Cinnamon is absolutely awesome! I've never been that crazy about Indian food, but this place turned me on to the cuisine. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find another Indian restaurant that is nearly as good. I've been frequenting Cinnamon for about 5 years and have always had delicious meals. I'm not one for buffets, and have always ordered off the a la carte menu. The shrimp Vindaloo is delicious. The sauce is more tomato based than other places I've tried, the nan bread is to die for, and the staff often brings complimentary appetizers of deep fried, batter dipped vegatables. The staff is wonderful, friendly and welcoming. They take a team approach in providing service, and they are all a pleasure. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and the decor is a bit dated ...and looks sort of like a cafeteria, but don't let that put you off. Nice people. Great food. Fair prices. read more

They really do overdo the cinnamon (or actually cardamom) spice in everything here. The dishes all kind of taste the same and the chicken tikka masala is not to die for - which is a must for me to give a high rating to an Indian restaurant, That being said, service is good and food is overall well made. I think I would rate this place higher if it was closer for me to get to - as it would be a good neighborhood spot. I've been back 3-4 times in the past year for the weekday lunch buffet and the experience has always been good. Lots of choices. Good value. Spacious seating set up. I was in the area with my wife one weekend and I took a chance that she might enjoy it as a date night. She really did and still talks about it. My wife & I have gone to this place numerous times for their excellent lunchtime buffet. But until yesterday, we have not eaten there for dinner. Even though the state had just opened up indoor dining, we & our in-laws ate outside. Our server was efficient & attentive, and we enjoyed a nice, shady spot. We started off with nice chicken kabob and lamb Seek appetizers in addition to a great & varied Bread Basket. Our entrees, respectively: Chicken Makani & ChickenJaipuri, Lamb Rogen Josh & Lamb Kachi Mirchwala as well as Vegetable Saag Paneer were all tasty and appropriately spicy (heat-wise, we ordered everything on a scale of 4 out of 10, but I think even 6 out of 10 would've been OK if you [like myself], prefer it with "some kick" but not too hot). The quality & quantity of all dishes were quite good. We had a very good experience, and we will definitely soon return to Cinnamon. We enjoy supporting local businesses in the midst of this Covid-19 induced bummer of a summer, and the BYOB aspect of most ethnic restaurants helps as well. The all you can eat lunch buffet is the best deal with all sorts of curries and goodies to even dessert. Everything tastes fabulous all the time. Delicious food and always attentive staff! The lunch buffet provides a wonderful variety of both meat and vegetarian dishes. They are very accommodating to my husband and daughter who are gluten-free. The buffet is labeled very clearly with what is a gluten-free option and what isn't. At today's lunch buffet, I REALLY LOVED the chicken curry and the chicken tiki masala. The goat masala and the lentil balls in cream sauce were just ok, but with so many choices, it was a deliciously good deal at $9.99 for the buffet... and that included fresh naan that the waiter brought to the table w/ out me asking for it. The service was nice and friendly. The decor is ok... I'm not really a fan of a white (office-like) drop-ceiling in a restaurant, but I guess you have to consider that this is in a strip mall. I would definitely recommend the lunch buffet over "a la carte" dinner, since its a much better deal and has several good choices. I would like to first say that this is no Chand Palace. First the two items that you take for granted in Indian cuisine were to me sub par. Those items were the Basmati Rice and the Naan. The rice was very dry and forgettable and the Naan tasted like warm pita bread. Also the Naan is not on the buffet but it is brought to your table at their discretion. The yogurt sauces no matter what they were named pretty much tasted the same. The Vegetable Pakora was very appetizing as was the Chicken Makani. The lamb dish was very home-style. Tasty but really did not fit well with the other items. The Tandoor Chicken had the taste of that Bourbon Chicken in any mall's food court. It was not what I expected. The deserts were flavorless. I know this seems like a very negative review but I actually had a decent dining experience. As others have mentioned, it is rather surprising to find such high quality Indian food in a strip mall. Especially one named Cinnamon. Regardless, the food here is delicious. Being true Americans we naturally ordered chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. We also had some catfish curry, veggie dal, and mango lassi. All of this was excellent, so why the three stars? Price. If I were to give a rating based solely on quality of food this is easily a four star review. However, I cannot in good conscience tell you that $5 for fairly small pieces of garlic naan is reasonable. Neither is $15 for chicken tikka masala, $16 for catfish curry, or $12 for dal. Thank God, this was an expensed business dinner! Maybe it's because there are far less Indian restaurants here in NJ than in CA, but I could easily have gotten this entire meal for about half the cost back home with quality just as good, if not better. But if you've got money to burn and a craving for some Indian, you will not be disappointed. read more

Cinnamon is just loosing all its luster. I used to be crazy about this place and never missed an opportunity to lunch here. Fast forward 3 years and it's all gone now. Predictable menu, less vegetarian options, thick chewy breads, uncooked rice and tasteless deserts. Add the better competitors coming up nearby it's going downhill for the restaurant. I thing which remains good is the service, people here are nice and efficient but the food, as I mentioned, is a downer. Hope they make it better. read more

I travel often, and everywhere I go I try the local Indian establishments. I also cook Indian fairly well, so take it from me that CINNAMON IS EXCELLENT! It would have to be in my top three over-all picks out of the countless places I have eaten at. The service was a perfect combination of funny, attentive, intuitive, and welcoming. They not only give you the obligatory papadum and (excellent) chutneys to start, but onion pakora (onion rings fried in chickpea batter) as well! As a vegetarian, there were excellent options. I had a paneer dish spiced medium, and not only was the sauce was cooked perfectly with the right texture, but the paneer was clearly fresh. I also had an very well done kheer. I note on the spicing: medium may be too hot for those who are used to American spicing. The kitchen definitely airs on the spicy side, which is good if you love Indian food. read more

I eat here all the time for lunch and on weekends as they are VERY child-friendly and my baby loooooves the naan. It's a 10.95 all-you-can eat buffet with authentic indian food. The clientele is largely indian/south asian and the chef is known for his knowledge of the various regions of indian cuisine. Although service varies (widely), a basket of fresh naan is delivered to the table early-on and it is pillowy soft and piping hot. I always have a mango lassi but they give you water immediately which is a low cost alternative. The buffet contains the usual staples: tandoori chicken, chicken korma, many vegetarian options and a delicious okra dish (I usually hate okra). At lunch there are large tables of office workers, on the weekend (days) many tables with children. (Kids LOVE the naan). Try the desserts *(buffet has four) the sweet potato (grated) with coconut milk is the best! read more
