The Starlight Room is a beautiful experience…read more Antique style cushy couches with sparkly chandeliers. What a unique experience! People will come from other cities to visit the Starlight Room. There are other smaller theaters here I still need to check out, the Rose Theater and the Rosebud. I love the kind theater staff and popcorn seller. Beer is also available. The popcorn is especially delicious. You can flavor it yourself with a selection of creative savory spices.

The Rose Theatre is one of the jewels of Port Townsend. I've never seen a theater like it before…read more Delicious fresh popped popcorn (without the rancid oil smell), REAL butter, numerous toppings to flavor your popcorn, savory and sweet, from cinnamon/sugar to nutritional yeast. YUM! And the prices are reasonable. No gouging here. The concessions are friendly and homey. You can get a cup of ice and they don't charge you for the cup! The usual candy selection, plus some exotic candies and sometimes even baked goodies. The entire lobby walls are covered in vintage movie posters. Ticket prices are ridiculously low! Most movies are only $12 for adults. If you're a member (membership begins at $100/year,) you can get $2 off the ticket price, plus earn points for other freebies and discounts. The whole theater is styled like the vintage theaters from the golden age of cinema. Velvet seats. Even hand-printed chalkboard marquees over the theater entrances. Old fashioned settees in the room off the lobby, and a vintage box office window. One of the theaters features hand-painted murals on the walls. One has been totally redecorated with sofa seating and little tea tables. Personal touch: Most movies begin with a personal description of the film to be shown, narrated by one of the theater's friendly staff. They might also include trivia or other items of interest about the director or the making of the film. There are no annoying commercials. Just a slideshow while you're waiting, of advertisements from local businesses. Then just a few previews and your movie starts. The sound quality is great and the theaters are small, so you always get a good seat. The theater is owned and run by local Port Townsend residents, who are often there, and will always try to make time for a question or a chat or even just a quick hello between rushing off to check the projector or close the heavy red velvet drapes before the film starts or fill a bag of popcorn. They run a selection of the latest box office hits, classic films, and even ballets and operas. This is especially special since we are so far away from being able to visit such amazing venues as the Met in person. If you're ever in Port Townsend, you MUST make time for a movie visit at the Rose. Going to the Rose Theatre is more than going to the movies, it's a total immersive experience! http://rosetheatre.com One comment about other Yelp reviews: There are new owners who have done a lot to improve the movie-goer experience over the past couple of years. Please ignore negative reviews from a few years ago. Some are petty and others just don't apply anymore. Thanks.

Came to SilverCity Riverport Cinemas and had movie snacks from Outtakes. I usually get popcorn and…read morethe usual movie snacks but I was feeling something more filling so decided to get outtakes. I got their chicken buffalo poutine and donuts, both of which were sooo good! The poutine was so flavourful and the chicken was crispy and saucy. The donuts were soft and they gave a caramel dipping sauce on the side which made it even better. Both the items were freshly made which definitely added to the taste. Giving one star less because the bathrooms in the cinema weren't clean despite there being so many stalls. It was the last show of the night but I've been to other cineplex and none have been this bad. The only time I come to this location is if I want to watch a bollywood movie!

Hubby ordered a Chicken Burger combo meal for himself, plus a poutine for our daughter and I to…read moreshare, and we had coupon for a free medium bag of popcorn. I was very happy to learn that the gravy on the poutine was vegetarian so I'd be able to eat it! Not an awesome poutine but it was better than I expected. Think I'd have preferred a larger serving of it but...it's a movie theatre and not a Costco so I guess I can't really complain about it! When I went to get our popcorn the person working at the counter asked me if I'd like to add butter or not. It costs extra for them to add butter so I took the popcorn as it was. Funny thing is...this theatre has dispensers where you can pump your own butter on to the popcorn. Why would anyone pay extra to add butter when they can pump the butter themselves for free?! From previous experience at a different SilverCity, they did ask last time whether we'd like to have the butter layered. So...I guess having different layers of butter throughout the bag as opposed to just one layer of it on top might be just cause for charging slightly more but...is it really worth an extra few dollars more?! The popcorn seems to already be kinda buttered already even without asking them to add butter or dispensing the butter yourself. I could see that some of the kernels were white and some were more yellowish from having butter on them. Service: Good Parking: Plentiful and free
