A few ups and downs in our history we did get seated right away this time and the only complaint was my food came out much later than the rest of the family. We checked in on Yelp. When we arrived we were 2nd on the list. I thought man my timing was perfect. We stood by the hostess stand for an hour as they sat 7 people in front of us. I asked for a manager to explain and was completely blown off. There was another couple who was first on the list who waited as long as we did. Service was mediocre at best. I see the vibe that they are going for here, but they missed the mark. All their meals are around 14-20 dollars and not worth the price at all. This salad was $13 dollars but I added chicken to it to which made it $17. The salad was not only not filling but also was missing the brioche croutons and the pistachio brittle. What a COOL SPOT! From the moment you walk in... it's warm and inviting, with cool décor and friendly staff. My friends and I were seated at a large, wooden table next to a fireplace for Sunday Brunch. We could all see and hear each other- which was awesome. It was clean and bright, and the bar was really large. The brunch cocktails were delicious and imaginative... I mean a BACON BLOODY MARY!!?!?! YUM!!!!! We shared a handful of items: the bang bang shrimp, cannoli French toast, brussels sprouts, and the Truffle Mac and Cheese. Each was original and they were all fantastic. The Cannoli French Toast was ridiculously good. The Truffle mac and cheese turned a few truffle non-believers into believers- haha! It was cheesy and had the perfect amount of truffle-ness. We each got our own meal and everyone raved about what they decided on. I enjoyed the Short Rub Quesadilla. It was the perfect sized portion and was super flavorful. I can't wait to come back. The ambiance was upbeat and welcoming. You can tell a ton of thought was put into the details of this restaurant, and it showed. Highly recommended. read more

Every Wednesday I go to Clarksboro for Wednesday Night Trivia at a local brewery. Said local brewery is just a few doors down from Cinder Bar. We walk the few yards from one to the other, order food, then go back to trivia night. (We always lose) they hostesses are lovely, they will bring your order down to the brewery and wish you bon appétit. We have also dined in COUNTLESS times. They food and drinks are always 5 stars. Let's start with their pizza - so good! SO GOOD! I love a thin crust crispy pizza. Customize it however you like...they got you. I always get the margarita with extra basil because I'm basic. It's delicious and it doesn't need extra to make something great...greater. With that said I've also had like every appetizer on the menu that doesn't have meat-- remember I'm a vegetarian. Their drinks are great with a large selection of fun and fruity drinks as well as local craft beers and the standard national stuff. They offer live music and I feel like every time I come here it's a little different but still top notch. It's great in spring or late summer when you can sit outside or inside by the windows. Parking can be a challenge, remember they are in a strip mall so there are other businesses competing for the available spots. I'll be going there again next week, say hi if you are there. So arrived at 2:45....only had brunch menu...so we waited until 3 for the regular menu.....my son is a Vegan....so we all ordered and then the server came back to us and said the vegan cheese steak would not be available until 4. So my son sat there with no food while my wife and I ate. How do you present a menu and say vegans are excluded until 4 while others can eat. Worst service ever. Immediately upon entering with my black family of six we were treated with ignorance, no smiles, waiter messing up my explained allergy, manager laughing that are food came out incorrectly. Been waiting for this opening for months. Was stalking the FB page for Clarksboro, and was constantly nudging them for info. Finally finished! So we went on Opening day in the early afternoon. Taylor took excellent care of us and explained that the food could either come out together or as it was ready. We opted for the food to come out as it was prepped. Pretty hungry. Husband had a sangria,(or 2) and I opted for a whiskey flight. Siracha deviled eggs were up first, closely followed by wings and Ukrainian Pirogies. For our mains, Hub ordered a margarita pizza. I ordered a muffaletta. We had leftovers of both of these. There are a lot more interesting menu and bar items that we need to sample. One page of standard craft beers on tap and additional 3 pages of rolling choices. They also specialize in whiskey and tequila. Sunday Brunch is from 10-3. Lobster Benedict and Texas Biscuits with Sausage Gravy are calling my name. They also have fights of Bloody Mary's at this service. And did you know that they make their own ice? Not with twp water. It was a busy night right before New Year's eve, there's a lot of bar space is available at self seating though. I had a very good and well executed old fashioned which was not too sweet, you could really taste the rye whiskey which was very smooth! My husband and I met with another couple for dinner and we decided to share small plates. The Bada Bang Shrimp was not great, a little too small and could have been frozen shrimp. The French onion soup bites and fried green beans were uniquely flavorful! Cheese steak egg rolls were ok. Our favorite was the wood fired Brussels sprouts with bacon and shallots. Came for the Sunday Brunch and I'm so glad we did! Restaurant wasn't too busy around 1:30pm, my sister and I were seated right away. There were a lot of options for brunch/lunch and for a few of the plates you were able to choose a half or full plate. I love this option because I was able to try the Bananas Foster French Toast and the Avocado Eggs Benedict. Both were incredible. I was content with just a half plate of the avocado eggs Benedict, but the French toast looked so amazing, we split the half plate. The French toast was really out of this world with the Carmel rum sauce and vanilla ice cream. I tried the strawberry Bellini, my sister ordered the pretty in pink. My drink was fine, next to the food it wasn't anything special, for $8 I would probably just order coffee next time. My sister couldn't finish the pretty in pink, she was not a fan. Service was good. Vibe is like PJs, which is less of a drive for us. Probably wouldn't make the drive for dinner food, but I'll definitely be back for Sunday brunch again! read more

Currently sitting at bar for brunch. Sitting for about 10 minutes before being SLID (literally) a menu across the bar without any introduction. The bartender actually wasn't even engaged with me, she did this in mid conversation with the folks next me me. No hello how are you my name is.... I ordered a cinder punch with bananas fosters French toast with candied bacon. My food came before my drink. I waited for about 5-7 more minutes (food now cold at this point) to receive my drink (which was not great). It was just sat down without a straw so I asked for one but before I could ask the bartender had quickly gone to "help" the people next to me. When asking for the straw I felt as if i was a bother-like I was Interrupting her good conversation. Not ok I understand folks are short staffed, but when I look around and see staff engaging more with a certain kind of customer that becomes a problem! I keep giving this place a chance and I do not know why. I won't be back here, no matter how good the French toast is! Not worth the shotty service! read more

I am a huge fan. The decor is inviting and unique. There is nothing in South Jersey like it. The staff was friendly and seemed excited to be there. It was a bit busy, but it was the opening week so it was expected. My server recommended a drink and I bit. She described it perfectly, I couldn't even taste the alcohol. For my meal I had the pirogies, braised short rib poutine fries, pilgrim dumplings, and the Cal-Italia pizza. All of which were amazing. My friends had a few of the other dishes including the lobster Mac and cheese and the candied bacon. We all left happy and full. I am excited to explore the menu more in the future.
