My friend recommended Comfort Cakes and gave me the Instagram account to look through all their previous work. It all looked so amazing but I still wasn't sure what I wanted. I was able to contact the owner, Marlitta, and together we worked on a flavor profile and what I wanted the cake to look like (kind of) all I said was "eleganza" and boy did she deliver!! It had the most beautiful mirror-like chocolate drip that would make even the most skilled GBBO contestant jealous, beautiful buttercream piping topped with actual peanut butter cups and the cake itself was the most delicious and satisfying I have had in a while. I'm so glad that I didn't go store-bought for this and my boyfriend really appreciated the effort Marlitta went through to make it. We will definitely be returning for more!

My wife and I ordered the Strawberry Banana Pudding, Strawberry Shortcake Cookie, and the ____?___ cookie (i dont know the name lol). Strawberry Banana Pudding: Light, airy whip cream surrounded by vanilla wafers and banana pudding. Fresh strawberries sliced and mixed throughout. Not as dense and heavy as traditional banana pudding, which I appreciate. It came in a decently sized cup. (will upload photo when available) Strawberry Shortcake Cookie: Incredible! Almost an apple to apples comparison to what we nostalgically remember as the Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bar. The only swap is the ice cream for frosting. The strawberry flavor is pinpoint to the original ice cream bar. I highly recommend! The _______cookie?: It looks like a traditional chocolate chip cookie laced with mini pretzels, M&M, Reese's Pieces, and possibly a caramel or brown sugar glaze. It was sinfully delicious! The showcase had plenty of "this" cookie but the gentleman behind the counter went to the back and got me a fresh cookie. I didn't ask but much appreciated. Friendly staff, I noticed other customers were getting sweets fresh from the back without request. Thats a great sign of the quality and freshness this place is pumping out. Will come again :) All in all, we spent $18.54 (WILL UPLOAD MENU, RECIEPT, AND STRAWBERRY BANANA PUDDING CUP WHEN AVAILABLE)

We were initially looking at a different bakery that my family had used for years but had an…read moreunpleasant experience when we went to discuss our wedding cake. When we looked for an alternative, Platinum was recommended by two people we know, so we booked a tasting. They had us at "yum"! We sampled a few items and were floored. Everything we tried was delicious, so much that it was hard to make a decision. We wanted it all! After talking for a bit about our fall theme and looking at some ideas we had found online, we settled on a three-tier cake that had spice cake in the top two tiers (think a light version of a gingersnap) and a marble vanilla/chocolate as the bottom for our guests with less adventurous tastebuds. We went with a vanilla buttercream, which was lighter and a little less sweet. Superb! When we arrived at our wedding reception, the first thing we noticed was the cake. It was beautiful. They nailed the design and the flavor. We shared a piece of each, and both tiers came out perfect. Moist, delicious, not overly sweet or rich. This will definitely be our go-to bakery in the future.

Was escorted to our table by a lovely hostess, but that's when the stellar service ended. A woman came over to our table who ended up being our server to abruptly tell us to hand her the tip that was on the table. The table hadn't been bussed from the previous occupants, our server didn't acknowledge that, or greet us, or introduce herself, she just told us, "hand me that money please". Welcome to Jersey I guess! Anyhow, it's a typical NJ diner with an unnecessarily massive menu, extremely large portions, but still relatively fair pricing. Our server was clearly experienced, but she was very curt and not friendly at all. Food was plentiful and mostly enjoyed. The hash browns were burnt, and very different, as the texture under the top crust was like mashed potatoes and they weren't seasoned at all. The eggs needed salt and pepper also. The French toast was good. The French toast with apples was also good, but had too much apple and whipped cream. It was like a dessert. It's a diner so I wasn't expecting Michelin worthy food, but I was so put off by the service, it colored the rest of the experience.
