We went here for a friends birthday dinner and it was super kid friendly (they loved seeing the ingredients and choosing what went into their burritos). the food was good, the atmosphere was nice. I really appreciated that they didn't use the TVs to play actual television, instead they just kinda project pictures of beaches and islands. burritos are pretty standard, but the desserts were AMAZING. churros, deep fried oreos, deep fried chocolate chip cookie dough!! each came with a little cup of chocolate sauce for dipping. we'll definitely be back. read more

When I first walked in the place, I noticed the bar had different brands of tequila. Makes sense! Then I noticed that it was designed like a Chipotle, but far better than Chipotle. I am so honored to be the very first customer at Cinco TacoBar! When I walked in I was immediately wowed by the colorful and clean restaurant and was very warmly greeted by the owners. So, what sets Cinco apart? Corn tortillas made right in front of you, an insane amount of toppings to choose from and a full bar. Oh, and parking. Always a plus. I enjoyed a salpicon taco piled high with veggies and guacamole ($3.25 for the taco and $2.25 for the guacamole) and also chips on the side with their incredible salsas. The food is very expensive, it is not the best I've ever had but it's not the worst either. You pay for literally everything including chips which should really be complimentary or included because prices are astronomical. Perhaps it's the inflation or rent... service is non existent really. You order over the counter and met with reluctant teenagers. We picked up some food for dinner... Hubby said the Al Pastor was the best he has had ... he ordered a burrito. I got 2 Tacos...a Carne Asada, and a Carnitas. Best taco in the East Bay. We went on a Sunday and it was not crowded. The tortillas are fresh and gluten free. They are thick and substantial enough to hold up to the taco which is full of deliciousness. We tried the carnitas which was not greasy, not fatty and not salty. Which is what we normally find when we order carnitas. The tomatoes are ripe and fresh and so is the lettuce and cilantro. That's all we ordered but we'll definitely be back. read more

Definitely one of the best Mexican places in the area. Sort of a rich man's chipotle at a slightly higher price point. Also has great margaritas for only $8 - mas tequila pod favor. Came to inquire for Man Vs. Fries, stayed for the Papa Loca. While we were deciding, they were making tortillas by hand in front of us. Melted my heart and made me feel at home. Got the Papa Loca to split as we weren't very hungry. It was, quite honestly, unexpectedly superb. Get everything in it, you won't regret it. The combo of everything together made it tie together nicely. The sour cream almost tasted like crema. We were thoroughly stuffed. The horchata was better than average - not a lot of sentiment at the bottom if you like that kind of thing. The place was pretty dead at 3:30 on a Wednesday. Visited this location after a long morning at the Livermore outlets, and it definitely hit the spot! The Yelp pictures convinced me to visit, and thankfully the food held up to expectations. This isn't your usual hole-in-the-wall taqueria. Upon entering you'll be greeted by a very contemporary interior featuring colorful Mexican-inspired artwork and nice (somewhat hipster lol) seating. I ordered a vegetarian dutch crunch torta and my friend got a pollo asada salad bowl. The vegetarian option includes guacamole which makes up for not having a "protein". The worker kindly informed me that the rice contained chicken broth after noticing I was vegetarian. All orders come with a side of complimentary nachos. The ingredients were very fresh and the food was extremely filling which justified the the price (~$11). The only knock I can think of is that there were no "memorable" flavors that would bring me back, the hot (orange) and mild (red) sauce were rather bland. read more

Great food, great service, great price. Every time I go, no matter what I get, I order with their salpicon (beef brisket). To me this sets them apart from every other taqueria or Free Bird / Chipotle type restaurant. The place feels clean and inviting. They also have a small bar for drinks if you are feeling saucy. This was my first experience coming to Cinco TacoBar and I can say it was amazing! Our food came out so quickly I was astonished! It was the perfect temperature to eat right away and it all tasted fantastic! Our groups favorite was the papa loca which is beef, sour cream, quac and some assortments on top of waffle fries! It was a meal and a half and I was still had plenty to eat even after I shared with everyone else! And all of the food is really inexpensive! Everything is made right there at the restaurant! You can watch them out the tortillas cut out and put on the grill/stove top! And some of the plates even appear to be homemade! Cinco at Bayfair is probably my 2nd favorite Mexican spot in the bay. I was THRILLED to see it pop up on the restaurant search in Livermore. Ingredients always taste and feel (texture) fresh. Everything I've tried is full of flavor without being too salty. They have pickled onions! Yummmmmeh Th dining area in this location is much larger than its San Leandro counterpart, so you can bring the fam. My favorite meat is the asada. Brisket is also good. All the salsas are tasty. Haven't had the nerve to order the papas (seasoned fries with a bunch of toppings) yet, but I aspire to it one day. read more

I love Cinco TacoBar!! I usually go to the location in San Leandro however I was in the Livermore area and I was looking for a place to eat so I went to the Livermore location this time. The Livermore location is a lot bigger than the San Leandro location. There is definitely a lot more seating. The food at the Livermore location and San Leandro location appeared to be the same to me. I ordered a bowl with the fresh tortillas on the side. I absolutely love their fresh tortillas. I think they are my favorite part of the meal. Overall, the bowl was delicious as usual (it tasted the exact same as the San Leandro location). The portions were good as well, I think the Livermore location actually gave me a tiny bit more food than the San Leandro location (unless I ordered more food without realizing it). The workers were friendly as well! Overall, I definitely recommend going to Cinco TacoBar if you are looking for some great food. Note: This is somewhere between an authentic Mexican taqueria and Chipotle. This is a perfect taqueria for the average suburbanite who took 2 years of Spanish in high school and feels authentic because they can say "gracias" and "tacos" with an inflection. It is ok and has a lot of potential, but not quite there. It is an order and sit type of place, a la Chipotle where you tell people exactly what you want on your burritos/tacos/tortas and they make in front of you. It is nice because you can see how fresh the food is, and I have to say it was pretty fresh. While being fresh, it didn't quite pack a punch with flavor. I had the pulled beef as it looked a bit more moist than the carne asada. The burrito was a good size, they throw a little cup of pretty watered down salsa and chips on a tray for you. Overall was full, not fully satisfied. My main gripe was I asked for a hot sauce after I sat down. She said they only had it behind the counter and I had to wait in line to ask the woman making the burritos. After about 5 minutes waiting in line again while my food got cold, I gave up. I mean, you are a taqueria but don't have Tapatio, Valentina, pico de gallo, pickled carrots, anything? I get it, it is Livermore, but I mean... some of us gueros enjoy spice. Perks are that they have a full bar and the sangria was solid. It took a while to get, but was worth the wait. This is a great spot that offers authentic Mexican food in a super trendy setting. It's decor is totally insta-friendly. The menu is pretty simple, the service is great- pretty similar to Chipotle style. We tried the chicken and shrimp bowls and a veggie quesadilla- all of them were pretty good.
