Blueberry soft serve
Lauren G.

We stopped here on a Sunday night. It was busy but the line moved fast. I tried the blueberry soft serve. It honestly didn't have a lot of flavor. It tasted mostly like vanilla. Also, I can't remember how much it was but this place is expensive for below average ice cream.

Was told that CJ's was the place to go for a blueberry soft serve in bar harbor! The line moved very fast and it's cash only so don't forget to bring money. Overall I was very impressed by how the blueberry soft serve tasted so fresh and like I was eating fresh blueberries by the handful! I will say why the flavor was amazing, I felt the texture could've been a bit creamier, as it was a bit icy. I do understand how it may be a bit difficult to achieve a better consistency, considering how many fresh blueberries they must use!

This cash only establishment was not as flashy as some of the other ice cream shops but my party and I loved it so much that we went back twice! The scoops are huge so be forewarned. The flavors are a mix of classics and some unique but the ice cream was full of ingredients and creamy!

We stopped in for theirs fresh blueberry soft serve and it was to die for! The service was friendly and helpful. Warning it's cash only but totally worth it!

Visited Memorial Day weekend and CJ's was very busy all weekend, but the lines moved quickly because there were lots of staff working. We tried the hard ice cream and soft serve and liked both. I was pleasantly surprised by the blueberry soft serve! It tasted like real blueberries and had pieces of fruit mixed in.

CJ's is a great ice cream parlor in downtown Bar Harbor. Everyone here is very friendly and crack jokes, despite serving many people very quick. I had the cookie dough and raisin ice cream and it was excellent! My son had the black raspberry and he liked it very much as well. I also liked how even though it was July, the cones were not leaky at all. I definitely recommend this location for ice cream if you are in Bar Harbor.

Really enjoyed the ice cream here! Got hard Moose Tracks and soft serve blueberry. Only takes cash (deduct a star). Even though large line it moves FAST. Pretty expensive ice cream though, but great variety.

After 11 years, the blueberry ice cream sandwich is still delicious!

Was at CJ's big dipper 11 years ago and had the blueberry ice cream sandwich. Went back again now and it's still as delicious as ever. Great place wonderful staff. Maybe I'll be back in another 11 years.

Overall, a great experience at CJ's Big Dinner in Bar Harbor. While it's a little bit touristy, I'd say just lean into it and enjoy the treats! The menu is EXTENSIVE for an ice cream shop. They have so many scooped flavors (including several blueberry ones), soft serve, shakes, and the list goes on. We were happily surprised with big scoops and very tasty ice cream. It tastes like a homemade ice cream, and has a lovely texture. The line may look long, but I will say it moves along quite quickly. There's a few tables on the side of the building, which are nice to sit at and enjoy. Be warned they're a cash-only location, but given that I would say the prices and location it's worth the trade off. I'd happily come back to this place for another round.

We have been to CJ's twice while visiting Mount Desert Island, and had a pleasant experience both times. One of the staples for us was the dairy free almond milk soft serve. Our orders came fast, and the sizes are reasonable. It's a cute, fun little shop on one of the corners of Main Street and is not far from a parking lot.

It's a picturesque quaint shop on Main Street. It is cash only but I feel like they give you a decent amount. Service was really fast but there was only one other person in the shop when I went. I got the blueberry soft serve and it was good. It was sweet which I liked but it had what I would call seeds in it. I wish it was just 100% smooth. Would I get it again? Probably not only because blueberry isn't my favorite flavor. Would I recommend trying it at least once, yes!

"Coffee" & Brownie ice cream

Looked so cute on first glance. Love a good ice cream shop - but this was a total disappointment, customer service was subpar. They don't allow flavor trials. Fine. Went for the coffee and brownie in a waffle cone. Took one bite and realized there was no coffee to be found and the brownie was super stale. Spoke to the clerk about it- one would think they would remedy this quickly. The response I got "you can buy another one" Flavor misrepresentation combined with no taste testing, adding on refusal to make it right. I would give it a 0 if I could. Steer clear.

Super cute ice cream place that always has a line; however the line moves quickly. There's a ton of flavors including chocolate, vanilla, and wild Maine blueberry soft serve (you can swirl chocolate or blueberry with vanilla as well). The flavors are on a chalkboard outside the shop but if you're unsure what they are you should try to peek around before you're called up to order because it's a bit of a madhouse inside and they don't do samples. We got blueberry soft serve, Maine Black Bear, and Double Fudge Brownie and thought all were good.

Nasty service. Fair ice cream. With all the choices and great places in this wonderful community, you can certainly do better.

We had ice cream. It was nothing special. Maybe I'm spoiled because I'm from Wisconsin, but this was no Cedar Crest...

There is something about the smell of this place that makes it hard to resist treating yourself. It certainly doesn't help my sugar addiction, but I'm not complaining! The blueberry ice cream was fantastic, and the brownie ice cream was equally delicious. I'm also a huge fan of their Fudge Death by Chocolate, which is always a favorite. The blueberry fudge was ridiculously good, and the peanut butter and chocolate combination is another winner. Their candy selection deserves some recognition, too. The chocolate-covered blueberries are amazing, and the chocolate clusters are wonderfully rich and decadent. There is such a great variety of treats that it's hard to narrow down what to get. What I love most is that the entire experience feels like a treat. Between the wonderful aroma, delicious flavors, and impressive selection of sweets, this shop never disappoints. It's easily one of my favorite places to satisfy a sweet tooth, and I always leave happy. Five stars, without a doubt!

The person helping us was not the most friendly and we felt like it was more important for him to talk to a co-worker than us, the customer. I ordered the Irish mudslide and she ordered the blueberry. $18 for two ice creams in two cups. We went outside to sit on a bench and both realized that our ice cream was pretty bland...as in no flavor. How can blueberry ice cream have no flavor?? Save your money and go to another ice cream place.

The Stadium earned its 5 star review!…read more We were absolutely exhausted (in the best way) after a full day of hiking Acadia, and need me a pick-me-up before our sunset hike and dinner. When we checked out Yelp and saw the love for The Stadium, we knew we had to check it out. The best part about it was the abundance of lattes and other coffee options. We had fluffernutter and chocolate peanut butter flavored lattes, but were also on the fence about the pumpkin spice latte, the s'mores latte, and a few other flavors too. There was also massive cookies that we didn't get the chance to try. But, we'll almost certainly be back again tomorrow. These coffees were awesome!

They're absolutely delicious when still warm and fresh out of the oven and they bake them pretty much all day, so they're just about always fresh. One of my favorite ways to enjoy them over the years was to get the maple butter and blueberry jam and mix the two. The flavors of the butter, maple and blueberry all complimented the savory flavor of the popover. However, this year I was disappointed to see that they no longer are offering the maple butter, even for an upcharge. Please bring this back, it really took the popovers to another level! Maybe whip it into thawed butter instead of hand mixing it to make it easier? The whipped butter is easier to dip in and spread anyway. The new pre-packaged / mass produced butter packs take away from the appeal of a freshly-made popover. Sometimes in the morning it can be a little crowded in here with people waiting for their coffee / drinks to be made by a counter not far from where you place your order, so if you're walking in and haven't ordered yet then check if the people standing around are just waiting on coffee or waiting to order. It would be a nice improvement to see some separation (maybe with some ropes or floor markings) to make it more clear who is in line to order and who is waiting for their beverage to be made. It's worth noting it's takeout only and there's nowhere inside to sit, but there are some benches just outside on the sidewalk where you can have your popover and coffee.
