When I want to drink in Woonsocket, this is my place. Maybe its because I never had crazy high expectations, but every time I visit has been good to fantastic. For a glorified bar, the menu has everything from typical pub food to lamb. I have a couple favorites, the federal hill "grilled" pizza. It says grilled, but really its greek pizza. It comes with sausage, meatball, and ricotta. The winner for me is their outstanding wings! Get the thai flavored (be open minded) ones and you won't be disappointed. I haven't tried the sliders yet, but I've that they are the best 'bang for your buck' item. The inside decor is get and they have plenty of TVs to watch the game. The beer, wine, and alcohol is typical of what you would expect. My one complant is the staff is inconsistant. One night its "hi, patron we love you guys!" but the next it could be "Its 11pm and we want to leave early! (closing at 1am) I know lets make this really uncomfortable in here to get you to leave." My favorite staff personality is when the staff is intellectually on the same level as a bunch of beavers. Either way its easy to forget how stupid or lazy the staff can be when I'm sinking my chops into some tasty wings with a cold beer. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I came here with my family recently after seeing a play in the nearby theater and didn't have a great experience. The food was ok--nothing spectacular--and it was a bit overpriced. A few things about the meal stuck out to us. First off, they have the strangest policy with bread. The server told us that they make fresh bread, but only for times when it isn't busy. So they won't give you bread if you happen to come at a "busy" time. It was also like 4:30 in the afternoon with one other family in the restaurant, but they still wouldn't give us any bread. Either provide or don't provide bread with meals, but be consistent. They also ran out of many items, which we found unprofessional. For example, the kids' meals are supposed to come with ice cream, but they said they were all out, so the kids would get nothing for dessert. It would've been better customer service if they at least had something else to offer to the kids to compensate for the missing desserts. We had ordered a couple chocolate lava cakes that are also supposed to come with ice cream. They only told us about the ice cream shortage like 10 minutes after we had already ordered. Anyone who knows anything about lava cakes knows that ice cream is a big part of the dessert; the warm cake and fudge is supposed to be mixed with the cold ice cream. Instead, they put a couple extra spurts of whipped cream, which is no real substitute. When the bill came, they had "accidentally" charged us for a pricey salmon lobster special when my dad only ordered the regular cheaper salmon. They did take one of the lava cakes off the bill to make up for the kids' missing desserts. However, considering that the ice cream portions of our lava cake desserts were missing too and they didn't provide any dessert substitutes to the kids, this seemed like way too little. The server had explained they were busy that day, but a restaurant near a theater in the center of Woonsocket should be prepared for that kind of busy. read more

Love the atmosphere. The staff are fantastic, and the bar/drinks are always good. I had a bad experience here last week when I ordered the Prime Rib. It was covered in a weird sauce (that I was told by the waitress was "au jus") that made the steak taste like kielbasa. I would not recommend ordering their prime rib. read more

I came here this past weekend with my boyfriend prior to seeing "A Christmas Carol" at the theater and had almost a perfect visit. My first impression was the little detail that kept this from a 5 star rating... upon entering the restaurant I was greeted with chaos... due to a busy dinner rush I would understand, but I later learned that wasn't really the case. Yes they were busy... but the hostess was almost always missing. Upon giving my name, we were told a 45 minute wait... we had already parked and gotten out tickets so we decided to wait it out... She had told us the bar seating was first come, first serve, so we stalked that out and ended up getting a great spot at the bar, right in front of the TV. As a courtesy, I made my way back to the hostess stand to let her know we had found a seat... [at first I waited to check in with her, as she was with guests at the table sort of behind us... 10+mins later, she was still there chatting away] so I went to the stand with hopes someone else was there... and there was... but didn't have my name to cross off because the other hostess was walking around with the list... This could very well have caused the wait, as the hostess was no where to be found half the time, and when you did see her, she was visiting for more than a quick check-in... Now I've been a hostess before, and understand tables sometimes have questions and create conversation... but this was beyond the quick hello.. and this was a very busy time at the restaurant.. and the fact she left the stand with the list, left the other hostess out to dry as far as seating and the correct order of people. The two bartenders were visibly busy, but handled the situations that arose around us with ease. We sat next to a rather picky couple who complained about something they had ordered, and one of the ingredients, which was CLEARLY marked on the menu; yet "they would've never ordered it if they knew there were mushrooms" yet regardless of this clear disregard for what was written on the menu, one of the bartenders quickly apologized and stated it would be taken off the check. Now, when we ordered and were served, everything was GREAT! The Malbec I had was so very tasty, as was the french onion soup and pretzels with dipping sauces. My boyfriend ordered the burger and presentation was gorgeous and he stated it was very very tasty! Besides the deal with the hostess and the annoying couple next to us... this place was awesome... warm, friendly atmosphere and I can't wait to come back sometime when they aren't slammed with Polar Express and a play all in ne night at a dinner rush! read more

Good food and free entertainment on the weekends. You can bring your fido to the outside patio, but if you have trouble walking, stay indoors. I now use a walker and found outside entirely too hard to push my walker over the small rocks covering the ground. We were a large group and everyone enjoyed their food. Our server was nice and attentive. My only criticism would be with the drink I ordered, my over priced mojito had very little lime or mint taste and was mostly just alcohol with a lime peel and mint leaf floating in it. This place was almost great but left me disappointed. We waited briefly at the bar before the hostess asked us if we minded sitting upstairs. It seemed fine so up we went! Our server had no idea what beers were on tap- they advertise 6 rotating taps and the standard 6 taps in the menu, half were not actually on tap. I asked for an IPA, he brought me "Fat Tire Fanny IPA." My husband got "Sam Adams Hoponius." Neither of those are real beers- just a mismatch of names from the current and prior tap list. Super disappointed as it looked like they had Revelry Fanny IPA, Fat Tire Lager, and Sam Adams Hopscade from the tap handles downstairs. Maybe? Who knows? I almost sent mine back because a lager is not an IPA (I think I got Fat Tire Lager) but I took pity on the poor kid. I know craft beer is a confusing world but just get a full beer list and show it to me. I can look up descriptions but not with made up names. The building is spectacular but upstairs was very cold, probably due to the stained glass windows. It was good for groups but downstairs looked warmer and more intimate. The upstairs would be good for a function. The food was mixed. We got queso over fries- homemade queso was very good. My husband got the $14 chicken BLT pizza which looked really good and he liked it. I got the margarita flatbread and it was so sad. It was less than half the size of the pizza (but $5 cheaper) and all of the cheese was on one side so the other side was just sauce and tomatoes. I'm not sure if it slid over when preparing but it was just bland and not that good. Overall it was pretty affordable at under $50 for two before tip. I think I would still go back as these are easy fixes but still disappointed. read more

Our group of four "mature" folks arrived very early, about 4:15pm on a Wed. The place was tricky to reach because of one-way streets. Inside, the place was very dim but with big TV screens. I liked the decor with quirky midieval paintings and comfy large chairs. But there were no quiet spots for dinner conversation! The waiter was attentive but not friendly. He forgot to take half off for Lady's night. The food seemed very promising on the menu but was not well-made. The sangria was sweet like fruit-punch, and something was wrong with the gin & tonic. The calamari appetizer arrived cold and oily, even though we were the only guests. The lemon-shrimp risotto was salty, the broiled sole oily, the asparagus burnt, and the steak fatty. They had no creme brûlée, and the coffee was tasteless. It seemed as if the original owners were creative and cared, but now they're gone. Came here today on the recommendation of a friend who said it was "the ONLY place in Woonsocket" that is a good restaurant. I was not disappointed. We came in as a party of 6 in the mid afternoon so we were seated right away. They seem like they have a pretty decent beer selection, I ordered a Revival IPA because they're local. For food I ordered the lobster BLT and it was delicious. Nice pieces of juicy lobster over smoky bacon on a buttery pretzel roll with seasoned mayo and lettuce and tomato....you really can't go wrong. I would totally order this again. The fries that came with it were just regular pub fries - nothing special but they're fries- so they tasted good. My friend ordered the poutine and was disappointed because it was not made with authentic cheese curds - it was like cheez-wiz and then topped with gravy. So, don't order the poutine if you're from Vermont or Canada - you'll probably be sad if you do. The bathroom also smelled like urine. I thought maybe it's because there is a urinal in addition to a toilet, but my friends commented they noticed pee all over the floor. This is an easy fix though. I would come back here again if I'm in Woonsocket. read more

Was cooked perfectly and the fries were great. My wife had the fish sandwich, which she loved as well. Free valet parking on the weekends was an added bonus. Ciro's is a bad section of town, but once you walk inside it's nice, the ambience is nice, very rustic taverny type of place. The food was very good, but the wait, it took a long time for the food to come, but at least when it came it was hot. The waitress was new, but she kept taking away plates and napkins too soon, the free soup was a nice touch. The peach sangria was really good, but at 8 dollars a glass, a glass filled with ice, it was overpriced. Do not get the fried twinkies for dessert, it was really kind of soggy and gross, very disappointing. read more

The waitress was great. Food, so so. I had the mango salad and the basalmic vinegar overtook the entire meal. $8 margarita came in plastic cup. If I wanted a plastic cup I'd have made a margarita at home. Definately not worth the price, but ok. When wait staff asked how the dinner was they did their best to make it right. We had such a good time here yesterday watching the game outside. It was a much better experience than our first time service-wise. On our first trip at the inside bar the 2 bartenders couldn't have been any more disinterested in serving guests and were just gossiping amongst themselves and with a friend they had at the bar, and were definitely annoyed they were working. This time we had the bartender outside and he couldn't have been nicer and was a really good server. The food was also really good, some of the best wings I've had in a long time! I went in with a party of three. As we were in a bad mood due to being in town for a loved one's funeral, it's surprising that by the time we left Ciro's our mood had greatly lifted. It was probably due to our fun and sweet server, great food and feeling like the prices were good. I thought the decor was dark and odd (Medieval theme), but I see from talking to others and reading other reviews that some people like this, and I guess that it's good to have some restaurants decorate in a different style than I'm used to. I'd definitely go back and hope that it's a good patio weather day when I get back there. read more

I've been here many times over the past 50 years, recently before or after an event at the Stadium Theatre. I've always found it fine, not great, but perfectly adequate. Incredibly easy to get to from the Theatre and always staffed by pleasant, helpful people. They have the status of being, essentially, the only choice in town with the vomings and going's of numerous other venues over the years. This time I have to say I was disappointed, to the state where I left my entire meal. We were a group of four. We shared an order of Poutine which, again, was only adequate. The cheese curds turned out to be a little shredded cheese melted over the fries with a small amount of brown gravy. Again, adequate but no great shakes. The others got a sandwich or tacos and we're happy. I ordered Chicken Marsala and got chicken grilled to a crusty, chewey mass which was difficult to cut and even more difficult to eat layered over mushy mashed potatoes and without a hint of Marsala. I left the entire meal and the server didn't have the common sense to ask why. I suppose I should have complained but I didn't want to embarrass the others. So, it does seem to be the only show in town so I'll probably be back but I'll just order the cheapest thing on the menu with no expectations. No wine list. Choose your type and that's it. Generic M/F restroom on first floor, individual M and F on second floor. Small parking lot next to building, on street parking, looks like outdoor patio for nicer weather. read more

Love Ciro's! This is always my our "go to" drinking spot during the summer because of their beautiful patio! Not to mention, their food is out of this world. I am obsessed with their fig flatbread. It is the perfect mix of salty and sweet! The bartenders are always lookin' out for you, especially on the crazy busy weekends. Parking seems to be a little difficult on the weekend, especially if there is a show at the Stadium Theater. Never stopped me from finding my way, though. read more

The menu said it came with blue cheese. NO blue cheese! The steak I ordered well done was pink! The staff was so busy it was hard to get any attention. I went to Ciros yesterday with my mom and brother. It's easy enough to find - but watch out for the nearby one-way roads! Ample parking coupled with fast service and Tons of food. I felt pleasantly stuffed after consuming my fish and chips. We went for a late lunch and the place had a moderate crowd. The bar was pretty packed - probably in anticipation of the Patriots game. I'm not in town all that often, but I'd definitely come back again, and highly recommend readers check it out as well. read more

We were looking for a place to grab a drink and decided to stop by Ciro's. After being there for 30 mins the music started to change and it was obvious the waiter was letting her friends that were drinking at the bar pick the music... they were a group of young drunk kids maybe 21. They started playing Tupac and other type of music not really appropriate for a family restaurant. The couple next to us arrived and left 5 minuets later, clearly because of the music. We finished our drinks and left. The manager on should've stepped in and maybe not let drunk kids pick the restaurants music. read more

Seems like a cool local tavern. First time tonight and came for the steak and cheese sandwich the phantom gourmet raves about as part of "the great eight" steak sandwiches. Sadly not so much. Was literally 1 single piece of thick steak on a soggy roll. Steak was easily 30% inedible from gristle. Just revolting. I've had a fillet mignon steak sandwich elsewhere that was heavenly. After waiting at Coachmen's lodge in Bellingham well over 2 hours for a patio table & never being seated, we were starving & decided to see how Ciro's was on a Friday night at 9pm. We were seated right away by a friendly hostess. We had a great waitress, Kristin, who was friendly and attentive. Beautiful atmosphere, packed bar area, live music. Good food came out quickly. The patio outside is beautiful and live music on a Sunday afternoon. So far so good. I ordered fish tacos- limp fish pieces with a delicious shrimp slaw in top good but please , crisp the fish!! Lobster pizza with small bits of lobster crumbles unevenly distributed on top of a cheap, frozen crust product that they call grilled. Awful! You get better pizza in a high school cafeteria. Went here for the first time at my daughter's recommendation and was so glad I did! My meal was absolutely delicious! I had the steak tips which were tender and flavorful, the best risotto I've ever had and yummy green beans. My daughter's boyfriend had the fish and chips which he said was delicious and the piece of fish was huge! My youngest daughter had pasta from the kids menu (which looked homemade) and she ate it all. The only bad thing was the scoop of vanilla ice cream that came with the kids meal, it was kind of freezer burned. Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant too. My favorite go to restaurant, outdoor area is beautiful with a nice huge bar and plenty of tables. 2 fire pits and a fireplace. The inside is great too, dark better for a cold day or rainy. The wings are to die for, the Thai are my favorite. I would give 5 stars but the burgers, that are usually outstanding, have been well over cooked the past 4X me or my husband have had them. Fries are fresh cut and awesome! They always have an excellent band on Friday nights too! read more
