Cinco De Mayo has become our regular post game lunch spot during the basketball rec season in Clayton! The food is pretty good - the little one swears their soft tacos and Spanish rice are "The Best he's ever had" but then sometimes I wonder if it's just his stomach talking! They open early and are at a convenient location along the way home so it's hard to avoid for lunch when the kid is so hungry after running the courts. It's a small spot but cozy and the ladies that work there are so nice and friendly. They are also fast in getting the good out. My only real complaint is there's no restroom! So if you dine in you better hope you don't have to go! And if you do... well, there is a Starbucks nearby so grab a coffee and use their bathroom! If you're worried about not being able to wash your hands before you eat there is hand sanitizer in there. read more

It's one of the best. Chili Relleno's are authentic and made with Pasilla chiles. Yumm! Service is always friendly and helpful. The eating area is always clean and they give you chips and salsa to nibble while it's prepared. Prices are fair and portions are generous. Place has been here for a bit and I remember going here frequently until we moved across town. Now we are back in the neighborhood and it is still solid and reliable as it used to be. Consistent and great tasting food is why I used to frequent this establishment. I had ordered a few things for the family for takeout and the gals were friendly and helpful. I had ordered a Chicken. Quesadilla and a few other items. It was ready really quick and I got a few of their salsas which were also tasty. Definitely going to go and get more of their items like Tacos and other fare. read more

Have been going to Cinco de Mayo for years love it! They are so nice and the food is delicious. In addition to be reasonably priced. It is our go to quick solution for dinner! The service is very quick and it has a nice small dining room room if you want to eat there mostly we take out at home though. read more

Absolutely delicious enchilada plate. I got their salsa Verde really spicy and so flavorful beans and rice were great. What more do you want in this world? read more

Humbly, it's worth testing out this menu, I've ordered a number of different things and you may have to dig a little bit in my opinion to find what you really like, but, the five star menu items in my opinion are, and they're completely authentic obviously: the enchiladas which are fresh and delicious and as good a late night meal as anything you're going to get around here, their chips are phenomenal and their churros are phenomenal!! And their hot sauce is fire!! So lucky to live near them!!! read more

Their food is pretty good. It's not amazing, but it's good. The service is always friendly, and there's ample seating. They charge for chips and salsa, but their beer is $5. Good local spot for quick Mexican food. It's in a strip mall so the ambiance is OK. But you're going to get what you'd expect from a place like this. Pricing is reasonable/slightly high but not bad. read more

***3.5 Stars*** A solid option for fast casual Mexican cuisine. If you know me, you know I love me some Mexican food. Especially when it's good and cheeeaap! Mm hmm. Concord has a TON of wonderful taquerias and I'm on a mission to try them all. Literally. Came here for a quick dinner about a month ago and this little place definitely hit the spot. They have a cute little outdoor patio area setup in front of their building. Since it was a nice day out, decided to dine outside. There's no table service here and they're still using to-go containers whether you dine there or take it to go. They are still closed for indoor dining (it's a tiny space, so it'll probably be a while before that happens any time soon). Their menu is pretty simple but still full of most Mexican food faves. I came here for the crispy tacos. I've been in search of a replacement crispy taco spot ever since the last taqueria that I used to frequent for them let me down hard. Ordered at the counter and the ladies were really pleasant. One thing to note is that they charge a fee if you're paying with your card, and I believe that this is regardless of how much you spend. Womp womp. But honestly, it's not that bad. Plus, they give you free chips and salsa and I'm ALL about that life. And, they're actually really yummy too. All of their salsas are pretty bomb, but my favorite so far is their hot red salsa. It has a wonderful kick to it. Price-wise, I'd say that they're pretty on par with the other taquerias in the neighborhood. So about those tacos; me likey... me likey a lot! They were beautifully deep fried and stuffed with fresh lettuce and cheese. Also really enjoyed the crunch factor. I ordered them with chicken. While the chicken wasn't the most flavorful that I've ever had, the meat was pretty juicy. The only thing that was missing was all of the other condiments that you'd typically find on crispy tacos. You know... sour cream, pico de gallo, and even just plain tomatoes. They only serve their crispy tacos with cheese and lettuce. Hmmm. Def need more than that on my tacos, but they were still yummy nonetheless. The beans and rice were both very flavorful and they tasted authentic. Portions were adequate for the price. Also had their horchata and is tasted perfect. You can definitely tell that it's homemade. There's tons of parking since this taqueria is located in a large shopping complex with several other businesses. Cinco De Mayo is actually a small taqueria chain that has a few other locations in both Martinez and Concord. This was my first time ever trying them, and I would definitely come back again if I was in the area. Just hoping that they'll add some more toppings to their crispy tacos in the future because I really do enjoy them. read more

This is what I call the " best hidden gem on the periphery of Concord, CA ". If you are craving for burritos, tacos, Chile Mole, Fajitas, Nachos and other authentic Mexican food, this is the place to be. Bring your family and friends and enjoy what ever your palate desires in their menu. The food is flavorful and I'm very sure your tastebuds will surely enjoy a whole new world of flavors. The price of their meal is very reasonable. The staffs are courteous and professional. The interior space is ample for your family and friends. The design concept of the interior is well thought. I believe the theme concept of the interior is a " Rustic Revival ", an industrial farmhouse decor ideas. The theme provides a contrasting elements, evoking the simplicity of farmhouse house decor and the rugged charm of industrial aesthetics as shown by the metal feature surrounding the incandescent light bulbs. You will surely feel at home. How can you resist great food, excellent service and a relaxing ambiance. The place is clean and very organized. I highly recommend the place for special family events. This place is also great for your everyday dietary needs. After a tiring day at work, this is the place to be........ to relax and enjoy a hearty and flavorful meal with your loved ones and friends. read more

Family owned and operated! This restaurant is definitely a secret spot for locals. If you just want to grab a bite it's perfect for to-go orders, but dining in is even better. Just came in for a quick bite and kept it simple - carnitas soft tacos and shrimp soft tacos. The carnitas tacos were on small corn tortillas, so more in line with street tacos. Just some onion and cilantro and a squeeze of lime and they were good to go. Pretty juicy so get some napkins. The shrimp tacos were a little bigger and had this chipotle sauce and cabbage - very good. I am looking forward to trying some other items. read more

Customers beware : Just moved to thisnpart of Concord and was so excited to find this little taco place. To feed the crew who helped me move, i ordered 5 burritos, 5 drinks and a small salsa and chips. Total and i signed for an $88.50 tab and when i went to check my credit card statement i was charged $98.50. The girl at the front (who was so rude and not a great face for the restaurant) wrote herself a $10 tip on my card. Gow dare you. I have contacted my bank. Do not go here ! read more

I just ordered a carne asada and a carnitas burrito. Both were way too shy on meat. I've always gone here for burritos because they are flavorful and the proportions of meat, rice and beans are spot on. I will definitely come here again and I hope this is just a case of someone new making burritos tonight. Please don't change your proportions Cinco de Mayo!!! I like to taste the meat!! If I want a rice burrito I'll order it. Usually 5 stars. Today 1 star read more

I have gone here since 2007/08 of course prices went up everything has gone up. As far as down hill....not at all This place has gone up. It was always a good place but the last few years we frequent cinco at least once a week. Food is always hot. and good. I prefer the grilled chicken as my meat here. Chile relleno is good, wet burrito has been my go to lately. But I always recommend the grilled chicken taco at least 4! We also get the Al pastor a lot as well. Rice and beans are always consistent. I always order my burritos without beans and they fill my burritos with plenty of meat and not skimp since I order no beans and I love that. The ladies are never rude to us they are always sweet and food is served up fairly quick. The girl at the front is always nice and We even joke because they recognize us being regulars. We usually get takeout but I know it is still a popular place for the high school still too. A nice local small business and happy we have them right in the neighbir read more

Part of the concord taco trail. My second stop. Chips are fresh, light and crispy and fabulous. Salsa is mild, which I prefer but I know most would like a hot option. Order the carnitas soft taco and beef hard taco. The carnitas taco was so juicy. Topped with cilantro and tomatillo salsa. Tons of meat- so much I had to pull some off and put in those chips! Finally, a place that serves ground beef! It's heaped with cheese and perfectly fried hard tortilla. I'll for sure be back! read more

Three stars ONLY because the girl who took the order was very kind and because my friend liked her taco and my tamal was good however this location is not as good as Martinez. There's carrots or peppers or something in the chicken enchilada, wtf and the crispy taco had bag salad in it. ;-/ Even the salsa is different. I mean the food isn't bad it's just not as good as the Martinez one read more

One of my two favorite Mexican restaurants in Concord. It's in the same shopping center as my gym, so it's handy after a workout, don't need to move my car. I discovered this place because I take my son to Kumon and while I wait for him, I am pretty hungry. I ordered a super al pastor burrito and omg, it was so good! I think I'll add onions next time because it was kinda blah, but it was still good. The service was good too. read more

Yum yum. This is the best cinco de Mayo! The people are friendly and the service is fast. Went with my family last night for dinner. We all ordered something different. Each thing that came out looked so amazing and everyone said it all tasted great. A little tricky though on the menu under sides it's a side of rice OR beans for 2.50 not both for 2.50. So wish this was a little more clear since they usually come together. I got the rice and beans with a vegetarian burrito. The burrito included rice beans cheese lettuce sour cream and guacamole. I love how this came with guacamole and wasn't something you just got on the side. It made the burrito worth it. You also get a side of chips and salsa with your order. The mild salsa is still pretty spicy but it was ok. I really enjoyed my food and so did my family. My burrito was so big it fed me my leftovers for dinner that night. read more

Mediocre at best. Just make the drive to the Mecca in Pittsbrug. Portions are much bigger, enchiladas not even close. Worst, I went in to order and ordered Shrimp Taco with beans and rice, got home and no beans and rice. I do not recommend this store I ordered Fajita and they only serve me the one I attached photo. The steak, guacamole beans and rice . Where is my chips, salsa and the main thing in the menu the Tortilla. She told me I should asked for the Tortilla. Well, it's my first time I have toa sked for the tortilla and they didn't even asked me if I need Tortilla. They ahould include it anyways that's what I assumed since I ordered Fajitas. I just don't like how their service an dthe orice online $11.00 and when I was there she put $13.00 I said what happened with the price in the mwnu and said they change? What? I felt there's something off with this store the management should need to update everything in ORDER! Don't make your customers guessing everytime they order. And please!!! Ordered through Doordash, a grilled chicken sope with rice and beans and a burrito. I received three crispy tacos and two taquitos. Not even close! They compensated the money but after working and taking my kid to practice we still don't have dinner this evening. They said the Dasher grabbed the wrong order and our food was there sitting on the counter. No way to get it to us. The taquitos are sad and the crispy tacos were bland (we tried to eat it.) Never again. read more

Okay, I hate to write a negative review during such a difficult time. But this has to be shared. First off, I have been a patron to Cinco De Mayo for over 6 years. We usually are in Martinez and regularly (I MEAN REGULARLY) eat at Center and Pacheco establishments. I was in Concord and swung through this restaurant thinking I would get the same consistency and pricing. BUYER BEWARE! We usually purchase Super BCR's. Every other location we have been to the price is $3.95. So typically $8 and tax for two burritos. This location I about fell over when she said 16.96 for my total!! I might as well have ordered a meat burrito. I brushed it off and thought, oh well. I am helping a local establishment during difficult times and left a tip as well. Once home my husbands burrito had a 20" long hair inside of it that also had something strange connected to it that looked fuzzy. Then once opening to inspect it, the ENTIRE BURRITO was rice. Just a small smear of beans and then loaded with rice, for $8.00!!!! Oh and not to mention that both our burritos were dripping in grease. Yuck!!!! I won't visit this location again. Drive to Martinez. It will be worth it. read more

I always get the burritos, and they're pretty decent. Like most places they dont really spread out the ingredients very well so you have 3 separate bites of beans, meat, and rice. But that's pretty normal. However, today I strayed from my usual and got 3 hard chicken tacos. They have absolutely NO FLAVOR. The chicken is not marinated at all, only boiled. I'm dumping a ton of salsa in it but it doesn't help at all. And they're extremely greasy. read more

I know this is a chain owned by brothers from the same family but this is hands down the best location out of all of them. You'd think they would all be the same but no this one is way better than the others. I drive past another location much closer to my home just to get to this one because its that much better. This trip I ordered the flautas and a chicken taco a la cart to enjoy. The flautas were super crispy! Lots of crunch. Just simply super flavored chicken and a corn tortilla fried. They are served with a side of sour cream and guacamole. Mmm I am drooling. The taco was equally as good! Crunchy shell full of flavorful meat. Then stuffed with cheese and lettuce to finish it perfectly off! They are super fast here but quality is not wasted so don't be afraid! read more
