Had a really nice brunch experience at The Paramount! I know this place is pretty well known for…read moreits pancakes, so I was excited to try them. Honestly, they were just okay! Not bad by any means, but nothing particularly special compared to what I was expecting. The French toast, however, was amazing! Definitely much more impressive than the pancakes and something I'd recommend ordering. We also tried the burrata caprese toast, which was actually suggested by our server, and it ended up being such a pleasant surprise! It was absolutely delicious and easily my favorite dish of the entire meal. I probably wouldn't have thought to order it myself, so I'm really glad our server recommended it! Overall, the food was good, with a few dishes that really stood out. While the pancakes didn't quite live up to the hype for me, the French toast and especially the burrata caprese toast more than made up for it. I'd definitely come back and explore more of their menu. If you're visiting, don't overlook the savory options!

I've had Beacon Hill Books on my must-visit list ever since my kid moved from PDX to Cambridge a…read moreyear ago. And every time I planned to stop by, something came up. So when my 3-day school holiday break came around, I made it a point for my daughter and me to finally check it out! Plus she's a bookworm. We got lucky right from the start! My kid managed to snag a parking spot right on Charles St, just a block away. Listen- this was a victory in itself because parking in Boston is a muvvafuckinng nightmare. Beacon H. is everything I thought a charming neighborhood bookstore would be. It's cozy, quaint and has so much pizzazz. The space is narrow, rooms are little and even the staircase is narrow. Doesn't matter- it just adds to its old-fashioned charm. They also have a café that I really wanted us to try, but there was a wait, so we decided to stick to books this time. Depending on the weeknd, you might have to stand in line outside- line moves quick. This is the kind of bookstore I'd love to stay in for hours especially on a rainy day because it has this warm, inviting feel. The book selection isn't huge, but what they do have is well-put together with a little bit of everything: fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, etc. If you're looking for an entire collection by a particular author, you probably won't find it here. Like take John Grisham- one of my faves- you're going to find his latest but not his entire collection. I guess that's part of the charm. Lemme mention the service which was excellent and welcoming. Bookmark checked off my list!

There are three floors and the top floor is mostly children books with the most magical toy train and cute little passage door on one wall. This place is a must-visit if you are ever in Boston. Cafe -I didn't eat at the cafe because it was going to be 2 hours of wait time but it had the cutest smallest ground entrance, would love to visit next time!
