It looks like a "nice place" to buy fish. It has many fish to sell at the back of the store, not necessarily an "out of this world" variety. It has a beautiful cylinder tank with probably salt water fish and another rectangular huge one with a couch to sit and admire. The reason why I would most probably not recommend this place is because prices are way higher than at a regular pet store for exactly the same items, even same brand. It looks gorgeous, but it is out of our way as well and traffic on the 45 is awful most of the time. This place is not worth it for us to go back. read more

I'm really astonished that 2/21 reviews are from people that drove 45 minutes from Cypress. Clearly, Cypress needs an aquarium store or a smarter population. Anyway, I drove about 20 minutes, found exactly what I needed for aquarium supplies with whispering assistance (SPEAK UP) from the helpful register clerk. Now I wouldn't say he is the sharpest tool in the shed: he sold me an air pump, and I had to ask, "Would you also like to sell me the diffuser and outrageously priced +$4 tubing???" Oh yeah, um, they don't come with the pump.....duh! He pointed me in the direction of the freshwater fish. With only a one (1) gallon tank, there are few choices. A lot of the customer service I received were attempts to upsell: "Wouldn't you like a 10 gallon aquarium?" This is OK, I get it, "NO!" I found a replacement for the last BETA I bought at this location that LIVED almost 2 years! This alone earned an extra star! read more

The staff wanted to charge me extra to get a fish out of a tank that was planted. I get it not an easy task, but the delivery of the price was brutal as if I didn't have the money and also why even have a fish that can be seen in place that sells fish if it's not for sale or going to cost double. I also tested their water and the TDS in their tanks was close to 400 with nitrites present. So just be carful when buying and ask them to test the water in front of you. Hands down the best fish store my husband and I have ever been to. We love exploring fish stores whenever we travel and this has been our favorite so far. We both told one another when we left that it was the cleanest store we've ever seen. The displays and layout of the store made looking at all the different fish such an enjoyable experience. We really enjoyed how the sections of the store are labeled (community, semi-aggressive, aggressive, etc.). It made it easy for us to be able to know which fish we can put together. I think this place is so cute and I will say the keep the place immaculate and clean. Not just the floors, but the tanks are kept in perfect viewing conditions and from what I see all the animals are kept happy. Nice store. Stock has been healthy during all of my visits. Customer service has always been good. I would agree with many of the reviews that won't allow a higher score. There are many live fish stock stores with many more species and selections (particularly saltwater). They have a pretty good cichlid selection, but all are higher priced than many shops I have visited. Overall, the store is pricey, but I can understand that keeping such a nice shop running cost a lot more. They certainly have one of the nicest showrooms around this part of town. I'm a long time customer of Fish Gallery The Woodlands. Have always had an excellent experience with the store and the quality of fish and supplies I've purchased from them since that location opened. My frustration is with their Service Operations. As of January the coordination of service moved from the service manger to the company's head of service operations. Scheduling service is a now a chore and while I appreciate that they are now using a billing app, I have to track them down to get the link to pay my Bill. More importantly they increased my service fee by $10 without explanation. When I asked about it, the head of Svc. Ops said we emailed all our customers about the need to charge more due to the overhead we've incurred due to COVID 19. I asked why Ai didn't receive that email as a long time customer and he said my email address wasn't on file. Weird. Then I asked him to forward me the email previously sent and he couldn't send me the previously sent email. I've always agreed to pay the higher prices because I believed I was getting better service. Now I'm looking for another provider for tank maintenance. I have lost confidence in this business. read more

Drive about 40 mins to check this place out in hopes of buying new fish however when coming in the store there was no one to greet us. It is a beautiful store with all the aquarium equipments you would need. It's very organized with a lot of display tanks. However, everything there is pricey. When we finally saw workers we made eye contact and yet no one seems to care enough to greet us. Looked around and they have the more expensive fish not the ones you'll find at petco which is cool. They did have guppies however that were nearly dead. Saltwater portion was very small, you can tell that saltwater isn't really their forte since their corals weren't at all impressive nor their saltwater fish. The problem for me was that not any of the workers that were standing in the very same room said anything...we even passed them by. Terrible. Absolutely ridiculous. We live in cypress which is about 45 minutes away from this location, which is WHY WE CALLED TO MAKE SURE they had salt and RO water. Then on the way there, I called for a SECOND time to MAKE SURE they knew we were coming and that we needed water (because the drive is so far). I specifically said that it was an emergency situation and that we just needed water and he said that was fine! Can you guess what happened next? We walked in with our jugs and got told that they had just done a water change and they had NO WATER. What kind of incompetent people do they have running this place? We honestly go here because of the health of all the fish we have purchased and the helpfulness and consideration of the employees. The employees never make you feel like you're asking a dumb question and are always very helpful and kind. It is a little pricey, but worth the drive. Looking into setting up my tank/ just going back and forth with the wife about freshwater or saltwater. Whatever the case this place is great, from start to finish this place can get you where you want to go/ love the fact that they have actual empty tanks for sale that are set up with plants , rocks , and other decor to give you an idea on how to decorate your own tank! Plenty of tanks to help you take notes and inspire you to decor your own. They also have large aquariums around the store filled with fish to just admire. Towards the back of the store is where you can find all the fish they have for sale. From start up colorful betas, to goldfish , oscars , African cichlids man we even found dory and her friends! I have been in shop several times customer service is hit or miss, I walked on recent visit and was seen by no less than 4 employees and never once asked if I needed anything, Not even when I was attempting to view the contents of one of the tanks to see about a purchase. I think management needs to go over the basics you ask the customers if they need anything even if the answer is no it indicates a interest in the over all experience and lets the customer know you are there to help them. read more

This is what your local fish store should strive to be like. While they do not have lots & lots of displays for you to view (they have 2-3 freshwater & 2-3 saltwater), they definitely get your imagination started with what they have created. The staff is very helpful. The pricing is a little on the higher side(not cheap but not outrageous), but it won't break the bank if you are doing your install properly. The restrooms are clean. The floors are clean(as far as I could tell). The only real downside I can think of to this store is the lack of parking space, but then again- there is a small percentage of people that actually pursue aquatics, so it's quite alright. They have a lounge area where you can literally just sit down & read a book or play on your phone while your spouse or whoever shops. read more

Do NOT buy a tank and set up services from this place! The crew they sent over made a mess, dripped saltwater on our laminate floors damaging the finish, did not bring any equipment required for the transition of the old tank to the new tank although we were told they would provide everything needed, I.e. vats, aerators, etc. Thankfully we had enough buckets to accommodate the transfer process. The so called experienced technicians could not explain the equipment to us or how to use it. They took all the spare parts for the cabinet so the inside looks unfinished. When I visited the store to discuss this with the store manager, he was gone. In talking to their Live Stock manager he referred us to the company headquarters In Houston where all the service is handled. I finally spoke with their operations manager who said, "we will get back to you". Terrible installation service, terrible customer service. Avoid this place! read more
