So yummy!!! I haven't had Mexican like this since I lived in the Valley. Check them out, keep them open. I have only done take out in the pandemic but inside is cute. Burrito was huge and super good. They are a must try!!! read more

I love this place. It is my go to place to get food from when I just want to hang out and order in. The crispy chicken tacos are my favorite. Great enchiladas. Everything I have tried is delicious. read more

Wish I could curse on here nastiest food ever. I almost never want to eat Mexican food again. My stomach was upset the remainder of day. It's so funny how you think you can get good Mexican food anywhere but don't fool yourself do your research. read more

I ordered two crispy tacos. When I got home I tasted on and it tasted like cabbage, not lettuce. Sure enough they are using salad mix on the tacos that is full of cabbage. It tasted terrible. If they are too lazy to chop plain lettuce I am wondering what other nasty short cuts they take. Don't go here. read more

This place is definitely a hit or miss place! The night we visited Cinco De Mayo was a huge miss! We ordered 2 El Pastor super burritos, 1 veggie burrito, 2 pork tamales and because we were told that chips & salsa are not complementary we added an order of chips & salsa. We sat outside for a good 20 minutes while the rather rude employees prepared our food. We took our food to go and upon arriving home we instantly noticed that we only got 1 of our tamales. However, the tamale was so dry and mushy that we couldn't of possibly ate another one! Let me tell you about the El Pastor burritos! OMG! The meat literally tasted like it had been sitting for days! And the stomach ache I experienced later that night confirmed my point! The burritos were literally so dry and full of even dryer beans that those went directly into the trash! Then there's the veggie burrito. I mean how can you mess up a simple veggie burrito? Well, they did! It was suppose to have all the typical ingredients a veggie burrito contains-guacamole, sour cream, salsa, beans, rice. Well, this one consisted of the same dry beans and little else! No cheese and never did taste the ingredients I love so much! Plus, the burritos were wrapped so loosely that they fell apart upon lifting them from the wrapper! Sadly enough all the food we ordered ended up in my garbage. We spent over $50 to have it all tossed in the garbage! The next day I attempted to call Cinco De Mayo and was never able to get through to voice my complaints. What a waste of good money.!! Don't bother going to this particular location. You'll be highly disappointed! read more

Ordered a veggie wet burrito and a regular veggie burrito today and they were both delicious. I've tried several veggie burritos throughout the Bay Area and this has to be the best one I've had so far. Service is great, restaurant is clean, and the food is delicious. Would highly recommend it! read more

The staple of a place for me is asada tacos, however they tasted bad here. The meat tasted gamey and held no real flavor. I forced myself to eat the fourth taco even though I didn't want to. Burrito was also bland. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the employees were nice and fish tacos were pretty decent. read more

So we came to this area to try another local spot, and although the food at the other place was good, we definitely weren't satisfied hunger wise. It's a very small place, with maybe ten to twelve tables inside and two outside. On the tables outside were two young children playing and I can only assume that they are children of an employee. A little distracting when trying to eat. We didn't want a huge meal, something small so we both ordered two tacos. Mine were beef soft tacos. They had three different options for beef too. Shredded beef, ground beef and steak. I went with shredded myself but all three sounded good. I also asked for chips, which I do at every Mexican place I try. Home made chips with home made salsa, awesome. We get our food and at first I thought they made a mistake because mine looked like a salad. It was not I assure you. My two tacos were just piled with lettuce and sprinkled with cheese. The tacos were amazing though. The beef had so much flavor and juice was just dripping from one end of the taco. Four simple ingredients: Tortilla, beef, lettuce and cheese, and it was phenomenal. Definitely want to come back and explore the menu more. read more

Cinco De Mayo - Not a salad, but two shredded beef tacos. - Mexican Near Me - Concord, California

The only reason they got a two is because their Carnitas tacos are pretty good, and the rice bean and cheese burrito. This morning I tried a breakfast burrito... It was horrible. There was some super soggy old french fries in there. All soggy french fries don't belong in a chorizo breakfast burrito. read more

Mediocre, the only thing good here is burritos they pretty stingy with the chips with salsa they give In addition to whatever you get. The girls who work cashier there are extremely rude, super sassy. They have zero customer service skills, one day if they ever get a real job they will get fired on the spot. Not the reason I'm writing this review I got pretty bad food poisoning from eating shrimp tostadas from them. I was unaware that if the shrimp a bit brown is going bad. I was super sick within 2 hours I ate this food. I even came in to work the next day late of how bad I felt i nearly almost crashed on my way home. I'm filling a complaint with the food department and better business bureau. I could of got more sick bro people have died from food poisoning . read more

Sheeesh. No lettuce or tomato on my enchilada that looked like it came from a "tv dinner" beans taste like they came right out of a Taco Bell bean burrito. Rice had zero flavor. The horchata that came with no straw, taste like the pink Medicine you get when ur a kid and had no ice in it. And to top it all off didn't get and utensils or napkins. Definitely dissatisfied and unhappy. read more

My friend took me here to get a bite to eat before bible study. My friend ordered a big burrito with the works, and I ordered a regular sized burrito, without beans and rice because I don't eat those. They didn't bat an eye when I said it. Some places will tell you they can't personalize your food beyond what's on the menu. When they do that, I just turn around and walk out the door. I can't stand lousy customer service. It's NOT going to kill you NOT to put beans and rice in my food. Save it for another customer. The staff was nice. The place was very clean and had a homey feel to it. Lots of wall decor to look at while waiting for your food, which didn't take too long at all. I was just hungry so it seemed like longer lol My friend's burrito looked bomb! I opened mine up because I don't eat the tortillas, either. Yeah.....I know, I know. You don't have to say it. I can see your eye roll through my screen. Even without the rice and beans filling it up, there was still a good amount of food. I was satisfied with the taste. It was one of the best places I have been to in terms of taste. The staff didn't check on us at all, but they didn't serve us either. I'm okay with that because some places are scarf n go and you service yourself. I would definitely go there again. read more

Tucked away next to the laundry mat and haircut place. Has a good burrito of any kind. I didn't see a hotsauce condiment bar so maybe one needs to ask for sauce. Dine in available. Know they are closed on Sundays. So if you crave a burrito - not open on Sundays. read more

Very disappointing! Went in Wednesday night at 7:30 - they were out if rice n could not complete the whole order - didn't even offer to compromise on other items Mole sauce tasted like it was burnt left overs at the bottom of the pot. The pork was tough and the overall flavor of everything was very stale . How does a Mexican restaurant run out of rice???? Interesting that people after us had rice on their plates. Girl who was making the food was very rude. I really enjoy Cinco de Mayo but this location has gone downhill - the last two times the food has been bad and the employees rude won't go back! read more

I've been coming here since 2006. The food is A L W A Y S good. The service is efficient, friendly and outstanding. I've never had a bad experience, and I want to emphasize that. A BCR + horchata is my go to. If you're looking for GOOD food, cinco de Mayo is what you're looking for. read more

I am new to Concord and this place came highly recommended, the food has been very salty lately. The burritos are not cheap and I am writing this because I do not like that they cannot give me avocado instead of guacamole. When the owner/Mother is there, she is nice and has no problem. However the last 2 visits, one today, have been disappointing. The daughters are not very nice, short, "no" on the phone. Customer service is no. one, it can make or break a place, as well as the food. I don't think l will return for a while. There are many many Mexican restaurants in Concord, so word to the wise at Cinco, be nice and accommodating, as there are many to choose from. read more

This is probably my favorite place to get Chilaquiles. They offer mild or spicy and of course I got Spicy Chilaquiles with no sour cream. I swear I had dragon breath with every bite. Great food, selections for all types of appetites, good prices. I don't know what else to say it's a great place.

Clearly they do not want us at this establishment. The 2 customers before us and the 3 since were greater with smiles and a pleasant demeanor. My child wife and I? Not so much. The level of disdain from the lady at the register was a precursor of what was to come. 4 soft tacos ordered... two soft tacos and two hard tacos made. The two soft tacos had what tasted like burned friar oil poured on them. The meat was inedible at that point. But before that, the other clients were given chips. When I finally asked for them, I was responded to with a reply of annoyance. The other customers dishes were called out. Our first 2 plates were not. They just sat there until I walked up. I didn't order hard tacos so I was not sure they were ours. 2 other clients had come in after us and had ordered and received theirs with smiles. No complaints so I'm sure the orders were not mixed up. My wife's dinner finally came out of the microwave and was piping hot. I asked for a tray to carry it over and was given a tray from their dirty dishes part of the dish pit. A clean tray was too much? Or are all of their plates ware reused dirty? Oh wait. A gentleman and his son just came in and the woman is being unbelievably rude to him. Her excuse for it with him calling her on it: they close in 20 mins and she is busy with clean up. Guess what... white guy with his son... I have been coming here off and on for years and it has been always good, staff always friendly. I have just now realized, this is the first time I did not come here with my Hispanic friends. They usually choose this place when they are at our place. This is the first time it was just my wife, child and I. We are the only white people in the place at the moment. I'm seeing a trend... Never coming back. read more

friendly people here. carnitas burrito(4) was medium sized and had lots of good fresh tasting meat along with refried beans and rice. this slab was seriously lacking salsa or heat of any kind. i really didn't care about the refried beans. my mind kind of wondered what was this slimy stuff in my mouth. rarely do i get refried beans in my burrito. the burrito would seriously get 5 stars if it had the requisite heat and black or any solid beans, not refried. read more

Let me start by saying that I love the tacos from this place. So cheap and yummy. Second thing I will say is that half the time I go in there I am helped by a very friendly young woman. The other half of the time I am helped by the rudest jerk of a young woman. I wonder why she even works there if she obviously hates the public so much. She has NEVER once smiled at me in the 20 some odd times she's taken my order. She is rude when I order over the phone, to my face and once even asked me when I was ordering food over the phone if I had called the right place because I asked what came on one of the burritos. I have almost completely stopped going to this place because of her. And that really stinks because the rest of the people working there are very nice and make you feel welcome. Also their refried beans are disgusting. Taste like chemicals. Gross. read more

People need to manage their expectations. This is the sort of taqueria that's absolutely ubiquitous in Tucson, where I'm from. As in Tucson, this is straight Sonoran food. What does that mean? Not a lot of cheese, not a lot of sour cream, and rice isn't stuffed into every burrito. This place hits a sweet spot for me. Breakfast burrito has beans, chorizo and eggs. And that's all that should be in there. If you're weird enough to order platters, or anything more complicated than three items inside a tortilla, you're probably also the sort of person who wonders why Burger King won't cook your Whopper medium rare. Look around. Pedro Infante, Emiliano Zapata stare back. Working class heroes both. And that's what you get here. Working class food. I will certainly return. read more

This place really isn't anything special. I've been here twice and both times the food has been mediocre, not a whole lot of flavor. We were hoping to try the Oaxaca mole when we went in last night, but they were out. The light in the bathroom didn't work either, so I peed with the door open and hoped that no one would walk in on me. Pretty forgettable. read more

Today was the last time our family spends another $ at this place. We ordered door dash and when our order arrived, there were no tortillas with the fajitas. Thinking this was a simple error, we called the manager named Richard and he told us that because we didn't choose the type of tortillas, that they didnt send any. We stated that there is no place to choose type of tortillas. He stated he looked at the web site and we are correct. That we can drive there and pick them up. We stated that we ordered door dash because we were not driving. He said then eat them without tortillas. I asked for his manager, which he said was Hugo, however he wasn't available. He stated he couldn't refund the purchase or offer a credit. Never again will we eat or recommend this place. read more

Yummy tacos! BF and I popped in here on a Monday at lunchtime and ordered 4 tacos, 2 soft with shredded beef and two crispy with chicken. We were provided a basket of chips upon request, and dished up from the salsa bar. The chips and salsa were almost gone by the time our food arrived, which was maybe 3-4 minutes - fresh hot chips, and tasty salsa with some kick! I also saw while we ordered a pot full of tomatillos reducing alongside a large pot of rice on the stove. So the other reviewer who said nothing was made fresh, you are most definitely wrong. Crispy tacos were hot hot hot, served deep-fried style and jam packed with chicken, lettuce and cheese. Everything was yummy! The chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy, but just a touch bland so adding some salsa to the taco completed it perfectly. BF's soft tacos with shredded beef were killer - the marinated beef was delicious, and they come loaded with meat and toppings to the point where they are served flat, and BF thought for a moment he was being served a salad! Double corn tortillas to hold everything together, just delicious. $8 for 4 tasty tacos hit the spot, and I will definitely return to tour the menu more! read more

Our family ate here last week because we had picked up a few Bean & Rice burritos for our kids to eat at the Pool across the way a while back, and the kids said the burritos were good. This time I ordered a Chicken Burrito that was not very good at all. The 'refried' beans were runny. The chicken was not shredded, just 2 big pieces stuck in the burrito. I paid extra for Sour Cream and didn't taste any until the last few bites. My spouse ordered a steak tostada and said the steak was very chewy. The food was just mediocre. The prices were OK. I don't think we will give it another try. read more

I've been coming here since highschool. I know some people complain that there are too many highschool kids that kind of linger but that's their main business. They cater to those kids. I remember I was in there for about 3 hours one day because it was raining and I didn't want to walk home in the rain. They never asked me to leave and would still come over to see if I needed anything. Now 7 years later I still have a special place in my heart for this restaurant. And the family that runs it. We live across the street from the cinco de mayo on Clayton road but will still come to eat at this location. I've never been unsatisfied with the food or the service. *However there was a pretty long wait one time but upon finding out they were hosting a fundraiser for a local junior sports team I didn't mind at all :) read more
