STAY AWAY! I…read morecontacted Absotemp because my air conditioner broke -- right before a heat wave. I was told that there was a service charge of $90 and was given a 4 hour window. Matt, apparently the owner of the company, came a few minutes after the end of that window, a couple minutes after 4:00 p.m. (BTW, he smelled of pot.) When he got here, he asked what the problem was & I explained that the air conditioner wasn't working. He immediatey went to the furnace. I told him I wasn't having trouble with the furnace, it was the air conditioner. He then proceeded to tell me that they are connected, my furnace is old and inefficient, and possibly dangerous. He spent a lot of time looking at it and taking pictures. He then got a phone call and was gone for about 15 minutes. He came back and continued explaining to me about the different kinds of furnaces. I reminded him that I called him about the air conditioner. He asked what kind of thermostat I had and then he finally went to look at the air conditioner. He said that was old as well (both were probably original and from the 1970s), but he couldn't figure out when. He called someone about tracing the model, but they couldn't do it either. He then came back into the house & said he'd go into his truck and write up an estimate. An hour and a half later, I went outside to see if he was still here. All of his prices were really high. And again, it was AIR CONDITIONING repair that I contacted him about. After he asked if I had any questions, I said, "I asked you to come out because of the air conditioning. Can you do anything about it?" He huffed and went outside. He came back in after a couple minutes and said that it was the motor fan and "There's nothing I can do about, it Sweetie." :O (That was the second time he called me that!) When I asked if he had any suggestions, he said "Stay in the basement." It was not said with humor. He then asked for a check ("or an ACH") -- AND HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING except waste nearly 4 hours of my time. I had 3 other companies come out after that. Not a single one charged for an estimate, they didn't take ridiculous amounts of time, and they didn't try to oversell me. Needless to say, I chose a different company.

I told Devin that I like taking baths, but I wash my clothes and run my diswasher all at the same time. I told Devin that I can never fill my bathtub to top with hot water. Devin looked at my water heater and told me that I do need a new water heater. Devin suggested that I get a 50 gallon water heater. I was flabbergasted! 50 gallons! Wow! I have never had a 50 gallon water heater! Devin told me that if I get a 50 gallon water heater, that I'll be able to run the dishwasher and the washing machine, and still be able to fill the bathtub to the top with hot water. Really? To the top?, I said. Well what about the added cost for heating a bigger tank, I asked Devin. Devin told me that peace of mind from being able to take a hot bath and run all the other appliances at the same time will far outweigh the added cost of heating up 10 extra gallons of water--which wont cost that much more. Well, Devin was right! Now I can wash my clothes, wash my dishes, and lay in my filled-to-the-top with hot water bathtub relaxing and lustening to thebother apoliances working too. And Devin was right--the added cost of heating only 10 extra gallins of water can hardly be seen in my bill. Oh! And one more thing: Devin is the nicest repairman that has ever been in my house. Whenever I have a plumbing problem in my house, I will be sure to ask for Devin Stempien every time. I even tried to give Devin a $50 tip. He told me to keep that $50 and spendbit on my grandchildren. That was nice of him. Thank you, Devin. I hope that anyone who has a pmumbing problem has Devin Stempien there to repair it. Devin is soooo nice!

Frank came to my home to assess the issue, and I was charged $309 due to weekend service surcharges. I have a newborn baby at home, so being without heat was not an option. Before Frank left, the furnace appeared to be working, but the same issue returned later that day. I contacted the company again on Sunday and was instructed to reset the furnace and told a technician would return Monday. The reset did not fix the problem, and I never received any follow-up calls or service afterward. As a result, I had to hire a separate company to resolve the issue. I later requested a refund but was only issued a partial credit for a humidifier pad. My furnace was never properly repaired, and the lack of follow-up or accountability after I had already reached out multiple times is completely unacceptable. I expect a full refund for the incomplete service and poor communication.
