If you want snacks and drinks, that's fine, too. If you want wine or microbrews, they've got it. If you just need to go potty, you won't find a cleaner place to do your business. And if your dog needs to do the same, well they've even got Rowdy's Rest Stop just for dogs to pee, poop, and play. Very friendly staff. Can't say enough about that, but it makes all the difference in what makes Morton's best. Although I have to admit I'm a devout fan of Buc-ee's, I sure wish there were more than just the one Morton's location. It's so well-done, I couldn't believe there aren't more. So many things happening in this place - people making fudge, candied nuts, all kinds of jerkee; a huge BBQ station where employees shout out every time they either make or sell a sandwich? All kinds of fun merchandise - from clothes to shoes, to toys - a full gift shoppe. Employees are amazing - engaged, kind, energetic - definitely seem to care about what they do. Management salaries are posted out front for hiring purposes - pay is real high which is great, but even better, seems like those managers are doing a great job leading employees for that $$$ So, if you ever see a Buc-ee's I recommend you go in and see it - it's pretty hard to explain but it is quite something.

This time instead of exploring their packaged snack products I thought about how much room we have left in our car and flying it home so I decided against it. I did buy 3 of their small cup size Blue Bell dark chocolate ice cream- for all of us but the cashier gave only one spoon. It tasted so good I had hubs go get me a large size one since I didn't eat a normal lunch and it was past 5 pm. While I waited in the car with the grandpup. I wanted to find some Bucee items for Doc since she's been our road trip driver plus made all the arrangements for hotels, tickets to parks, dinner show, etc. We all got different things: hubs got small bags of jerky, Doc got her favorite brisket sandwich to share with her Frenchie, a sausage on a stick and 3 peach cobblers for each of us to try. Sunny reached out to a customer, Alex (I'd post his last name but I didn't ask permission), at his store who graciously took time out of his own day to bring me gas where I was stuck on the highway. He did not have to do that; nor did Sunny have to ask anyone. There wasn't anything in it for them. They both showed their true kindness and are people that work to keep human kindness moving forward. It's easy to access off the feeder, and the parking lot is laid out in a way that helps reduce traffic. The mcdonalda here has its own drivethrough. It also has a big seating area and several ordering screens so you don't get stuck in a line. The restrooms are spacious and clean. I wish they had paper towels in addition to the air dryers but unfortunately they don't. The convenience store has all the usual things and some extra gift shopping items. They do now have electric car chargers ! However, they could use more gas pumps. They have a reasonable amount but here (more than other places) people will leave their car parked in a spot to go inside and there's often a wait. One of my favorite things (as someone who travels with dogs) is they have a lot of nice grassy areas not directly on the busy feeder road.
