This was the most unique activity for a Bachelorette weekend. We had a private class and our teacher Devin was absolutely amazing!!! Everyone had a blast.

Really fun positive atmosphere! Really hard but the instructor made everyone feel really comfortable and gave one on one improvements/tips while being COVID friendly with mask. Make sure to sign up for the intro class only if this is your first class as I think I will be sore for days after even that one! Would be really fun for a girls day party too! I got a good deal on Groupon for first class offer. Also S/O to these BA women (and maybe men) who are so talented at this...this was so fun and impressively hard!

I was passing through town and decided to drop in for class. I was thrilled at how friendly and welcoming everyone was at the studio! I would 10/10 recommend this for aerial classes! Instructor Nikki was so patient and was able to walk me through every move. Please try this studio out and FLY!

This place is SO COOL. I was gifted an intro aerial class for Christmas and finally found the time to come in and do it. I have no "circus" background or gymnastics at all, so I was a little nervous to see how it would go, but I was blown away. It truly is an intro class- they don't expect you to know anything. They show you how the silks work and then you go through several moves that you can do. The instructor always does it first, then allows you to try, and comes around to make sure anyone who needs help gets it. It was a lot of fun! But don't be fooled it is still a fitness class somewhat. You definitely get an arm workout in, and my abs were sore after too. Which is great! Something fun that gets me off my couch? Count me in!! I will be back for some higher level classes. I am truly impressed by their ability to take me from 0 to feeling pretty proud of what I was able to do.

Fun thing to do with friends! They teach you step by step how to maneuver the ropes. It was such a different way to work out and step out of your comfort zone! I recommend for anyone who's looking to try a new hobby!

Thoroughly enjoyed the intro class I was able to attend thanks to Groupon. Our teacher was thoughtful, patient and kind. It was an exciting, difficult and beneficial workout. I was sore the next day without having back pain. I'd love to do this again. Pro tip: only park on the Cirque Indy side of the street.

Cirque du Soleil has yet to recruit me for their troupe, but I had a fun time experiencing something totally different at Cirque Indy. A group of Yelpers did a UYE Intro to Aerial Silks with owner Mary and instructor Erin. These ladies are quite the aerial acrobats themselves and showed off a bit at the end, but this class was tailored for beginners. We started with a basic warmup and partnered up on the silks (normal class size is ten and you each get your own silk) that can each hold up to 2,000 pounds (!!!). Mary and Erin walked us through the basic terminology like crochet and foot holds and tied the silks for us. They were quick to help out and offer individualized instruction for those of us that weren't quite naturals yet. This isn't necessarily a "workout" class, but you will feel the burn - my shoulders and arms are SORE today! It helps if you have upper body and core strength. More advanced classes are available for those who want to train in aerial arts. I can't see myself doing this on a regular basis, but I'm glad I stepped outside of my comfort zone and tried something new!

Looking for something different to do? This is the place to do it. I am still sore from it, but what a great workout and it really works muscles that you do not normally use. My friend Stephanie came down from Chicago when she was on her way home from Christmas, so five of us got together to take this circus class for $25 each. We did Silks, Lyra (aerial hoops) and Trapeze. I absolutely love Lyra. I might consider just doing those classes with my friends that went with me. Silks were fun too. I see where with some practice and maybe a few yoga classes you could excel at any of these. Trapeze was definitely not for me, but I'm super tall and flexibility is not up to par, but you might love it. We had instructors Mary and Poppy. Really great women and were very encouraging. They seemed to be excited that there were three grown adult men interested in these classes, since this activity is normally female-dominated. They didn't judge us for any of our failures, they laughed along with us and had a lot of fun. Pretty sure I left my keys there, but that is something I will deal with after New Years. Send them an email and do it! Update few days later: Wow. What a workout. I really feel it in my chest, back and side areas, which are areas I really want to work on anyway. Hands, definitely a little sore. But worth it.

I absolutely love Cirque Indy! This evening, I had the pleasure of participating in an Unofficial Yelp event -- "Introduction to Aerial Silks" class -- at the studio. Prior to the class, I was nervous about my lack of experience/exposure to aerial silks. However, instructors Mary (who is also owns Cirque Indy) and Erin immediately put my fears to rest and made me feel very comfortable. The class began with a core focused workout and transitioned to the learning foundational aerial silk techniques. These basic skills were so fun and challenging. Every time we did a new move I felt my core and upper body being challenged. Although the techniques were tough, Erin and Mary made the class so much fun! Their positivity and clear instruction made the class so enjoyable. They offered demonstrations and made sure that each student was adjusted properly for the position at-hand. Mary's and Erin's expertise was evident throughout the class and it made me feel that I was in great hands. This was the most fun that I had while working out in such a long time. I laughed, smiled, and learned so much. At the conclusion of the class, I purchased more class passes! I cannot wait to come to back! If you want to learn amazing new skills, while off the ground, I absolutely suggest coming to Cirque Indy. Thank you Kim S. for organizing such a unique and fun event!

We had so much fun tonight! Thanks Mary and Erin for showing us how to be mermaids!
Kim K.

I always wanted to be a mermaid as a kid. While I have grown to understand that is not quite going to work out as a full time occupation - I was excited to learn "mermaid" pose and high-five myself on making my dreams come true. I attended a few intro classes and found myself wanting to learn more; there is something incredibly fun about trying something you have never done before-even if you aren't a natural at it, so I registered for additional classes. Mary-the owner-and her instructors are so patient, encouraging and willing to help. They do a great job of teaching safety (each of the silks can hold 2,000 lbs!) as well as terminology. The classes are suited for all skill levels - while I can't do all the skills that more advanced students execute, it is inspiring to watch them and set goals for myself.

hangin out at Cirque Indy!

I tried the Intro class with a friend a couple weeks ago, it was soooo much fun! I love that there is warm up and stretching before you start. Mary was super helpful, attentive and encouraging! I can't wait to come back and bring friends and family! Warning: your peck area and hands will be sore the next day, but its worth it lol

Spinning like a pro!

Yelp adventures never cease to amaze me, and an evening of Intro to Aerial Silks was an absolute blast! From the moment I arrived, every employee was friendly and clearly excited to be there. Mary, the owner, and Erin co-led our large group, starting with a thorough warm up and leading us through the basics on the silks. We all got sufficient time to try things and the instructors both did a great job of leading us through with clear instructions, while still keeping it fun! Classes normal max out at 10, however, so you won't have to share! By the end we were safely flipping and spinning the night away! I can't wait to indulge in another class with the package I bought - I'm addicted! And for what it's worth - I can't tell you the last time I worked out. They make it enjoyable for all skill levels! Parking tip: park on the same side of the street as Cirque Indy or a little further south on the left is a gravel lot that's available.

The process was easy and very informative. All our questions from billing, to location, times, instructors, etc were answered at registration. The first class we came in and we were immediately greeted as we approached the front desk. I let them know it was our first visit. They welcomed us, introduced the instructor to me and my daughter and let us know how the process worked. The class is one hour and there is no wasted time. They move from station to station and get instructions on how to do the work they are focusing on. I look around at all the instructors and students and see many, many smiles and excited faces. I see the kids confidence being boosted as they accomplish the task at their skill level. They are challenged and encouraged. Our instructor's name is Faith. She is doing great with her group. Looking around, I see many instructors with kids at different skill levels all doing great things with their students. I am very happy with this gym. The equipment is well padded, the gym has much to offer in a safe environment. They have an excellent observation area right on floor level where things can be seen and heard. There is also a play area for kids not in gymnastics and WiFi is offered to guests.

There were two birthday parties occurring simultaneously, our group of 4 and 5 year olds along side another group of what appeared to be much larger older kids (maybe 8 or 9 year olds?) each group had well over a dozen members. The staffing was painfully sparse and consisted of merely a front desk woman and two teens on the gym floor. Upon arrival, we were greeted and immediately asked to fill out a waiver. I did inform the employee that this was our first visit. After receiving lack-luster instruction of rules and guidelines, we removed both mine, and my daughter's shoes/ socks, then headed to the tumbling room floor. Once on the floor, one of the teen employees approached quickly informing me, "All parents, except birthday child's parents, are to go upstairs in the viewing area." I was very hesitant to leave my 4 year old daughter and decided to mostly obey the girl's request by moving to the sidelines near the door. Once off to the side, I noticed NONE of the other 6 "non-birthday child parents" were asked to leave!! Not wanting to make a scene, I continued to watch carefully from the floor entrance. Here is what I witnessed: The teen girl employee only actively monitored one trampoline that was immediately in front of the foam pit. She repeatedly instructed my daughter to wait in line but did not appear at all concerned about how many children were already actually in the foam pit! I was very concerned because I did not want any of the little kids crushed by the much larger, considerably heavier older kids. While It is not reasonable to expect two girls to monitor a whole gym with over two dozen children running and jumping; it is also unreasonable to expect a small child to understand protocol and expectations in an alien environment. Why not allow parents to monitor their kids in an unobtrusive manner? Is it so difficult to also be consistent with the application of rules? I felt singled out, discriminated against and unwelcome. I had high hopes for Gymnastics Unlimited as a local, future scheduled, energy burn-off activity for my daughter but after today's off-putting experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend the facility to anyone wanting a safe experience for their young child.

We told the director that our child hadn't really been socialized before or in a structured school setting and was speech delayed and were assured that this would be fine and nothing to worry about. Even their website says: "Individual attention is paid to each student. Our teachers believe in giving each child personalized attention in a nurturing environment." We even asked at the start the likelihood of being kicked out to do our child's progress/developmental issues and were told that the only way he would get kicked out is if we as parents did something super unruly to warrant removal of our child. Fast forward about 6 months when they "invited him not to return" the next month with only 3 days heads up because he required "too much individual attention". Considering both parents have full time jobs, this was definitely a big frustration and very inconsiderate (not to mention super unfortunate considering the pocketed about half our deposit). I also found the teachers/admins weren't super communicative regarding the true status of our child. Had we known they were thinking of not allowing us to continue to take our child here, we could have made other arrangements or at least been not caught off guard. The teachers weren't super nice (I literally never smiles when we dropped him off). But that may have just been because my child was "too difficult." I also found the overall vibe somewhat unprofessional. The director/principal often solicited money for fundraisers for her child from parents of children at the school, which seems somewhat improper with the expectation that the person that holds power to keep your child in care is "asking" for help with her child's fundraiser. Overall, I really liked the concept of exercise, structured education, etc. I just think for someplace that made all these promises, they could have done a bit more to either follow through or set expectations to start. This is definitely a place that is all about the money.
