My colleague and I stopped by Citispot Tea & Coffee, located in Clinton, New Jersey, on our way to Macungie PA. We wanted to stop halfway on our trip to stretch our legs at Clinton and get some coffee/hot chocolate. Citispot Tea & Coffee is relatively close to the Red Mill Museum Village. There is table seating inside and outside the coffee shop. Citispot Tea & Coffee offers a wide variety of drinks and baked goods. Some of those options include espressos such as hot, iced, and frozen. You can also get a selection of Mochas, Lattes, Longjin Tea, and Classics such as Caramel Apple Cider! Looking over their drink selection, my colleague ordered a coffee, and I had ordered a small hot chocolate with whipped cream. Some of their baked goods include scones, muffins, poundcakes, croissants, cookies, macarons, and so much more! [1] Cinnamon Scone [3] Macarons We ended up eating at a table outside the coffee shop. It was such a beautiful day to eat outside! Unfortunately, the Cinnamon Scone was not warmed up. It was provided cold to us. They also didn't let us select the macaron flavors. Instead, they randomly picked macarons for us. We were provided chocolate, raspberry, and pistachio. The chocolate macaron was great! It had a lot of flavor, with a crunchy outside and soft inside. I don't particularly enjoy the flavors of the raspberry and pistachio macarons. I tried both macarons since that was what was provided to us, but it wasn't my favorite. The hot chocolate was missing the whipped cream. The coffee shop had a lot of space, though, if you wanted to bring your laptop and work at Citispot Tea & Coffee. There are also a lot of tables outside, overlooking the local stores and street! Prices were pretty reasonable, less than $20.00 for the entire order. If I stop by Clinton again, though, I'd try a different coffee shop. read more

Decent place. Nothing more, nothing less. Cold brew was decent. Interior was clean but kind of boring and plain. Gentleman who helped us wasn't overly friendly, but sufficient enough to not make it a negative experience. Absolutely adorable decor! This place was packed when I came. There was seating available both inside and outside. The staff was not the friendliest but besides that I have no complaints. Stopped by since we were passing through the neighborhood and were in the mood for a coffee and a sweet treat... this place definitely hit the spot. We each had a coffee and sampled a cinnamon scone, lemon pound cake, and a chocolate chip cookie. I'm told the scone was tasty and as for the lemon pound cake it was moist and delicious with a great flavor and the perfect amount of sweet vanilla icing, so good! I'm glad I read the recommendation on the chocolate chip cookie too because it was 100% on the money... this cookie was perfect... large chunks of high quality chocolate baked into this large delicious cookie. Most people 'expect' flowers and chocolate on Valentine's Day..... but my Valentine knows me too well. I got a Frozen Mocha from Citispot, and that made my day! What a cute little coffee shop with a very friendly owner that was literally there at 7pm on Christmas Day - apparently it's open 365 days a year! I've been a couple of times and there's always friendly service with a good selection of hot drinks and pastries. Very cool they've got bubble tea on the menu, although I had a peppermint tea this time and a chai the time before. It's nice and spacious too with plenty of room to sit inside or out in front with nice weather. read more

To start off the service was horrible and the guy was very rude for no reason at all. The coffee shop is nice. The coffee is ok. I was visiting the town so I only went twice. At night the girls were very nice and helpful. I went in the afternoon a couple of days later and the guy barista was horrible. He got upset because I asked him questions. I've tried their flavored coffees before with the same result so my order was not a one-time error. Was in Clinton for the day last week with a friend and stopped in Citispot for coffee. I asked the gentleman behind the counter a question about flavored coffee and was rudely and condescendingly told my question was irrelevant. So I tried to explain in a bit more detail, since I saw they offered flavored espresso and latte and was told 'coffee is coffee, it has no flavoring'. When I brought up they offered those other things flavored his rude behavior just continued. I told him his mistreatment was completely uncalled for and walked out. I don't understand how someone behind a service counter can be so nasty to customers and they still have a job. If this is how the staff treat people here I would NEVER recommend anyone go to this place. I was not nasty or disrespectful to this man, as I'm a manager at my job and deal with the public all the time. When you're in such a position, customer service is everything. read more

Super cute and cozy coffee shop with a view of the red mill in Clinton. The service is polite and efficient. So it's mostly a 3.5 stars type of spot, but where I'm rounding down a bit is unfortunately the drip coffee which comes across as a bit flat to me. The desserts are fine, similar to what you'd get in Starbucks. A great 'perk' is that the outdoor seating is lovely in good weather. So 3.5 stars with potential if they up that bean grind for the regular cup of joe. read more

Nothing tastes like it should here. We got the cookie butter frozen drink and it just tasted like a really strong frozen macchiato. I asked for a strong chair tea latte. However, I didn't know they used a powder mix. Powder mix is uncommon. All places uses a concentrated fluid because it has to be brewed. The drink was just like tasting powder. It wouldn't dissolve. The owner here is out of hand. :( The other morning while sipping my coffee he started to yell at the very sweet baristas. They were extremely pleasant and friendly to me early in the morning and I was so disappointed to watch them get publicly embarrassed in front of the entire coffee shop for no reason. Bad service. Terrible. The owner needs to hire a more professional server/cashier. We were there this Friday afternoon, we had a service dog "in training" with us, a puppy. Since our service dog is in training and is a puppy, she got excited when she saw another dog outside the door, and she started barking while inside the shop. Every customer was smiling at us because they saw how excited our dog was, and everyone came to say hi to her. NOT THIS SERVER! He was behind the counter yelling "Oh My God! Oh My God! My friend & I purchased an iced latte with oat milk. We have ordered this before and never had a problem. Today we took a sip and the latte was chunky and tasted very bad. Yuck! Obviously the oat milk was bad. We went and spoke to the owner and in front of all his customers he took out the container of oat milk drank it and said if I die you die!! I ordered the Taro Bubble tea. To summarize this is supposed to be a rich purple drink in color with chewy black boba balls at the bottom. However, this was not what I got. The taro powder was not mixed in and was floating at the top. The drink was white and tasted like plain milk. The black bobas however were the worst part. In lack of better words the texture was similar to a chunky, hard, uncooked jelly paired with weird shreds of brown string at the bottom. I hate to complain but this drink is $7. When I told the worker the issues with the drink she told me this was simply because they used store bought boba today and not homemade (I've made this drink at home plenty of times with store bought boba and have never had this result). I was offered to have the same drink remade but was told it would be the same as they saw nothing wrong with it. I would have preferred they offered me a different drink of the same value. I often hang out with my Buds from Clinton on Thursday nights. Their drinks are good as well. They are nice to let me use their restroom.

Citispot was uninspired at best. Another reviewer appropriately implied, tongue-in-cheek, that Citispot is a Starbucks in disguise. The coffee was basic and the logo is a merman with a trident. Draw your own conclusions. I'll give Citispot this: the business caters to the demographic. The shop is located right when you come over the gorgeous bridge into the main strip of Clinton, which likely catches the eyes of day trip visitors and folks with 2.5 kids. If it pays the bills, it pays the bills. There is a big sign up saying they are open 365 days a year, even holidays. This is not a superlative. Making your employees work when they should be enjoying a day off with family and friends on holidays is not a good thing, and broadcasting it to everyone who walks through the door is in poor taste. If you insist on being open 365, put up a small sign around the holidays listing holiday hours. The counter man did not seem knowledgeable about the product. I did not press him, he just got a little glassy-eyed when I asked him if they roast their own beans. I ordered a cold brew, and it was worthy of no special commendation. In an indie (keyword: indie) coffee shop, I seek two things: quality product made and served with passion and a unique, inviting atmosphere that captures and proclaims the local culture. Clinton is gorgeous, and CS is not taking full advantage of that. Two stars for adequate product and service. Would love to see CS pour resources into capturing the spirit of Clinton and delivering more unique, higher-quality product, but doesn't seem to be the business's MO. Great local coffee shop and a super loyal customer base of people that have been coming there for years. The atmosphere is very similar to any Starbucks you've been to (and prices relatively the same) but it's nice to know you're supporting a great local business. Mark, the owner, hires a lot of the highschoolers and I still see familiar faces in there sometimes. Their speciality (and secret recipe) is the Diana Mint Latte but I'm a sucker for their Carmel Macchiatos for any season, Gingerbread lattes in the winter, and Spearmint tea whenever I feel like being relatively healthy. There are always highschoolers doing homework in there, couples chatting, and even a place for you to play scrabble or chess. They didn't even call out our one drink when it was finished so it'd just been sitting there for who knows how long. Every table was filthy and even though the other 2 behind the counter weren't doing anything, they didn't come and wipe down the tables or throw out trash. My latte was white as milk and tasted like it. I'd be surprised if they even put 1 shot of espresso in it. My friend's frozen hot chocolate was mostly ice and flavorless.
