To start- we had Jason come out for a quote. We had several items ranging from adding new outlets, to adding recessed lights in a few rooms, adding a 20 amp circuit, and various other items. Jason was great, and made everything seem like it was going to be seamless. A few weeks later (after a few other quotes), we decided to go with Don's. They were local, and comparable in price to the others (~$3500). Upon calling to move forward, we find out Jason wasn't with them anymore. Not enough to scare us off, so we proceeded. We were going to have the items completed over the course of three visits, at 4 hours each (2/11. 2/12, finishing on 2/15). The problems begin day one. The window was 12-1 show up time, and my wife calls at 1:15 to inquire where they are, and is told they will be there any minute. Finally showing at 1:45, claiming they had to go get their truck since the van they drove wasn't going to make it up the driveway. Apparently, there was supposed to be another person with him, but they 'threw their back out.' End of day one result: 2 outlets finished only- along with a request to shovel the end of a specific side of our two entry driveway- ok, annoying, but we obliged. We are unsure how you can work in a relatively rural area on the regular, and claim to not have trucks, when we drive by the Davisburg office every day, and there's at least one Silverado that has the same logos/info as all the other vehicles..... Leaving us feeling misled. Day two: They park fine, then take it upon themselves to use the other side of the driveway, and proceed to get stuck, and chew up part of the lawn. Upon being questioned, the response was, 'yea, we shouldn't have gone that way.' Mind you- it's not like we have a crazy Amazon adventure driveway, and there wasn't major snow. Day two result: 2 COMPLETED outlets, 1 partially finished outlet (cut too big, and left open- despite us having a 19-month old running around), 4 recessed lights installed (one of which doesn't work as it should), and a light switch (left open) that was cut too big. Day three (prior to snowstorm on Tuesday): No show at all for the 12-1 window(after claiming they intended on showing up early) . We receive a call at 12:45 claiming they couldn't make it up our driveway- which I questioned because there were no tracks indicating an attempt was made. Regardless, they wanted to reschedule to Saturday (today), but with the stipulation that we must have the driveway plowed- again, prior to the snowstorm. At this point, we have become frustrated due to the seemingly never ending problems. I spoke with the person at the office about our frustrations on Tuesday (2/16), we were told that the frustrations were something that needed to be discussed with the GM, and that he was unavailable at the moment, but would call us back. It is now Saturday, and here we are with no answers or anything. No calls, no nothing. So here we are holding the bag with incomplete work, and ready to just call somewhere else to FINISH the mediocre work that actually has been done, but to actually complete the rest of the work that was expected to be done (the biggest portion of course). Customer service is clearly an issue with these people. Issues are not swiftly taken care of, and it's certainly the customer's perception that THEY DO NOT CARE. read more

Costco had directed them to me, so I have been trying to get a quote for a generator installation. This process started over 2 years ago. I've called them and scheduled appointments three different times. They have showed up each time but never provided a quote. Every time I call them back, they say they need to come out 1st. This last time, they came out and then after I did not receive a quote I was told they needed to come out again to confirm something. The same person who came out for the 2nd quote attempt came out (apparently the General Manager - Owners son) Once again still waiting over a month for the quote. When I called again, they said they would get back with me ... They did not, even after I specifically stated I wanted to be called back the same day regardless. When I tried calling back just after 4PM, the message said they were closed. Their hours say they are open until 4:30PM. If they don't want to do the job, just say so and I will request Costco to assign a new company. The process and communication is good up until they come on site to perform an estimate. After that, I've heard nothing and they provide no explanation of why they did not provide a quote. Disappointed with this company and disappointed with Costco for having a company like this represent them. If they ever provide a quote, I'm concerned I will have the same issues with the installation. read more

We called for an installation estimate for a home generator in February, 2022. An appointment was made; a young fellow named Jason showed up timely, claiming to be part owner and eldest child of father Don, looked at the house, went through our options with us and then sent us 2 quotes via email the next day. We read the quotes, had several questions, all of which have been unanswered as no one from Don's Electric has been in contact with us since the quotes were made several weeks ago. We don't know what to make of this behavior, especially as we were told by Jason to call at any time if we had questions. A rating on their communication skills would have to be zero. As far as anything else, we don't know. read more

Just purchased a new standby generator. I was silently concerned that it would take forever to deliver and install . Nope not so . I had a few quotes and had Don's come out . Nice no pressure quoteand no upsell . I told myself to get a little more power . The crew of 2 were here on time and they explained everything in detail . Install took about 3.5 hours maybe 4 . They cleaned everything up and left . Office staff is super sweet and the guys were top notch at their work . I can barely hear it run and nothing vibrates when it's on. I've yet to need it, but it's great peace of mind to have it. I am very happy I made the call . Oh if it quits running or has a fault it automatically messages the company to come out and repair it . read more

I don't know what's happened to Don's Electric, they used to be really good. However, their service guy, Jason, provided a quote for a whole home Generac generator on 9/23/22. I have left 3 messages for Jason and no one ever calls. He's always "On the phone", or "Just left the office." Makes me question the level of support I'd get during a real emergency!!? read more

I have contracted with Don's Electric for a number of years now. By far they have to be one of the best subcontractors I have dealt with. The Office Assistant (Angie) has been my go to person anytime I needed something and I give her 5 stars. Her customer service is by far the best. She responds expeditiously and I assume with a smile even though I never met her but over the phone. I trust the owner should recognize the value of this young woman. The electricians and service techs are fantastic. They stand behind their work and are also very timely. The last project they did was to install a whole house generator and did a great job. I scheduled electric work to be done at my new home weeks in advance. I took the day off so I could be there when they arrived and had everything set. They called me THE MORNING OF the appointment to tell me my address was actually outside their service area and they were not going to come do the work. I am so frustrated and upset at the lack of professionalism. If your company made a mistake in scheduling either catch it ahead of time or honor it. Now I have to find another electrician and wait a month or more because theyre all booked up. read more

We paid a lot of money to have a generator put in.Im handicap and I found out my garage lights didn't work. They came out no estimate they did 10 minutes worth of work then after they were done they said that would be 200 dollars.They tried blaming me that it was my fault for the problem.
