Bob from Accu-Temp came out to service my furnace. He is incredibly knowledgeable and honest with his business. I felt comfortable that what he was telling me was the truth. He took the time to look at my furnace, hot water heater and even took a few minutes to look at the exhaust from my gas fireplace. This guy is amazing and his company is top notch. His colleague Jason has come out previously for service and he's awesome as well.
I called Accu-Temp after having a service visit with another company - One Hour Heating. I got roped into One Hour Heating's $20/month 'membership' that provides a service call per year in Furnace, Plumbing & Electrical. Seems like a good deal on paper. What I didn't realize is that is just a way for them to get in the door to try and sell you another system or piece of equipment you don't need. DO NOT WORK WITH ONE HOUR HEATING.
STICK WITH BOB AND THE ACCU-TEMP CREW. Not only is One Hour Heating not licensed in Brighton, they are performing unethical business practices. I cant speak on the other two companies that make up their three part deal (Ben Franklin Plumbing & Mr. Sparky Electrical) but I believe those two are guilty by association. I had a serious issue with an encounter with One Hour Heating in Brighton. They came out for a service call, as part of my $20 monthly package for service. They told me my heat exchanger was cracked and that it was very important that I replace it as soon as possible. Their sales rep then got on the phone and tried to get me an appointment that same evening. They're trying to create urgency and fear. I've been in sales for 12 years, I knew it was a racket Needless to say my bullshit alarm started going off. I delayed the appointment so that I could have time to call Accu-Temp for a 2nd opinion.
I was please when Bob from Accu-Temp came out and informed me that my furnace (even though it's 23 years old) was in fine working condition. He told me it would be quite obvious if there was a cracked heat exchanger. The flames would be going in all different directions, and the house would not be heating properly. Not to mention the heat exchanger sensor would have gone off and shut the furnace down.
I believe that One Hour will try to sell you on fear to get you to buy a new furnace when you don't really need one. Stay away from them. Call Accu-Temp, I can't recommend them higher. Too bad I can only give 5 stars. read more
