Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short compared to many other escape rooms we have played. My group has completed every escape room in Charlotte, along with numerous rooms in other states and several overseas, so we have a broad basis for comparison. One of the biggest issues was the size of the rooms. They felt cramped and crowded, and while the advertised capacity may be higher, the rooms seem best suited for two to four players at most. The puzzles were also frustrating at times. Many of the clues felt overly convoluted, and the room lacked a clear sense of progression. Rather than flowing naturally from one puzzle to the next, the challenges often felt disconnected and lacked cohesion. The game management also impacted our experience. We were told that the game masters were monitoring multiple rooms simultaneously, which appeared to contribute to delays. At one point, we successfully completed a piano-based puzzle multiple times, but nothing happened. After repeating it several times, a game master finally noticed and advanced the puzzle. Situations like this can be particularly frustrating when time is limited. Overall, Escapology Charlotte offers attractive themes and creative room designs, but the small room sizes, inconsistent puzzle flow, and game-master oversight issues detracted from the experience. With some refinements, it could be a much stronger escape room destination.

We asked for a couple hints and they were very helpful! 2) We loved the decorations! They were really cool! It was very immersive! 3) We escaped! (Barley lol) ( I think we had 1 min left ) (You can find our chip in the escaped box lol) 4) You really had to use your brain and your whole team! We all added different ideas/thoughts! My boyfriend's father is a serious bowler so they really take the game seriously, as I just try not to get my ball in the gutter. This Bowlero is huge and offers a parking lot that can hold all of the guests they have coming in. Checking in and getting our lanes was super smooth and quick, the guys at the counter were very kind and helpful - a great first impression! The bowling alley itself was really clean, buzzing with guests and although the building was a bit dated, I could see the upgrades they've made. Along with the huge tvs playing music videos and sports, they offered a bar, a concession stand and a small arcade. We only had one little one with us and got an arcade card for him to enjoy. Unfortunately, he wasn't super impressed by the arcade but it provided him with a few minutes of fun. The drinks available were surprisingly diverse and tasty! The concession stand offered the basics, pizza, wings, etc. The guy behind the counter was hilarious and ready to get off of work, but he was a trip lol. He put a rush on our order and made sure that we were set before he left. The wings were not anything to write home about, lol, but they worked. The pizza was better than I expected!! And when they made a mistake preparing an extra pie, they gave it to us at half price. We love to see it. Our only hiccup was that our bowling balls kept getting stuck! I'm not sure how we ended up with the fluke lane lol but the team members onsite were quick to fix them each time. A fun visit, especially because I didn't fail miserably at the game this time!

Everything was so high tech and there were no locks and keys we had to keep track of, which is my biggest downfall when competing a room. Everything was entered via iPads on the walls. There was so much detail in the room, which really made the experience great. You could tell a lot of thought and effort went into every aspect of the room. The owner (I think) answered all of our questions and gave us every clue we needed to make it through, without ruining the game. He also took some time after to tell us about how they created the room. Such an awesome time, I would highly recommend! Can't wait to try the next room!
