Grew up going to this location- My sister called and ordered 5 burritos to go. My mom went inside to get it and the lady at the front handed her 3 burritos. My husband found this spot while driving around and called me to meet him for lunch; I was not impressed. The food was good, customer service was great but it just didn't have that Mexican flavor. Today we were driving back from Discovery Bay and DH had a headache because he was hungry so I decided to stop here since they were fast last time. What a huge surprise when I tasted the tacos!!! Disappointed... I used to go here a lot when I was in High School and converted the family into choosing this restaurant to satiate our Mexican food cravings. But from what happened tonight, I think we may be looking elsewhere. We ordered a few burritos, chile relleno dinner plate, and the carnitas dinner plate to go. Once we came back home and opened our food to eat, the carnitas platter was no where to be found! The place was so bad I went in ordered nachos without Chile but they added it anyways he tried scooping it off and telling me there's nothing in there I then told him to give me a new one and he started toning his voice more yeah I did tell him some things in Spanish but still he should have gotten my order right, after I told him some things he then told me he was going to beat me up in Spanish!! My husband and I eat here at least once a week. He enjoys the shrimp burrito and I get chicken tacos with sour cream, or enchiladas. Everything is very tasty. The baby loves their beans (he loves refried beans!) It's a nice, well-run, clean restaurant. Friendly help, and really good prices. We used to live in San Mateo and go to Pancho Villa all the time. Cinco de Mayo doesn't have the same salsa bar, which would be nice, but they have great food, and way better prices than PV. There's seating in the restaurant and some tables outside, but we usually get ours to go. Oh yeah, and generous portion sizes too. Good food at a good price, so we keep going back. read more

Wow what a disappointment . Ordered a regular pastor burrito. Hope you like rice, way too much. The little bit of meat that was in there was bland and very dry. I normally go to this place because it's pretty good, but today I went into the place and they messed up my order. I returned 30 min later due to the fact its a decent drive. But instead of remaking the nachos they messed up on they refunded me my money and told me they weren't gonna make me new nachos. They had put no guacamole on an order that I paid extra for this. The manager even came out as he had messed up the order and as stubborn as he was kept saying there was guacamole. This location needs a new staff and manager read more

ALL the food, plus the fresh made salsas are amazingly delicious. The carne asada, pollo asado, and chorizo burritos are a few of my favorites. The quality is slightly inconsistent, but great 95% of the time. I've been going here for a little over 10 years. As for the customer service, most of the employees are *very* friendly, but recently a couple have had a bad habit of arguing, and scowling at me when they get my order wrong. Just when my husband and I had vowed to never go back, especially after the manager implied that I lied about something being severely undercooked, he gave me a gift certificate, so they still get a 5 star review. I will have to try something else next time however, as the chicken mole tasted like chinese food. It was very sweet and had sesame seeds and celery in it. I personally like fresh food. Some people don't understand Mexican food made fresh taste's better. The beans are canned beans. There not home made style. The rice has been cooked a couple of days ago. I bet money and put my money where my mouth is on this that it ain't fresh. The salsa is the worst salsa I've ever seen. You called that salsa??? After being a long time happy customer of this establishment, I came home, was too tired to cook and took advantage of door dash. I went online to order Fajitas, and there is no option for what kind of fajitas to order. I went to fish plates and thought, I'll just get shrimp. The little door dash girl showed up, earlier than expected, I gave her a nice tip, and sat down to enjoy my shrimp fajitas. I opened the box to not only find 2 and a partial piece of shrimp, but no tortillas at all. All you fajita eaters know, you must have tortillas. So I went back on the app and thought, oh crap I missed it. Nope, no option to add any kind of tortilla. I called the restaurant and spoke with Richard who told me, "we forgot. But you can come down and pick them up?" I told him if I was going to do that I would have saved the $3 delivery and $5 tip to doordash and done it myself. Sort of defeats the purpose. So then I said, well how can I be compensated? I can pick out these 2.5 shrimp but I don't want plain lettuce and a dollop of sour cream without tortillas. He told me the tortillas were $.50 and he could credit me that. I laughed. After about 6 years, this one experience will stop me from visiting cinco de mayo. People make mistakes, things get screwed up, but Richard's failure to compensate me for my screwed up dinner was lame. It took another five minutes to talk him out of the owners name, Hugo, which could be crap, but ill call tomorrow and find out. I get tortillas arent rocket science, but the kids in this place could probably use a class in customer service. If they couldn't authorize a refund/partial refund/another set of fajitas, maybe offer to call me back after you talk to Hugo. I fell in love with this little hole in the wall when I first moved to Clayton last April. Many of you may know the best authentic Mexican food comes from' the little hole in the wall restaurant.' This place is it! Everything I have eaten is delicious and you just can't beat the price. This is truly a great value and wonderful for folks that are on a budget, but want something fast and delicious that is not fast food! I love the tacos, burritos, and flautos. The salsa bar is great. I wish I could use a larger container to take more salsa home. I come here on average once a week. I just do not go anywhere else for Mexican food when I want take out. You must try it. read more

I've only eaten here while I'm waiting for my laundry to finish up at the laundromat a few doors over but haven't been disappointed in anything that I've ordered so far. This place is not as good as it used to be. When I was in High School at Concord High, 2001-2005, this was the go to spot. Close to campus, inexpensive, quality food.
