    Gymnasium area

My two daughters love this place and so do I. I would just like to say Troy C. you were the only one with that experience and the only one who knew this happened, I would just like to say that Dana does not teach classes or even usually come into the gym, to be honest they only allow 4 and up to have class and actually use equipment so, sorry but if that happened to your kid but that was pretty much impossible to do if they were that age. Anyway, just had to make sure anyone who read that knew that they were probably reading a lie, Dana Mannix has some pretty amazing staff, and my youngest daughter almost immediately got more skills while my oldest daughter improved dramatically. I recommend it to anyone who has kids that need to get their energy out or just want to do gymnastics or even the Ninga classes, open to boys and girls or however else they identify.

We had never been there and never taken gymnastics classes, but it sounded like a great place to have a birthday party!

Didn't we all dream of being Cirque du Soleil performers as kids? Just me? Anyway!…read more Cirque Indy offers classes in silks/slings and Lyra and trapeze. I participated in Sling 1, the entry level course that goes over the basics. They don't allow photos in the studio except for the end of class, so I'll describe the space as best as I can remember. There's a front room with silks, Lyra, and trapeze set up over a spring-loaded floor. They have rainbow string lights around the support beams on the ceiling where the apparatuses are mounted. Pride and BLM flags on the wall! The back room is smaller and will switch between silks and slings (silks that are a loop at the bottom instead of a knot). There's a setup for 9 of those in the back room, which also has a mirror. We started with a full body warm up in the front room and then the aerial warmup was on the slings. Instructor Emily is very good at coaching all the movements from warm up through finish in this class. Sling 1 starts with the basics of aerial movement with a lot of standing movements and some basic inversions. We learned a little combo at the end to try out, and even if you're somewhat athletic, you'll still be in for a challenge! On this review are some photos of me doing some inversions. It's actually quite secure on the sling!

Emily our instructor was very very nice and took her time teaching us the into to aerial fabric, we did the Silks 1 Parking is kinda tough but other wise it's a very great place to learn aerial fabrics and trapeze I'd recommend checking it out!

A great company that came in and took over USA gym HQ from the Karoli family after it emerged how badly they've been abusing all of their gymnasts (including the horrific scandal with the Michigan State doctor sexually abusing hundreds of them). This is a solid and state of the art facility, and as friends of the program and with a friend who is actively currently on the program, and visitors twice now, we can say this is gold standard.

The new gym is huge and very well equipped. They have regular group lessons, but some of the instructors also do private lessons. Our daughter does level 1 travel team and has enjoyed it so much that she wants to continue to the level 2 travel team. We've never been to another gym, so I can't compare prices. All I know is IT AINT CHEAP! (lol) Team practice 2 x's per week, private lessons, team leotards, team warm-ups, team travel bag, hotels, etc. They do something unique. You can work in the concession stand for $10 or $15 per hour to be credited to your account, so that is very helpful. We have referred several of our daughter's classmates to join and they all seem happy as well.

My 4 year old daughter attended a birthday party at Gymnastics Unlimited today. The facility was…read moretidy and in good repair but seriously understaffed. There were two birthday parties occurring simultaneously, our group of 4 and 5 year olds along side another group of what appeared to be much larger older kids (maybe 8 or 9 year olds?) each group had well over a dozen members. The staffing was painfully sparse and consisted of merely a front desk woman and two teens on the gym floor. Upon arrival, we were greeted and immediately asked to fill out a waiver. I did inform the employee that this was our first visit. After receiving lack-luster instruction of rules and guidelines, we removed both mine, and my daughter's shoes/ socks, then headed to the tumbling room floor. Once on the floor, one of the teen employees approached quickly informing me, "All parents, except birthday child's parents, are to go upstairs in the viewing area." I was very hesitant to leave my 4 year old daughter and decided to mostly obey the girl's request by moving to the sidelines near the door. Once off to the side, I noticed NONE of the other 6 "non-birthday child parents" were asked to leave!! Not wanting to make a scene, I continued to watch carefully from the floor entrance. Here is what I witnessed: The teen girl employee only actively monitored one trampoline that was immediately in front of the foam pit. She repeatedly instructed my daughter to wait in line but did not appear at all concerned about how many children were already actually in the foam pit! I was very concerned because I did not want any of the little kids crushed by the much larger, considerably heavier older kids. While It is not reasonable to expect two girls to monitor a whole gym with over two dozen children running and jumping; it is also unreasonable to expect a small child to understand protocol and expectations in an alien environment. Why not allow parents to monitor their kids in an unobtrusive manner? Is it so difficult to also be consistent with the application of rules? I felt singled out, discriminated against and unwelcome. I had high hopes for Gymnastics Unlimited as a local, future scheduled, energy burn-off activity for my daughter but after today's off-putting experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend the facility to anyone wanting a safe experience for their young child.

I agree with other reviews here. Before I sent my child, I thought they were over critical, but it…read morehonestly was the exact experience we had. We told the director that our child hadn't really been socialized before or in a structured school setting and was speech delayed and were assured that this would be fine and nothing to worry about. Even their website says: "Individual attention is paid to each student. Our teachers believe in giving each child personalized attention in a nurturing environment." We even asked at the start the likelihood of being kicked out to do our child's progress/developmental issues and were told that the only way he would get kicked out is if we as parents did something super unruly to warrant removal of our child. Fast forward about 6 months when they "invited him not to return" the next month with only 3 days heads up because he required "too much individual attention". Considering both parents have full time jobs, this was definitely a big frustration and very inconsiderate (not to mention super unfortunate considering the pocketed about half our deposit). I also found the teachers/admins weren't super communicative regarding the true status of our child. Had we known they were thinking of not allowing us to continue to take our child here, we could have made other arrangements or at least been not caught off guard. The teachers weren't super nice (I literally never smiles when we dropped him off). But that may have just been because my child was "too difficult." I also found the overall vibe somewhat unprofessional. The director/principal often solicited money for fundraisers for her child from parents of children at the school, which seems somewhat improper with the expectation that the person that holds power to keep your child in care is "asking" for help with her child's fundraiser. Overall, I really liked the concept of exercise, structured education, etc. I just think for someplace that made all these promises, they could have done a bit more to either follow through or set expectations to start. This is definitely a place that is all about the money.

I quickly told her she was in the wrong and should have moved on to another child. I did not witness them making it a fun experience at all. We switched schools immediately. To top it off, they don't care about your business the front desk was rude from the beginning.
