We finally had a chance to try out the new VIP lounge and wathced The girl with the dragon tatoo and I think they did a nice job. The bar is nicely done and the lounge is also tastefully decorated, however I think they could have gone just a little further to really make it look and feel special. Unfortunately they don't have thier liquor licence yet so you can't actually bring your alcoholic beverage into the movie theatre which is too bad because I like to sip my drinks slowly and enjoy it! The theatre itself has nice spaceous 'lazy boy' kind of half reclining rocker chairs?? Leatherette but I wish they had the leg rest part, might as well have gone the full nine yards, but anyways, there is also an armrest for each person and individual swing out trays and cup holders which are a nice size. They do take orders up until the trailers start so you can order drinks and food from a select menu, mostly casual eats, but they did have yam fries and angus burgers along with the popcorn, Well worth a visit! Smaller theatre 19 and up and limited seating. Better go check it out while its still clean and the chairs still have support! read more

Not good. So I usually use my mobile app to buy tickets and it says there no need to print and just go up to the person to scan the ticket etc. Person that works there says we still have to go to the counter and print ticket I was so annoyed I mean what is the point of buying tickets online if you have to line up still? Anyway, we go to the counter the kid that works there didn't seem to know what he is doing so we waited awhile. Then we get to the theatre seats are so awful it's like they are super old, theatre stinks like saliva and private parts juice. Then we order popcorn and drinks for the movie. Let me just say if you are paying $20 for popcorn and drinks at least make it decent! Popcorn was old and chewy no flavour and my root beer tasted like ice tea cause it was so flat! Supposed to be Barq's root beer no bite at all. If it wasn't for my scotiabank free movie I wouldn't come here at all! But maybe now I'd rather go to empire studio to pay! At the moment this is probably the closest theatre to my house so I go out here every so often. The place is huge and offers a variety of films but never for cheap! This place is expensive as is the food, of course. I am always happy with the movie but the theatre is never clean. Ever! Or at least not when I have been there. read more

This is the second time I've been to the VIP section of this theatre, and I've had the same experience both times, The first time we gave them a break because it was a holiday - as someone who worked in the service industry for years, I get not wanting to work on Christmas Eve! However, today is just another Sunday, and we sat in the practically empty lounge for at least ten minutes without being acknowledged. There is no shortage of staff, two people are behind the counter of the bar chatting, one is sweeping, and another two have walked right by us. We ended up walking to the bar to order, which is something people who pay for an extra service should not have to do. read more

I love this theater. Great people, its spacious unlike Metrotown for example, and there are lots of things to keep the kids entertained. Only downside is that they don't have those uber cool, make your own soda machines there. YET. Great food options, very few queues when buying food and lots of screens showing movies that may have released just a week or two ago, (I like these, the theaters are almost empty and you get great seats). They COULD have more staff manning the ticket counters though, there always seems to be a queue and only one person behind the counter. read more

Theatre is a typical Cineplex, where it excels is the VIP theatre. For those over 19 you can have food/alcohol/popcorn served in your theatre seat. The VIP menu is typical bar/snack foods, try the buffalo chicken tenders, the sauce had some bite to it. The burgers are ok, the meat is not the best taste/texture (pre made patty). Chicken burgers are better. The drinks are good, there is a decent selection of cocktails, wine & beer. The VIP seating is great, large lounge style chairs with tray tables to have food/drinks. The VIP lounge is nice as well, far nicer bathrooms (individual washrooms) but they are frequently messy; paper towels everywhere, out of soap. I think it's worth the pice of the ticket upgrade for VIP; smaller theatre, nicer seats and no kid noise ;) read more

Love coming to the vip theatre, and have been for years. I expect to pay more for tickets for more room and seat selection, and have no problem with it. Also I have been used to paying a little more for drinks and concession food. But I've noticed the last couple times I've been there , the food and drinks have absolutely skyrocketed. For a regular Caesar drink in a small glass was 11.50? And the signature Caesar 14.00? The hamburger and fries were outrageously priced as well. $18.00 I don't expect gourmet quality, but at the prices now charged, I would expect it to be better than it is. These prices will now keep me away from the vip theatre, and the movie theatres in general. There is so much good television and movies I can watch from home. I like going to the theatre from time to time to get out of the house, but not with the rip off the vip experience now is. read more

Note: my review is specific to a recent experience in the VIP Lounge I have to say, I was extremely excited when the new VIP Lounge first opened, and thought it would only enhance my movie-going experiences. Sadly, the service (or lack thereof) I received there so lacking that it really puts me off the whole "VIP" experience. Myself and my wife went to a show this past weekend and intended to have a drink and an appetizer in the lounge before it began. The lounge itself was quite bare, and with an abundance of staff seemingly on duty, I figured we would be served in not time. How wrong I was! We made friendly eye contact with a few servers before taking our seats, looked over the menu and quickly decided on what we wanted. Then, we waited. And waited, and waited and waited. After about 10 minutes of waiting, a server came by with the order for the couple in front of us. Great, I thought. Now we can flag her down and place an order. Not a chance. She didn't so much as glance in our direction before she took off and headed towards the bar. At this point, a mob of 4-5 staff members (two of whom were wearing suits, so I imagine at least one of them was the manager) emerged from the kitchen and took up station at the register near the bar. Still nothing. 5-7 employees, and almost empty dining room, my hand literally waiving in the air for 5 more minutes, and still I couldn't flag someone down. Sure, I could have left my seat, went to the bar and asked to be served, but really, in this day and age, is that what it has come to? Chasing down servers, pleading with them to take my business? After 20 minutes of this, we finally gave up and left to go across the street to the Big River restaurant where our prompt, smiling server nearly fell over in disbelief over our experience. Great concept, maybe great food? I wouldn't know. But really, if the very basics of service are lost on the manager of this establishment (and his/her staff), the VIP Lounge will not last long. As a customer service manager myself, I know what good service looks like, and this definitely was not it. On a side note, the VIP theatre itself has always been great and I fully recommend it to anyone who enjoys comfortable seats, tons of space and a friendly atmosphere. Just don't try to order anything in the VIP lounge - sit in the comfort of your movie seats and the friendly staff will come to you within seconds. Sincerely, Disappointed. read more

Movie theatre is about the same as any other Silvercity, but the low rating is because my car was vandalized in the underground parking lot. The underground lot is not well lit and I have yet to see security go down there to patrol. Also, remember how you came in because I've seen cars go around in circles trying to find the exit. I think it may have to do with the painted sign that says "Fire Exit" (with the words Fire in tiny letters, and the word Exit in huge letters), which lead people in the wrong direction. If you value your car, stay away from this place until they get adequate security on premises or park in an area with high visibility and traffic. I emailed them about their security problems, but they never responded. So that should give you a hint that they don't really care. read more

Bring I.D if you look young. This theatre is the best!!! I love the food, the comfy leather seats and the service. It's a very clean theatre, the VIP area is just amazing !! No kid zone !! There's a lounge to hang out there (Once again no kid zone at this lounge). There's alcoholic beverages for those who drink. You can order from your theatre seats. Gosh I could keep going on about this place. It's not busy like other theatres, probably because it's a little bit on the pricey side. read more

Can't speak for the main theater but the VIP 19+ is well worth it. The seats are comfortable and I quite enjoy being able to book my seat and not have to sit through obnoxious children and young teens in movies that their parents shouldn't be allowing/bringing them to. This theatre has really grown up over the last year. Originally having a really bad layout in the lobby area I would usually avoid this theatre. After hearing about the new VIP theatres though I had to check it out. The VIP theatres to start are 19+ so you do not have the loud obnoxious children and teens ruining your movie experience. Next the layout of the seats has been changed so that you are now able to stretch out your legs and not hit the seat in front of you! The seats are also large rocking leather chairs (the front row are recliners!!!!). The arm rest is able to fold up between every second seat so that you and your other half can snuggle during the movie. One of the biggest perks with VIP is that it is assigned seating which means once you purchase your ticket it is your seat and there is no need to wait in long lineups on opening nights of movies. During the commercials and previews you are able to order food and non-alcoholic drinks to your seat from waiting staff in the theatres. There is also now a VIP lounge that serves alcohol! The alcohol is not yet aloud in the theatres but it is a good first step. The theatre also has an ultra AVX theatre which is their other standard for high end movie viewing but it allows the younger audience into these theatres. Ultra AVX also has assigned seating just like the VIP theatres. read more

This place has gone DOWNHILL in the past few years. It's soooo dirty. The bathrooms are repulsive, the carpet is gross and nearly all of the seats are broken. My friend had baby puke on her seat a few weeks ago that hadn't been cleaned since the mom & baby movie earlier that day. I avoid going to this theatre at all costs. Came here the other night for my friends birthday to the VIP service and honestly, its a waste of money! Do not do it people! The movie was 3D. Unfortunately, because I have glasses I did not notice this feature at all but if you ask me its just a gimmick to make more money. Then when you want to order food you have to wave the person down, which made me feel like an idiot. Once the server gets to where you are seated THEY TREAT YOU LIKE CHILDREN!!! By crouching or kneeling down to you while you are seated and THEN they take your order. It was super awkward and I was unimpressed of this stupid unnecessary feature. I almost felt violated of my personal space... Please take this and many other criticisms and negative feed back of the VIP service as a time to review this ridiculous customer treatment. I wont spend my money or waste my time feeling uncomfortable while I order. We are ADULTS being treated like children in an adult atmosphere. Not happy whatsoever! This review is for the VIP theaters. I came here last Saturday to see Life of PI which is great movie. I came here an hour early to hang out in the lounge area they have set up in the VIP area. It really nice with comfortable furniture with LCD TV, fire place, good lighting, and the best part a bar. The drink selection is not so great, they only have commercial beers. Where is the premium craft beer? The food is still the same fast food as in the other part of theater. Once you are a finished lounging, you move to the theater. This is an upgrade to the theater. The seats are a bit bigger, are leather, and they recline. The seats in the first row are extra special, they recline to almost flat position. This is needed as you are looking up at screen. As for the other seats, there is extra leg room and there is tables that slide out in front of you for your drinks and food. In addition, there is staff in theaters with Ipad's before the movies who will order drinks and food and take payment. Once the movie starts, they disappear. There is menu's beside every seat. This is a first class theater. There is news that the new theater on Cambie street in Vancouver will also have VIP rooms too. They only accept 19+ in the VIP area. read more

I WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER KIDS PARTY WITH DISORGANIZED no timing scheduling abilities ever again. That was the most ridiculous service ever. Running up a flight of stairs 7 times in the dark to give the kids their popcorn which they should of already had when there were lights. Or the fact that paying someone is suppose to be where the mom is not so stressed out or doing the running round back and forth. Shouldn't have had to find the 1 girl that was helping a party of 15, over and over again. And the fact that the staff don't even know who their manager is, is crazy. ND the supervisor Paige showed a non caring was of dealing with this situation. Do you really believe that playing with your badge is more important that talking to the parents that just dropped over $250 to watch a movie with their loved ones. Theatres are generally similar these days in selection, etc. so I look for customer service. I really think the people working there are generally really good. They say hi, thank you, ask me how I am, wish me a good day, etc. I think it's as clean as most big theatres - you cannot expect it to be spotless. I prefer this SilverCity than the one in Metrotown, which I am closer to... but also because I find the one in Coquitlam not as busy. read more

My 2nd time at this theatre as I just moved near Coquitlam from Vancouver. A heavy regular to cineplex theatres all around the lower mainland. Tonight I went to the VIP theatre after checking out Marine Drives new VIP theatre last month. Marine drive VIP was 10/10 ... my first time in vip .. was so blown away I had to check out Coquitlam's version since it was so close to home now. BIG MISTAKE. I don't want to throw Coquitlam under the bus this bad and I will say the actual building itself is a gem. Looks great layout is awesome lots of room very nice atmosphere etc. But whoever is IN CHARGE of the VIP area has some serious work to do. Where do I start. ... when you first walk in it actually looks very nice. Soon as you look around on floor you realize it's littered with pieces of paper towel. . Popcorn everywhere . Food.. straw wrappers etc. Place is a Mess. Soon as you get to your theatre there is zero introduction or help from the servers .. maybe not what they're told to do but marine drive servers go extra mile .. they introduce themselves. They seat you. They explain how it works etc etc. Place is immaculate looking...Not a huge deal really but if your the same damn company you may want to have equal service at both businesses ( esp when customers are paying high end prices to get the "VIP experience) Next we order food and beverages. Server was nice. We ordered : fried pickles (which were decent but not exactly hot) chicken quesadilla (worst thing I ever tasted. Cold . rubbery meat. Awful flavor. A poutine (came out literally almost cold. Had to be sitting there for 10 minutes from fries to get that soggy and stale) Large popcorn ( cold also not fresh at all made few hours before . The 2 drinks were good. As a person who's worked in a kitchen I know it's 100% up to the head chef or cook to ensure food is timed and made accordingly so it all is finished at same time then ran out in a hurry ESPECIALLY when customers are paying to get "VIP experience) the food actually ruined our moods so bad we did not even want to see the movie . Marine drive vip food was amazing . It was the reason we wanted to keep attending vip. Had their chicken tenders . Poutine and fried pickles + large fries . All fresh / hot / tasted amazing. How can 2 places differ so heavily ? Before movie started I go to washroom ... as I'm walking I realize the VIP lounge + hallway area to washrooms are an absolute mess. Paper towel scraps everywhere . Toilet paper strands all over . Popcorn again + straw wrappers everywhere. Washrooms looked like garbage. Every single 1 of them. Again not the worst I've ever seen considering it is a food / beverage business but wtf are you charging people double cost for if your "experience " is absolute S#*T. Maybe I'm just spoiled because my Marine Drive experience was day& night compared to the circus in coquitlam. The way I see it you have a small window time frame to blow the socks off your customers. .. between 6pm and 10pm is when I'm guessing is "primetime" for vip customers... how are you going to let your place of business tank & look like crap+ serve bad cold food ? Our movie started at 9pm.. no excuse for this tonight. Bottom line don't charge your customers 30 dollars for 2 movie tickets on a Tuesday if you cannot deliver. Very upsetting trip to the movies tonight. Will not be coming back to Coquitlam Cinaplex anytime soon. Time for a change... Will be checking out Landmark Cinema in Guildford next. read more

A big, clean, well-organized theatre that has something for everyone: a small food court, video game area, self-serve kiosks, etc. The seats are comfy and there are lots of movie choices on any given day. Parking is ample and relatively safe (no place is perfect). No complaints. read more

VIP is awesome. The seats are huge which is great but the private bathrooms were disgusting and had not been replenished for the night time movies (no toilet paper). The reason I gave one star is because I received horrible customer service from multiple employees on a different occasion. The wait time to receive my food at the concession stand was 24 mins due to poorly trained staff.(not sure how to enter a menu item into the till). I will not visit this location again read more

The theater is and most importantly clean, an issue that can be quite a turn-off for me. I like how concessions have such a large bar to handle a large volume of customers. Additionally staff is helpful, even when there are problems. For example I ran late and arrived in a cinima after it was 90% full and only the front seats were left. They were happy to exchange my ticket for another showing and did so without any fuss. The arcade is also a good size and quality for any theater. My main complaint that I would give is that they appear to over-sell their tickets past capacity for new-releases which did irk me some. read more

A well-maintained facility. VIP is expensive, but being able to be served alcohol in a theater is priceless.
