My husband and I tried Cinco de Mayo (there are two locations in Martinez, and we went to the one off of Center near Starbucks). We stopped in on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was definitely busy with lots of to-go orders coming through. There were also a few people dining in and enjoying the soccer game. The food did not disappoint! My husband ordered the steak with rice and beans, and I had the chili verde with pork. We also each had a crispy chicken taco. This is what they are known for. Plus we had chips and guacamole to share. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and the flavors were amazing. The guacamole was so creamy and fresh! The staff were friendly and the restaurant was very clean. This is officially our new go-to spot for Mexican food. read more

The crispy tacos were absolutely amazing--perfectly prepared with great flavor and just the right crunch. Everything was made flawlessly, and you could tell care went into every detail. This spot used to be good like 15 years ago. The staff is very friendly and nice but the food quality has just gone downhill. The beans, taste just like most spots now, from a local market, pre made, so much water and flour- they have no flavor. Bring back real beans. Salsa was pretty bland as well. read more

11 Nov, 2025 and Cinco has lost and now has tres star. Went in today to have a Victory Day lunch. We had to clean our own table again in order to have a place to sit. The table has a serious wobbles issue. Are you old enough to remember "Weebles wobbles but they dont fall down" ? The table was like that. An employee apparently on break sat behind me with whatever she had playing on her phone and it was too loud in my ear. Thanks a lot cutie. Now I've got already loud overhead mood music and this employee's phone noise annoyance. To escape the noise pollution, we carried our plates ourselves and soiled a second table. Sorry. Some new customers may need to clean two tables themselves. The food is reasonably priced and for the most part tasty. They need to get their Chilli Relleno operation dialed in though. On one visit they had nada Rellenos. Another visit the Relleno was not Mathew, not Mark but actually Luke warm. Then today the chilli was under roasted and too crunchy. It shouldn't take a knife to eat one of these. read more

Today was our fantastic office lunch that our wonderful owners treat us to. I am a mortician at Diablo Valley Cremation in Concord. Today I got the chicken nacho supreme, and oh my word the size of these nachos is overwhelming !!! It is filled with seasoned chunks of grilled chicken, fresh guacamole, fresh toppings, like jalapeños, green onions, tomatoes, salsa, cheese, sour cream etc. I am stuffed and I haven't eaten half yet. This place is great. The food is phenomenal and I will definitely be coming back!!! read more

One of my fave spots to get Mexican food in Martinez. From the burritos, nachos , enchilada, and the bean dip are fire!!!!! I usually get food to go, their dining area is small, but great to do takeout. The service is great, very respectful and nice, I've been going here for years before I decided to write this long awaited review, there are a couple of staff that are still there that I remember. The food looks really good! I have been here a couple of times and today was the day to rate it. The gentleman by the name of Alejandro, made sure all my food, sides, and utensils were in my bag, ohh and my drink! First timer! Had lunch with a friend who frequents this restaurant. I decided on a grilled chicken taco salad, no beans and guac on the side. Also ordered the watermelon lime aguas frescas. Yes, I wrote a rave review in the past for Cinco De Mayo! However, as with all things good some must cease! My reason for 3 stars is due to the outrageous increase in their prices! Only a few months ago the burritos were $8.96. That's a very fair price. Now they are well over $11 dollars. The entire menu increased drastically. That being said, it's still pretty good food. I always order the vegetarian burrito, and while quite tasty it's chock full of beans and skimpy on the other ingredients! The service is spot on! The gals who work there are super friendly and never mess up my order! The staff are the ones who deserve a pay increase! If you choose to dine in there's a few tables inside, and a couple large tables outside. All in all it's definitely worth going to Cinco De Mayo! Just be prepared to pay more! read more

It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. I was really looking forward to their Fiesta Burrito with carne asada. I had their fiesta burritos many times in the past and they were always very good. I ordered this to go around 7:30 pm which may explain the issue. I went right home and unwrapped it and it seemed it should have been hotter. I microwaved it for about 90 seconds to get it hot. Right away it just did not taste that good. The meat was tough. I was real hungry so I just kept eating hoping it would get better. But no luck. At one point there was a piece of meat that was actually cold despite the other surrounding ingredients being warm/hot. So, I think they must have had this thing in the refrigerator and heated it up some before they closed. Disappointing dinner and I am not likely to go back. read more

I felt as if I was magically transported to tenochtitlan. to the Templo Mayor. the high priest chanting his ancient prayers as he cut the heart out of his living sacrifice. this taco salad made me see things I did not want to see. I ended up going to back to here. The first item I had tried was their super burrito which I really enjoyed. I came back and tried their horchata and torta. Everything was delicious and it's now become a staple for me to visit during my lunch at work. It's always busy during lunch time, service is fast and the workers are friendly. Well, at least I can say I tried it. I was looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the area and stumbled upon this one. I ordered the fumoso burrito with grilled chicken, which was a disappointment. The burrito was just OKAY. What turned me off was the consistency and taste of the chicken. It did not taste like it was cooked thoroughly. It had a chewy, rubbery texture and also lacked flavor. In addition, the melted cheese on top did not have a natural pull, which makes me believe it's bagged/store bought, rather than freshly graded. However, I will say -- the staff was friendly and welcoming, but I will not be returning to this place. read more

Food is good. Service is subpar. There's always an attitude and stinginess. Last time, I ordered five tacos, a relleno, New nachos, a quesadilla and a burrito and she would not give me six salsas. She said her max is five. I said fine, but COME ON! I could have easily dumped two salsas on the nachos alone. Food for four people should include eight salsas and I was not greedily asking for six. I got home and my entree was missing. Bummer as it's far from home. I went back the next week and excitedly splurged on a half pint of salsa that comes with chips.
