    Roman Pizza

Went to Cleveland for the day and decided to grab lunch at Citizen Pie. They are known for their wood fired pizza in 90 seconds at 900 degrees. We ordered the Roman which is a red sauce pizza with fresh mozzarella, oil cured olives, in house made pickled jalapeños and topped with burrata, basil, and oregano. The pizza was delicious. They even have other toppings on the side for you to add yourself like salt and pepper, red chili flakes, and Mike's Hot Honey. And if you didn't already know...hot honey on pizza is a game changer. The crust and dough were perfectly cooked to have a nice soft texture but still crispy from the outside. There is plenty of seating inside and the restaurant is just a walk away from West Town Village Market. Would definitely recommend checking this spot out when in the Cleveland area!

This is an amazing spot. The menu has a lot of options for pizza including a vegan option! I had the Roman pizza and a Honey Blonde Root Beer- delicious! I sat at the bar to watch the pizzas get made and the service was spectacular. There is parking on the street, and plenty of seating inside. The temperature in the restaurant was a little toasty due to the giant pizza oven, so dress appropriately. The attire is casual. Overall, lovely experience and can't wait to go back.

They were open during a snowstorm (but planning to close early) so I ran inside to finally try their food. Very nice, clean, and trendy interior. Order at the counter, and pizza was brought to the table. Pizza came out very quickly, when I first got it I had to wait a little because the toppings were sliding off. Taste was nice, a little burnt on the sides as you see in the picture below. Good quality ingredients, very similar to most "fired" type of restaurant pizzas. I've had this spot on my list to try for years after I read about the Lithuanian owner's story. Business finally took me to Cleveland so I'm glad to finally cross it off the list.

it's a great pizzeria. But I'm not into gourmet pizza. Location is convenient Tremont, Ohio. City

I called and asked about a specific pizza, the worker said they didn't have it or made it seem like it was difficult to do...it's pizza. I go in and another worker says they actually do have it and it would've been cheaper. They proceeded to do nothing to compensate the inconvenience. Save yourself the trouble. Go somewhere else

We dropped by Citizen Pie for a weekend lunch to see what other Neapolitan-style pizza places could offer after eating at Vero Pizza the previous night. We placed an online order right when they opened at 11:30AM, went inside and waited to see the pizza making magic. They take a dough ball, flatten and twirl it, then add some toppings. It's placed in the oven - the website claims only a 90 second cook time, but we timed it and it took around 210 seconds, plus an additional couple of seconds where they used the pizza peel to raise the pie towards the top of the oven. Perhaps since we went so early, the oven wasn't up to temperature yet? At any rate, the pizza was cooked pretty much perfectly. We opened the box and started digging in maybe only a minute or two after receiving the pizza. Americano ($18) - There's a bit of char on the crust, with a cornicione that rises up an inch or so and is a bit crisp on the exterior skin. The rise and flavor in the crust is a little less developed than Vero, but is still pretty good. There's a sprinkling of seasoning and salt on the crust. The toppings include a layer of pistachio cream spread evenly on the bottom, then topped with mozzarella, Italian sausage, red onion, green onion, calabrian chilis, and whole pistachios. There is a ton of cheese that gives a good cheese pull. The ingredients are ample and heavy, causing the middle crust to be floppy and the toppings easily slide off (normal for this type of pizza). The pizza overall is quite a bit on the salty side and the tastes kind of meld together and become muddled. We probably should have gone with one of the simpler and more traditional pizzas like the margherita, but we wanted to try something a bit different. (4/5) Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Hand dryer only. As a side note - I don't know if it's just the style of Cleveland pizza website or something, but the story of the pizzaiolo at Citizens Pie sounds even more pretentious than Vero. "Tonight V will wake again in the small hours, explain to his wife, 'I have to make pizza...'" Seriously, who says stuff like this? Citizen Pie puts out some good, but not outstanding Neapolitan-style pizzas. In my opinion, it's not nearly as good as Vero, but it's certainly way more affordable ($13 for margherita here, $24 at Vero). I think it's a good visit if you're in Ohio City or around some of the other locations.

Ordering was easy, it was ready when we arrived, it was perfectly cooked and exceptionally tasty, and the service was extraordinarily friendly. Thanks, neighbors, for a great dinner!

One of the most reliable pizza spots in Cleveland! The service is always speedy and excellent. The prices are quite good as well

$19 for this. They didn't even melt the cheese the rest of the way as I'm sure they realized something had gone wrong. THEN, I tried to call and they wouldn't answer the phone. There are so many great pizza places. Why put up with this?

Got three pizzas for takeout and they were pretty good! A little pricey compared to other pizza places but worth it for being a little bit more unique! Their pizzas have a wide variety of toppings and flavors you may not see normally. We got the little Italy, mushroom, and spinach. Little Italy had a perfect amount of spice/kick making it my favorite. The red onions in the mushroom and spinach really added another flavor dimension! The bacon pieces were large and were not just crusty burnt like you would expect which was awesome. Also love that these are thin crust allowing us to eat more pizza :) They do seem understaffed and busy but that is what's happening across the whole city with employment so be patient with you order!

I can't believe how long I've lived in Cleveland without ever having been to Citizen Pie! Seriously a hidden gem / underrated restaurant of Cleveland. There's a good variety of red & white pizza options on the menu but you can always customize your own pizza if you don't see one that appeals to you. I ended up getting a custom red pizza with spinach and mushrooms because I wanted some vegetables but honestly the most memorable thing about the pizza is how incredibly chewy their dough is! Seriously, if you have not had the pizza here yet, I highly recommend you come try it out. I was surprised they weren't more busy when I came on a Friday night for dinner, but regardless service is quick (you order first at the cashier) and the pizzas come out fast! I didn't order any with my visit this time but I saw that they also offer some beers/wines you can enjoy with your meal. Overall, great spot and I would definitely come back in the future whenever I'm craving some delicious pizza!

Been wanting to try this place for a while. So they just reopened on 4/29/22, i can't say anything about this place that hasn't already been said. If you like fresh made pizza this is the place and we watched them chop the lettuce for the salad and not from a bag.

The pizza is overpriced for the portion size, and honestly, the taste doesn't justify the cost either.

Coming into the store there was a cute counter by the window if you did decide to sit inside and eat. We came all the way from Kent for the pizza and wanted to try a slice before we left for home so my boyfriend ate a slice in the parking lot really quick. An employee (possibly the owner) came out with napkins and offered us to sit inside. We declined as we had to leave but the man graciously went inside and brought us out cold water bottles for our drive home! It was such a thoughtful gesture. Now onto the pizza. It was delicious! We ordered a regular pepperoni pizza and the white Neapolitan style pizza. It wouldn't let me add pineapple to my pizza online, which was fine because it didn't need it, the pizza was so good! I went to Yelp and found Angelo's, which wasn't far from where we were, so I placed an order for pick up. We got a large cheese, a large pepperoni, a medium half cheese/half pep, and two salads. Let me tell ya, that was plenty! When I arrived this place was pretty poppin for a Thursday at 1pm. Clearly they draw in the lunch crowd. It only took one bite into my slice of pizza and I understood why. The crust was pillowy and chewy, the sauce was sweet but just the right amount, and the amount of cheese was perfect. We got a side of ranch and it just added even more awesomeness to the bite. The salads were pretty large, but it would have been nice if they cut the veggies up a little more. There were full sized baby carrots thrown in there which were impossible to cut with the plastic utensils we got. I would hands down order from here if I lived in Cleveland. They would likely be a rotating option for me. Hell, I wish I could have some right now.

If you check out my reviews, you'll see that I've sampled pizzas in more than one state and more than one country, including Italy. I've sampled many types of crusts and sauces. While the crust here is fine (not the best), the sauce is repulsive. My daughter said "Dad, this area is heavily populated with people from Eastern Bloc countries," to which I responded "If they like their pizza sweet, so be it. But I certainly don't." I understand that there are plenty of pizza styles, including the Greek version, which includes cinnamon on occasion. Yuck. This place is called Napoleon's Pizza, and they claim to conquer pretty much everything, from your pizza craving to the whole town of Parma. Indeed, Napoleon was an Italian dude who was born in France. His conquering skills were excellent, until his greed resulted in the deaths of thousands of soldiers who froze to death. All of that to say, I might've named this place Napoli's Pizza (since Napoli is the birthplace of the pizza we know today). But the sweet sauce here is an abomination, so maybe 'Napolean's' is more appropriate after all.

You watch happy patrons pile out with slices as large as your head, you smell the delicious grease; you can practically taste your pie already. Stepping inside, this religious experience continues when, right as you ready yourself to order, you watch the pizza barista pull a hot, fresh pie directly from the oven. Now imagine the horror as the cashier takes that fresh slice of pizza, perfect as Michelangelo's David, and PUTS IT BACK IN THE OVEN. Served to you five minutes later, your wonderfully floppy New York slice now has the consistency of a saltine cracker.
