We watched *Project Hail Mary: The IMAX Experience® in 70MM Film*, and our seats were in the middle of Row D--so if you're planning to buy tickets, read this first... The cinema was very clean, spacious, and excellent overall, with plenty of parking. The theater itself was spotless, and the staff were very friendly. As for *The IMAX Experience® in 70MM*, it really needs no introduction--it was absolutely stunning and top-tier. If you're unsure about the best seating angle, it really depends on the movie! For a film like *Project Hail Mary*, which has a family-friendly tone with strong space visuals, sitting too far back isn't ideal--being a bit closer helps you truly immerse yourself in the scenes and the scale of space. But for movies like *Dune* (based on the trailer we saw), middle or back seats are definitely better. read more

The Michael movie early release on the 22nd was supposed to have all the merchandise for the movie available but when I showed the manager the web said that she said no not till the next day which isn't even the premiere date thats the 24th so I have to make special trip there and hope it's not all sold out it b3tter not be cineplex Langley get your shit together there have even been times ive gone to movie premieres EXPECTING THE THEMED MERCH OF THAT to be there only to find out you sold it weeks before the movie because someone didn't do there job and order the standard popcorn holders drinks etc. I wasn't to happy about that its happened more than once . Went there on a Wednesday to watch Oppenheimer because they have iMax, due to this the theatre was packed and very crowded which made it super stuffy. Did not help that the AC was probably not working.. The seats were not the most comfortable and the concession stand did not have the option of adding butter on the popcorn. There was also a very long line to get snacks, almost waited 20 mins and missed the first little bit of the movie. Maybe the experience would've been different if it wasn't one of the blockbusters? read more

Always loved the theatre with the spaceship on top. The arcade games were fun. I didn't have any problems with them but I did see some other parties have some troubles. There were quite a few games out of order though The staff were friendly and the concession stands were not that long of a wait even on opening weekend for a big Hollywood movie. Rude staff member... I walked into building with my family and a staff member named Chris started to berate us in front of other customers about how we had used the wrong door to enter. I had purchased tickets in advance online. He kept going on about reading the sign that said enter in the right. I took a photo upon leaving and no sign can be seen? Even if we had missed a sign there is no reason to yell at customers and be generally not very hospitable. My kids were visibly shaken and upset. What a joke. read more

Theatre is run down, dirty with extremely poor food options. It was a surprise to see the theatre in such disrepair. The seats were dirty and the floors were sticky. No options to see the Wolverine/Deadpool movie in IMAX 3D which apparently is the only way to see the 3D to its full potential. What happened to this place? It used to be a fun place to go. The staff seemed excited to work at this location when the theatre was under the colossus name before CIneplex took over. Most likely the sign of the times for movies from what I can see regarding this theatre and with other options such as streaming, people are choosing not go, especially to this location. read more

We were visitng from WA and decided to check out the movies. Minus one star cause the movie we wanted to watch (wrinkle in time) was not available saturday night on anything but 3D. We ended up watching a normal Jumanji, which it was really funny but not the movie we wanted. So the selection of movies playing on IMAX or all those fancy experiences during a saturday night were meh. Another minus star because the consignment area was dirty, full of popcorn and it was confusing. Like we can order hotdogs in one place but if we want them with special requirements we had to go to the other side etc etc. The wait for our food was long too. On the plus side: plenty of parking lot. There is a Montana restaurant in the parking area. They have a mini arcade inside (yaay). Lots of areas were to order food and they have actual food! I got a bbq pulled pork hotdog that wow it was good. They also sale starbucks, froyo and different flavored popcorn . Maybe next time we go earlier, enjoy a fancy experience screen and I can up the stars. read more

The line up for buying food was huge although there was four staff selling at the same time. The problem was the pick up line. Only one staff was making the food that so many people were buying. Although I was there 20 minutes early, I missed 10 minutes of the movie. When I asked the reason, the staff was not responsive. I am not going there again. read more

Use the arcade with caution. The machines aren't working and are in a state of disrepair. We visited the theatre today and decided to catch a few games before the our show. To our disappointment we found that the first 4 machines we attempted to use were broken as the either wouldn't start at all or were missing pieces. We found the other machines we attempted to use weren't working as advertised either. We approached the staff who were unsuprised. We asked a manager if we could simply take a refund on the unused credits, rather than play roulette with the arcade games. It was explained to me by the Manager Caleb F that Tickets are non refundable, even in the event of user error. But on a plus note, the kids won't beg me to go to that arcade ever again so it's a net win. read more

My daughter and her friends were just there and were watching a movie when they saw a couple of big rats scurrying across the theater floor. They went to tell the staff who just shrugged it off like it was no big deal. Makes me think if they don't care about it that then when we are eating popcorn etc how clean is it there. Two things. 1) love the mice problem they have running through your feet. Stepped on one accidently half way through avengers and freaked out everyone around me. GROSS. 2) why do they insist to crank the heat in a packed theatre. Concession was closed after the show and was rather inhumane. Cons: Have been here a number of times over the last 2 years, no one ever seems to be on top of cleaning the main common area, the condiment area is often gross, and the theaters don't always get cleaned between movies. While I understand young workers are a challenge to motivate and that customers treat theaters like giant garbage bins, that's just no excuse to let things slide, seems there is a attitude of apathy and general lack of leadership here, cleanliness is definitely not a priority. I went to the VIP tonight with my boyfriend. I had ordered only a couple of drinks plus a couple when the movie ended (one for me and one for him). I told them I was going for a smoke and when I came back my drinks where gone. When I asked them about it they told me that I was cut off and I could not order any more drinks although I had already paid and even given a 20% tip every time. Very disappointed as I had already paid twice the average price for drinks that they just decided to take away and then place the blame on me. Will not be returning read more

Lets just say this theatre is a dump. I mean seriously. How it's still standing is beyond me. Went to go see XXX in IMAX (seriously did I just fork over $20?!?) and it was alright. Except for the following: - If someone orders the boxed popcorn (which is part of a Combo) have someone over at that counter readying it so when the guest comes over all they got to do is - PICK IT up instead of waiting 20min in line with one underpaid employee working that section. - If you're going to charge $20 for IMAX turn part of it into a lounge with bathrooms (YES Bathrooms!!!) + call it what it should be IMAX VIP. - Repulsive bathrooms. Disgusting, unclean, smelly, and grotesque - Bring back a LARGE drink. We all know the so called large you're charging us .50 cents more is just a medium. Bring back the REFILLS!! Why does it have to be this way? So here is some background on this once proud spaceship in Langley: It used to be part of the Famous Players chain, only to eventually become part of Cineplex. The change has not treated Colossus well. It seems to be in a general state of disrepair. Many armrests are broken/wobbly, the little lights on the stairs many are out, etc.. It seems the automated touch screen ticket dispensers are in a constant state of disrepair.... There was a restaurant, the Pod, that was above the crowd with somewhat reasonable prices and adult beverages, Cineplex closed it and it sits empty. There are display cases that FP would have filled with props from movies and such and now they are empty or have posters advertising how great Cineplex is. Argh!! You used to be able to get almost any flavour shaker for your popcorn, it was great! Pepsi galore, and dill pickle popcorn, oh how I spent many a hard earned dollar there... now there aren`t any flavours and they switched Pepsi to Coke, ugh. Pizza Hut and New York Fries, gone! Recently I went for a special `live`event (about the tv show LOST), that was not live for the west coast. For stuff and giggles, the projectionist decided to start playing the end of the east coast feed, which ended up including a clip we didnt want to see yet. A couple of us went out and complained and they tried to tell us that it was the pre show, NO it was definitely not we tried to explain. However, they just didn`t care. They wouldn`t stop it. Then they announced oh, it would be starting half an hour later than they had on the ticket and website, and then blamed Bell. Even though they had the schedule to check themselves... It is just a bit of a comedy show to go there, I`ll go if there is something I can`t miss, but otherwise I`ll save my money and go to 5th avenue in Vancouver or Pacific Cinematheque. read more

Went to watch Intesteller, Sunday 16 Nov at 6:40p 1) They block YELP.CA from within their local WiFi - I wonder why? 2) Toilets were extremely dirty, toilet paper everywhere and sinks counter tops filthy - looked at the cleaning chart, was done "5 minutes" before. Yeah, right. 3) No-one serving, waited 5 minutes for someone to come by at OutTakes - was there for a 6:40 showing 4) Yam fries were burnt 5) NONE of the tables had been wiped down, all were dirty. Went upto 5 of the staff who were stood round chatting with each other, so we asked, nicely, if someone could come over and give them a wipe. They huffed. We waited by the tables and they sent someone over who just re-arranged the chairs and then left. Asked again then finally someone came. 6) The condiments area was dirty, there were grease marks on the top, ketchup and containers everywhere, a staff member came over, refilled the straws and walked away. 6) First time at an Imax... not bad, but unimpressed. UltraAVX is better. UAVX has wider screen (16:9 I think) and felt like it was more immersive. iMAX had 4:3 and was cut-off top and bottom. 7) The inside of the complex is very dated, you can tell it's had a revamp, but it looks like something out of the 80's, and that's the bad 80's, not the good 80's! 8) The seats were very narrow, but at least they kinda reclined. Overall, for nearly $100 spent on tickets, food and drinks for 2 people - won't go there again. read more

Massive theater, but staff sucks and cleaning sucks.

I've been to this Cineplex a few times and I have to say that the experiences have been positive so far. IMAX quality is amazing albeit that the seats were a little bit narrower than usual. The cinema rooms and washrooms are always clean (unlike Richmond Silvercity) This cinema caters to an older crowd, which is nice, as I didn't have some teenager talk, email/text and kick my seat during the movies. read more

This monster mega theatre is the biggest show in town around here. I like the fact that the parking is plentiful, there is an East Side Mario's right in the parking lot for a pre-show snack, and the lineups are never long. They always have plenty of staff, and they keep it relatively clean. If you want a job at Colossus though, you have to have a facial piercing, and greasy hair. If you have loads of face bling and really greasy hair, you get to serve popcorn and skittles. read more

One of the biggest theatre I have been to other than the one in Coquitlam. I would highly suggest getting a Scene card if you don't have one already. You get points per movie and when you get 1000 points, (equivalent of watching 10 movies), you get a free movie ticket. read more

I remember when this theater first opened. It was the place to go if you lived in Surrey, White Rock, Langley, and Abbotsford. This was mainly due to the wide variety of movies and showtimes, and not the ticket prices which were much steeper than other theaters in the Fraser Valley at the time. I would say that it isn't quite as grand as it was when it first opened. A lot of the original food options have disappeared, like many other theaters nowadays. However, there is still a great selection of restaurants scattered around the theater (many of which offer dinner/movie ticket combos) which is super convenient when planning a night out with friends/a date. The building has experienced some wear and tear and it can get quite crowded (I find Sunday matinees are really the best time to go). But the theaters all have a good layout with reasonably comfortable seats and lots of leg room. I still think this place has a great selection of movies and lots of showtime options, and if nothing else, it gets nostalgia points for those of us who remember the big fuss when it first opened. read more

Pretty much like most theatres to me (Cineplex ones that is). I had bought my tickets online... came in, did the self checkout (the barcode scanner wasn't working), went to theatre... watched movie. Tons of parking... it was a Monday night, not assuming it's usually a busy movie night... most people are probably waiting to fill the place on Tuesday. Not in my regular haunts... but wouldn't stay away from it... very average experience. read more

Living in Langley, I have frequented Colossus MANY a time. I would like to say that I have to agree with Andrew S.'s review and say that it has definitely started to take a downward spiral from what it used to be. The joint isn't all THAT bad though.. I will say that the prices are very high, as most theatres can be these days. Having a SCENE card is a huge bonus and I definitely recommend it. They also recently introduced a pre-show game on your smartphone where you can win points/prizes which is a nice little added bonus considering you pay an arm and a leg to watch a movie. I do love that they have many different features at Colossus. You can see IMAX, AVX, 3D movies and they even have D-BOX now with the interactive seats. To be honest, D-BOX was NOT worth the $50 for two tickets.. A good experience, but I will probably never buy it again. Way over priced. All in all, good place to see a movie but be prepared to spend a buck or two. read more

This giant theatre is in the shape of an alien ship and you can see it from the highway.... (hmmm... maybe this is how they lure the crowds in)... Packed with a ton of movie screens and an imax screen, this theatre is ALWAYS busy. They have a New York Fries (yum), a Yogen Fruz (yummier), KFC, and a Pizza Hut - this is on top of the usual movie fare that is available. The staff here is pretty friendly, and they're really good about ticket sales. For instance, you walk into a movie its PACKED, the only space available is in the very FRONT row, and you have a neck/back problem - they're happy to give you a voucher for a free movie next time. This is just another one of those insanely larger overpriced movie theatres. As Dianna says it does have a lot of food choices but the costs are high and the place is not so clean. Slightly better food at Outtakes than we expected. I had the Bacon & Bleu Burger and my wife tried the Beef Chili Poutine. Both were served warm. The burger was pretty tasty. The bacon was crisp and detectable. The bleu cheese was pretty mild and hard to detect, but one or two bites it really shined. There was a bit of chipotle kick in there too. And the bun was nicely toasted. TOASTED. It was $7 The Poutine was gooey and melty, just like you'd expect. The chili was not very spicy, but had a nice tomatoey, beefy flavour. big theater, lots of screens, and an Imax screen.... but those are the only good things. The prices are RIDICULOUS!!! The tickets alone are *$cha-ching$* ... don't even think about snacks..... they don't even make the popcorn fresh anymore. They keep it in bags under heat lamps.... eeek! And it didn't even taste good when it was "fresh" ******TIP **** GO to The Clova Cinema on the main street in Cloverdale. Only one screen, but a really cool old theater with great ticket and snack prices.... BRING YOUR OWN CONTAINERS for drinks and popcorn and they fill it for only 2.50... and candy is only 1.50 :) Avoid the big chain theaters and support local history instead. :) It makes for a more interesting movie and dinner date. When I was a kid and growing up to Kelowna, coming to visit my aunt in Langley and going to Colossus was such a highlight. Mostly because there isn't a theatre quite like it, with the giant spaceship on the outside. Growing up in Kelowna, our biggest theatre played 5 movies (now it's 10!), so Colossus always blew my mind because you had a choice between like 30 movies. Now that I live in Vancouver, the Colossus excitement has died down but I still have a special place for it in my heart. It has an awesome IMAX theatre, there's lots of food and movies to choose from, and it's a fun place to go see movies with friends. It's definitely a must if you are in the Langley area. read more

The employees here were amazing!! Super friendly, fast service and just wonderful overall. However I found that the management was very poor; I witnessed one manager yell at an employee for not filling up the popcorn machine (even though I had noticed that the employee had just then dumped the last batch) and also saw another manager badger a different employee for not tucking in their shirt. The management team just seems to not respect their employees enough for the amount of good quality work they do. My advice to them is to enforce the rules, but at the same time be respectful and kind rather than cruel and harsh. But I loved my experience overall! read more
