifting. There is a ton of cute jewelry, purses, hair accessories, etc. It is mostly trendy things geared towards the younger crowd but I think that you can find something here if you are toddler or 80 years old if you just look around. Great and friendly customer service for a hectic day of errand running made-up for what we delt with in Macy's. Whatever the occasion, I'm sure Claire's will have the accessories that will spruce up your outfit and take it to the next level! Maybe Claire's and Macy's should switch stalls. . . That would be awesome. :)

After patronizing this place for a while, I was asked not to come back to this store. Naturally I was curious as to why they would do this to a repeat customer. I was told that I had made an employee uncomfortable- by flirting with them!! I was gobsmacked as to why anyone would think that. I'm a talker- I talk to everyone I meet the same way, but this person thought I was flirting with them. Perhaps they have too much main character energy to think that. Perhaps they found my chattiness annoying- not everyone is going to be delighted by me- but why, WHY would they not just tell me they were busy and couldn't talk? Did they feel they were being held hostage? I saw Standard Goods as a neighborhood spot. Keep in mind I wasn't camping out at the store; I'd say my average visit was -20 minutes, and I wasn't there frequently. This just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm forced to consider the possibility they felt ill at ease around me due to my disablity- I'm legally blind and my eyes look different, some people aren't comfortable with that that's their problem. Even if that's not the case, it still really hurt when they asked me not to come back. What is this, high school? Yes, I cried. They made me feel like my presence was a nuisanc. It left an impact. question whether people want me around. There were so many other ways they could have dealt with it and at the same time keep in mind that I was a customer with feelings. I get the distinct sense that they don't care about customers or the community. It's good for managers to take their employees' concerns seriously- Just not like this. Maybe they are extremely nonconfrontational, yet there must have been another way to addrss this without banning me from the store.

After a number of emails back and forth, they were not able to send me the original mailing receipt which is required to file a claim with USPS, so it seems unlikely I'll get anything from the claim anyways. They even gave me a "tip" that I should look into getting a secure mailbox, as if that would prevent an empty box from being delivered in the first place. In the end, I spent $140 for a box with nothing more than tissue paper and promotional material. Oh, did I mention they generously offered to send me the products again if I pay 60% more than I already paid? Thanks, but definitely not going to throw more money in your direction only to lose it again. Update: Just to clarify, this is not a case of mailbox theft...I was physically delivered an empty box by the carrier. There is always risk involved with shipping, and as the shipper, it's your responsibility to ship in a way that reasonably reduces risk and puts shipping liability on the carrier. Since you put more than $100 of your product in a box that's only covered for up to $100, you put the risk on the customer. I can't possibly be refunded now. You also could have reduced risk within reason by not advertising on the outside of the box that there is jewelry inside.
