Another good experience. Quiet place, tucked into corner of shopping center. Attentive service, stellar housemade pasta - bolognese for my friend, carbonara for me.

My friend and I went for lunch yesterday. The ambiance was quiet, and there were only a couple at the restaurant, but they had many takeout orders. The service was quick and great! The food came out so fresh and delicious. We ordered a cheese pizza and a Philly cheesesteak. The sub was demolished before I could grab a photo! 10/10 would come back.

We really enjoyed visiting Ciro in Stone Ridge. Their takeout counter was pretty busy. They have a very small bar to the left of the entrance. And the main dining area to the right. The kids pizza and spaghetti were pretty big portions. Our kids had to bring home leftovers. The bruschetta was flavorful and fresh. The argula and pear salad was refreshing and the house dressing wasn't over powering. The lemon chicken picatta was perfect. I loved that it wasn't overly buttered like many other restaurants do. Knocked down one star because service was rather slow. Everyone was super friendly though. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!

BLUF: Service is great. Cozy venue up front. Back room is nicer. My food was mediocre. Others may really enjoy their food, but I wasn't bowled over by taste bud heaven. Worth the drive? For some. It's a community favorite. Just not mine. Pizza is all about the perfect balance of freshness and deliciousness. The ideal blend of savory sauce, cheese, toppings, and a yummy crust. Crust is not just what toppings sit upon. It should be tasty bread all by itself. This pizza, while it looked enticing, was served to me almost cold...and I was sitting about as close to the kitchen as one could get. The crust lacked a lot flavor. For me, it fell in the category of slightly better than cardboard. The bland, tangy, watery tomato sauce was too boring as if they were relying on the few sprigs of basil to season the whole pizza. The parmesan sprinkled atop my pizza couldn't save it. For the price, it was a decent size, but for my hopes of scarfing down some delicious pie, it fell really short.

Raved about this place so much that my parents were eager to try! Today we ordered two large pies. One margarita and one veggie! Both were delicious as always! I have to say I personally prefer the classic cheese over the margarita. But you cannot go wrong with any pizza here! Pickup was super quick and smooth! I would say the price is higher than your typical pizza joint, but so worth it in my opinion. We just can't get enough of Ciro's pizza.

Location: in a shopping center with other popular stores so parking lot can be busy depending on the time you go. Service: 10/10. Scott was phenomenal. He was attentive and super kind. On top of our main waiter being awesome, so were the hostesses and other employees! The vibes were so clear and they worked SO well as a team. We got checked up on and assisted with multiple employees. Ambiance: felt like a cute little family owned Italian joint. It was exactly how I envisioned it prior to coming in. Super chill, super casual. Food: calamari, lobster bisque, Caesar salad, pasta dish, and tiramisu were amazing. I highly recommend their homemade tiramisu dessert. It was one of the best I've had. Much better than some of the fancy spots I've been to! Calamari was perfectly cooked - not chewy or overly breaded.

It was by no means packed, there were a few tables empty the duration of our meal as people ate and left. But the service was INCREDIBLY slow. They sent out an amuse-bouche which was nice- bacon and pimento in a little wonton cup. Our appetizers came out more than 30 minutes later. We ordered our son's kid's meal first, before we ordered our apps, but it came out after our entree's which was closer to 7:15. I assume the kid's meal coming out late was an awful server mistake, I can't imagine it would take over an hour to make a burger and fry up some potatoes. The chef was nice enough to let us order the octopus from the tasting menu (it was the only reason we came here, didn't realize it was part of the tasting). I almost did order the 5 course tasting menu, because it looked really good- but I'm so thankful I didn't. The table behind us was seated before us and by the time we left he was only on his third course. I'm also always cold but it was really warm in the restaurant. Not sure if their ac was broken or if it couldn't keep up with the weather. Not knocking the restaurant for this, things happen. But they probably could've used another few fans. We were the one table in the middle so the air wasn't getting to us. Not knocking the restaurant at all for this, it's a hot hot summer and things like this happen. The kid's meal portion was huge, actually bigger than my gnocchi order. We also ordered the brussels, pork ribs, seared tuna, tagliatelle, branzino, and pork chop. The pork chop was the most memorable thing. Based on this experience we wouldn't come back here on our own. We wouldn't rule it out though- if someone wanted to go here with us for any reason, we would consider giving it another shot.

I had to repeat my simple order four times. When I asked if they had any milk (for the kiddos) she laughed and just stared at me confused. I explained it was for the kids and we were dining in. She said she wasn't sure and then over a minute later confirmed they didnt. I asked for four water cups and that seemed to be another confusing task and I had to repeat that while she got several options for cups (putting them back and taking them out) before handing them to us, and then couldn't remember if we wanted water or a fountain drink. Needless to say our order was incorrect. We received a deep dish pizza, which we did not want but ate regardless because we were hungry. The Stromboli was very good, but the crust was turning soggy after sitting for 10 minutes. On a positive note, the tirimisu was awesome! The tables didn't have any napkins or condiments for pizza/pasta (cheese, red pepper, or oregano) but up by the soda fountains they had one of each. The problem with that is of course people would take those to their table and not put them back. To avoid awkwardly requesting to use them and then bring them back we just decided not to bother. I cannot imagine why the restaurant wouldn't provide these at the table or at least have more available. Ambiance was good. Typical pizza shop - booths and some tables. Walk up to order. Nothing overly fancy, but perfect for a Friday night out.

I've also worked through several other pasta dishes and they've all been solid. The pizza is good and the meatballs are especially tasty. Bottom line, you get the quality of a sit down Italian restaurant at more affordable prices. That makes it an easy choice when you want something good without checking your budget first. They even offer bottles of wine around $30 if you want to make it feel a little more like a night out. It's truly a family run place. The husband and wife have been working here for as many years as I've been coming, and that consistency shows. They don't make their own desserts other than the cannolis, which is easy to forgive given everything else they do well. This place is a clear step above most fast casual Italian spots. While I did find another really good pie in Andy's Pizza, even that as great as it is did not quite measure up. Only today, did I try the Pomodoro location in Sterling, not really expecting it to measure up (as I had previously heard it was different), but wanted to at least say I tried it before giving up on ever tasting the perfect pie again. I am delighted to report that the extra cheese pie I ordered was *exactly* the way I remember it from the defunct Pomodoro Fairfax location. The perfect sauce, the moderately salty whole milk mozzerella cheese with a a crust that has just the right consistency was all intact - no change from my fine memories. In short, it was a perfect match and a perfect pie! It goes without saying I will be back, but next time I will try the Chicken Parm (another standout from Pomodoro Fairfax).
