Today I visited Cinco Ranch Aquariums off of Grand Parkway in Katy. They had an amazing selection of fish and aquatic plants. Pricilla was friendly and knowledgeable. I bought some plants for my aquarium that I am restablishing. I plan to go back when it's time to start adding fish. Literally the best aquarium store in all of Houston/Katy. They always take their time to help you with anything you need or any questions that you have. They are super friendly and helpful. Their prices are great and all their livestock is very well taken care of. Some other stores have a lot of diseases and dead fish while in this store I have never seen any disease and probably only like 1 or 2 dead fish but that's completely normal since not everything will always survive. Don't let the bad reviews discourage you from coming here because of the previous owners. The people currently here are the new owners and are so amazing! They are Jose and Pricilla Every buck here that I've spent has always been worth it. This will keep on being my 1st go to fish store! Thank you very much CRA! read more

This place is great! It may not be the largest store but the owner is very knowledgeable and willing to inform! I have had great experiences every time I'm in there (usually taking up about 45 minutes of his time), where I have been able to learn a ton! He helped me start my Bio Cube! They have a beautiful selection of coral, inverts and fish! The recent supply and hours change are to be expected with the current situation and I HIGHLY recommend this shop! read more

Very convenient place to go in Katy for your aquarium needs. Cinco Ranch Aquariums sells equipment, supplies, livestock and also provides services for freshwater and saltwater aquariums. The owner is very knowledgeable and experienced, always happy to share insight about how to stock your tank and keep it healthy. Note that the shop is very small but will constantly have shipments of livestock coming in. Be sure to call ahead of time to see what is available on hand. Love this place. Fairly new so they don't have a huge selection of fish at the moment. But I would go here for everything else you need for your tank. If you want fresh water fish, you won't find much here. In fact, I counted 4 species and more empty tanks than that They have a small amount of salt water species. The fish look healthy. I think they have a good selection of corals. Lots of interesting frags. People we're ok. Not overly friendly. Small supply of mostly small to medium tanks on hand. Excellent shop. I was greeted in a friendly manner upon entering and immediately offered help with anything. The store was very clean and well organized. The prices at what I looked at were pretty good -- definitely better than most local fish stores. I'll certainly come here if I need Seachem's Flourite, they had quite a bit in stock and it was the best price I've seen for 15lb bags. There's pretty much anything you could need for both freshwater and saltwater on the supplies side. On the fish side, they only carry marine animals. They had an very good selection of fish and in the best condition I've ever seen. There was no smell and even the sump they had on display was very well maintained. I visited on 9/21/16 and the guy at the front desk told me they planned on setting up freshwater tanks and getting in a selection of fish in 2 to 3 months, so sometime around the end of the year or so. read more

On my very first visit I was pleasantly surprised to see what an amazing collection of corals they had. I hadn't been here before because I assumed they were in the business of setting up aquariums and the maintenance side of things. They had the meds I needed for my tank and I bought several corals because their prices were amazingly low and the corals are in excellent health. The staff members there were exceptionally knowledgeable. So I'd have to give them five stars and more if I could. read more

If you need a place you can rely on, I wouldn't recommend here. I have come to this location more than a handful of times ... only to find them closed 9 out of 10 times. I think they try to find any excuse they can to not come in for the day. Today must be because the Ice is melting outside. I'm done trying to give my money to this place. The few times that I have successfully made it into the store, they were pretty late opening the doors. Now I see why I just found out about this place a few months ago. Don't waist your time going here. Selection is extremely limited and the few skimpy items available are WAY over priced. If you have an extra 15 minutes to spare, drive down to Houston (right out side of Katy) and you will find 100 times more selection and lower prices at other small pet stores. If you don't want to drive to Houston, try the big box pet stores any where in Katy. You will get more selection, better prices and better quality fish that come with a guarantee. read more
