Cindy is my go to lash girl. She is extremely nice and will do your lashes based on the style you want (cat-eye, doll, or fan) and your eye shape. She makes you feel comfortable and gives you pillows while she is doing your lashes and plays soothing music -- I usually fall asleep and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. For the classic set, it is $120, and for the volume it is $140. I usually just ask her to go in between for $130. My lashes last for soooooooo long. I know she does fills for 2-4 weeks that range from $60 to $90 but I feel like my lashes usually still look great. Btw, you get a small discount if you pay in cash! It's been a couple months since I first went to Cindy, and I'm still so happy to be under her care! Oh boy. It's going to be a long review, but if you're going to skip this review, at least read the tidbit at the end about Cindy herself. Welp! here it goes: Consultation: Once you enter her little shop, she'll give you a warm welcome and ask you to be seated as she cleans and prepares her station for every incoming customer. If it's your first time getting lash extensions, Cindy will help you decide on the best style, length, and curl for your eye and face shape. Many eyelash technicians will have their own unique style, and Cindy does an amazing job of explaining what she does, answering any questions, and provide pictures or descriptions of how your lashes will look like. When I first met Cindy, I gave her only two requirements: No cat-eyes and a natural look please! I trusted that she would personalize my extensions based on her experience and my needs, and the finished product definitely exceeded my expectations. Nowadays, whenever I come back for refills, she already knows what I want, but she will still adjust my lashes depending on my circumstances (ie. If I am going on vacation for a while and need more volume, since I won't be seeing her for some time). Process: After deciding on a style you like, Cindy will get to work! She applies eye masks under your eyes, and then meticulously puts the extensions onto each individual lash. If you are getting refills, she'll begin by removing overgrown lashes before applying the extensions. In that case, you may feel a VERY light tug, but after that, all you have to do is close your eyes and sleep for 1.5 to 2 hours without feeling a thing! She's also very caring and wants her customers to be as comfortable as possible. She'll make sure to ask if the placement of the eye masks bother your eyes, if your headrest is comfortable, and even if it's feeling too warm or cold in her salon. I'm the type of person to bear through things even if they are a bit uncomfortable, but Cindy was able to notice my slight discomfort when laying down. She apologized, quickly readjusted her station for me, and told me to never hesitate again if I feel even the slightest bit of discomfort! The simple act was enough to show me that I can fully trust her and that she is genuinely kind and does all she can for her customers. Aftercare: Once she is done applying her extensions, she dries off the glue with a small fan and cleans your eyes/eye area after removing the eye masks. Then she'll give you a small mirror to look at your new extensions and talk to you about how to best care for them. After my first set, she was just as excited to show me my new extensions as I was to see them. They were exactly how I wanted them, and she continued to explain her thought process on what she did. She told me she followed the shape of my eyes and added necessary volume and length when needed because she didn't want to overwhelm me as it was my first time getting extensions. She was definitely correct in her assessment, and as mentioned earlier, we've continued to do the same style since, except in special cases if I won't be able to see her for a long time! Once she was done explaining, she sat with me for a good 5 to 10 minutes to answer all my questions about aftercare. She prepared me of how they would look like after a few weeks and even a few days. For example, she told me to not be too worried when I see them falling out because it's normal for them to fall with the natural growth cycle of your real lashes (This does NOT mean eyelash extensions make your natural eyelashes fall off btw!). She also reminded me to brush and dry them thoroughly if they ever got wet and that so many factors affect their duration, including the weather, natural body sweat/oils, etc. Every person has a different body type and lifestyle, but Cindy makes sure to educate you as much as she can to ensure your lashes last as long as YOU ARE WILLING TO PUT EFFORT IN THEIR UPKEEP (upkeep is normal of eyelash extensions in general). Cindy Herself: Cindy has amazing work ethic, and it's something that I sense to allow myself to fully trust someone's care. From the beginning, I can see how she works so hard throughout the year and each day with few breaks and how most of her communication involves her customer's well-being and needs. She is so transparent in what she can and can't provide for you in service, and even if she doesn't voice it, her results and actions speak for herself. She doesn't rush her job, and you can feel her delicately sifting through your lashes to make sure she doesn't miss any. Cindy has been my #1 lash lady ever since I've moved back to the bay. Let me tell you, I have so much love for this woman and am so lucky I found her a year ago! First off, to trust someone with your lashes is literally one of the scariest things. They don't grow back as easily as your hair does from a bad haircut! More like 3.5 stars. I've been getting lashes for over 1.5 years now, in both San Francisco and Los Angeles (land of fab lashes). I just moved to SJ and my usual lady in SF was out of town so I found Cindy. Cindy is super nice and her work definitely looks good. I can tell that she really wants her customers to be happy. My first time with her, she gave me a volume set. I asked for a natural set but she thought she was doing me a favor (despite how many pictures we had gone through and the time we took discussing what I wanted). Luckily they looked good and the lashes were super soft, so I didn't mind. What I did not expect was for the lashes to take 3 HOURS. I'm sorry but 3 hours is UNACCEPTABLE. I'm not saying her work is not great. What I am saying is that someone could easily do the same quality job in 1/3 of the time or less. My lash fills never take more than 45 min, or 1 hr for a full set. And trust me, this ain't my first rodeo. My friend also goes here and she says It usual takes 2 hours for a fill (wtf!?!?). Cindy is a sweet lady but I'm just appalled by the sheer amount of time it took her to get my lashes done. Ain't nobody got time for that! Also it irked the hell out of me that she takes her sweet time getting ready, and she just talks sooo much. To begin with, I've gotten my lashes done elsewhere before...but without a doubt, I definitely have to say this was the most meticulously I've ever had my lashes done. They look nothing short of amazing. I have the shortest, lightest, straightest, tiniest little lashes. They're basically invisible on their own. Cindy was great! She was very accommodating in scheduling my appointment, and when I got there she made sure she knew what kind of look I wanted before starting. The whole thing took about an hour and a half for a natural set, which didn't feel long at all; I just plugged in my headphones and two podcasts later I was done! I love that it doesn't weigh down my lids the way falsies sometimes do. The way it feels I honestly can't tell that there are dozens of synthetic hairs stuck to my eyes. After she finished, she explained how to take care of my lashes, and although I've noticed a few fall out, they still look pretty full after a week. I saw Cindy a few months ago and I am very disappointed, first with my experience with Cindy and more importantly with the damage that has been done to my real lashes. I have been getting extensions for years, and needed a new place to go in San Jose after moving from SF. I relied on the many great Yelp reviews and affordable rates and chose Cindy. Immediately after our session, I called her to let her know that I had eye pain, which felt as though some of my real lashes were glued together. She told me that this was normal and her clients usually complain about the same thing in the beginning but that it goes away. I know that is not normal. She offered to remove the lashes but the thought of going back to her salon and laying on her uncomfortable bed for another 1.5 hours (the time she quoted me to remove her work) was unbearable. Looking back I realize that in this situation, you really get what you pay for. The quality of the lashes Cindy used on me was poor and her skill level is basic. The lashes did not bounce, were very stiff and hard to brush through. I also have to mention, she did a very weird scrapping technique where she took maybe a qtip? and swept it on the line of my eyelid. It didn't so much hurt, but I have never felt that before. She also did not offer a lash brush to take home and forced me to take a photo without even letting me see the lashes first. Her hands were rough and she didn't speak at all or once ask me if I was ok. No music & no fan. I may have expected not the best quality due to her rates but I was most surprised by how unfriendly she was, especially after reading multiple reviews stating the opposite. read more

Cindy is very sweet and nice! My first appointment with Cindy she listened to what I wanted, but also gave me good advice. I usually get long lashes but Cindy advise me to get shorter lashes because since my lashes were naturally very short they aren't strong enough to hold longer lashes. Cindy explained to me what she was going to do and it would take around 2-2.5 hrs. I'm a person that cannot keep still for that long so I told her that I just move my legs around and she was fine with it. I've been going to Cindy for my last 4 appointments now and I really love her! I schedule my appointment for every three weeks by texting her and she's always so accommodating to me and tries to work with days to see me. Also her lashes stay so long! When I come in every three weeks she always tells me they still look so good and now my appointments are only 45 mins long! I'm also a person who sleeps on their face a lot! but I do take care of my lashes. When I wash my face I try not to scrub too hard, I kind of wash around it and splash water on my eyes. Relying on the 5 stars Cindy has, I wanted to try her to see if she could be my go to person in the South Bay. She told me over the phone that she can do a classic set (1:1 ratio) and would remove the few old lashes I had from a previous set. When she removed them, she was plucking out my natural lashes. I said "OW" multiple times and she apologized but continued to hurt me. The actual lashing part went fine, although the eye pads were in between my waterlines and rubbing my eyeball which was uncomfortable. I could feel her double checking her work during the last 30 minutes which made me feel secure that no lashes would be glued together. When she finished she gave me the mirror and what I got was not classic, it was a volume set except the fans were not fanned out, they were clumped together to look like classic. Regardless, I wasn't going to spend another 1.5 hours to correct this (although I'm not sure she could have otherwise I would have got a classic set to begin with) and they looked cute so I went on my way. The next day my eyes were extremely irritated so I took a close look in my mirror at home and came to find that over 50% of my lashes were glued together, which made me have to separate/remove all the lashes stuck together taking 4 hours of my next day and end up with a straggly looking set for my weekend event. I chose to not go back to her for the removal/fix because the first time around obviously did not go very well. I don't understand how the other multiple-year-loyal clients don't experience this same thing, maybe they're all used to it but the poor isolation of lashes is a marker of an amateur artist and I'm pretty disappointed honestly. read more

Got my lashes done by Cindy mid December. Was so excited because of all her great reviews, however, I was so underwhelmed. It took about 1.5 hours for her to do a full set, and my lashes felt a bit uncomfortable when attached and fell out really quickly. They started falling out around 1 week and then started looking really wonky by 1.5 weeks. I've had my lashes done at other places, and they've 1. never taken this long 2. never felt uncomfortable on my own lashes, and 3. never lasted less than 1.5 weeks. The worst part was that not only did my extensions come off, so did MY OWN LASHES! I lost so many lashes, and it left my lash line with gaps! Cindy is absolutely amazing! I have gone to her twice now and I will definitely be coming back. On my first visit she took her time to understand exactly how I wanted my eyelash extensions to look. She used a mix of synthetic and mink hairs to give me a dramatic look that still has a soft touch. Her prices vary from $110-140 depending on how dramatic you prefer your lashes. I went with dramatic for $140. The process takes about 1-2 hours. I would definitely recommend Cindy for lash extensions. read more

Have done my lashes a couple of times with Cindy (even for my wedding) and she is one of the best out there! I'm incredibly surprised how she manages to make my eyes not get watery at all, I'm very allergic and she's the only one that has been able to not get me that itchy feeling or watery eyes! 100% recommended! read more

This is my second time visiting with Cindy. She's super knowledgeable and very sweet. She spends time consulting with you and discuss what "look" you're going for and gives suggestions. The first time I worked with her, she did my eyelashes for my wedding and I got so many a compliments! The second time, I did natural eyelashes and they looked great!
