I'm leaving this review only because I grew up eating chorizo con huevos and to this day it is my favorite breakfast dish. Tortillas de harina... some frijoles refritos. Con madre!...IYKYK. So I stopped at DC to give them a second chance at making me a "Whopping 5 egg" chorizo burrito with tots and cheese inside. Well lets just say that did not happen. Maybe 2 eggs, chorizo and tots with some cheese. How do I know? I made myself a chorizo burrito the next day, no tots only chorizo con huevos and cheese. And I used 3 eggs. And as you can see there's no way that the burrito i purchased from DC is 5 eggs plus tots n cheese. That burrito would be massive. DC's burrito is definitely not that, less than average at best. It's unfortunate because I live around the corner and was hoping to find a solid restaurant to pick up a burrito of my favorite breakfast on the go. The search continues. Only suggestion...don't advertise what is not being served to your paying customers. Pics...mine the unwrapped one, obviously.

We had Tacos Don Chai for a graduation party. I would definitely consider them for a party! The catering offers tacos (3 kinds), salsas, beans, rice and agua fresca. If I'm in the area for work, I'll definitely check out their restaurant since I can't give a fair review of the restaurant, but their catering is spot on!

I really wanted to like this restaurant, the reviews are amazing and pictures make it look great. When you get there, the restaurant is compact so you may have to pull chairs to complete a table if you're in a big group. We ordered birria super burritos, they came with a few different salsa options, it appeared to be Chipotle salsa, a pineapple(?) style salsa, and a green one I'm not too sure of. They only had one agua Fresca flavor, guanabana. I cut my burrito in half because the portion size was big. The burrito was a mess; lots of moisture, not enough rice to absorb it and lacking of flavor. It really tasted like it was thrown together, which I assume is because they were busy. The staff were friendly, as friendly as possible considering how busy they were. I understand birria is made in consume so the moisture is inevitable, however I feel adding more rice would have helped counteract it. If someone opted to go there, I'd recommend something other than the burritos.

I've been all over the Bay, from SF's Breakfast Little to Berkeley's La Mission. Tacos Don Chai has one of the best, if not the best breakfast burrito in the Bay. I typically order the sausage or go no meat and add guac. The tater tots are always fried to a crunchy perfection. The scrambled eggs are light and fluffy. But the real secret is the layer of grilled cheese just under the tortilla, making each bite filled with gooey, cheesy deliciousness. For salsas, I get their salsa verde. But I also like to mix their piña and their fiery salsa rojo, which gives the burrito a great spice with a touch of sweetness.

This place thrives on the simple principle that melty cheese improves what it is on - why not take a delicious taco and melt the cheese as well? They call it a quesataco - I call it delicious. You can't go wrong with the protein selection but don't overlook the basic chicken. Each has a distinct spice blend. They have a great team of folks making delicious food and providing stellar service. I was feeling low touch on my last visit and quietly entered my order on the kiosk but the team members warmly reached out to make me feel welcome. The place is right next to an incredibly imposing industrial complex (refinery) but from the outside eating area you would never tell with the peaceful garden and fountain setup. Watch out for the sauces. They kick.

Finally getting around to updating my pics! The outdoor patio is even more lovely to enjoy while having a meal. The plants give it a grounding feel and the live edge tables and benches add a calmness to contrast with the metal chairs. Note: The one with the red table was how it looked a few years ago.

10/10 Food is so delicious. Service was great. Ambiance has some nice outdoor seating and a minimal indoor seating. Great vibes and great food.

I've heard that Tacos Don Chai had really good tacos! However, I didn't get to try it until recently. My boyfriend wanted to try a place that offers chicken quesatacos, because he can't eat beef (quesabirria). We haven't found a local restaurant that really stood out to him, until we tried Don Chai! We ordered for pick up through Door Dash because their website wasn't working. I didn't realize they close so early (5pm)! We ordered around 4:30pm and our food was ready fairly quickly! The food smelled so good!!! I ordered 3 quesabirria's with consome on the side. The consome was in a small container and didn't cost extra, but you had to request it. The tacos also came with 3 different salsas. My boyfriend really enjoyed his 3 chicken quesatacos and said that this was our new place to go! The tacos we had were nice and crispy and weren't greasy at all! Who knew Martinez had a solid taco spot?! Glad we tried Tacos Don Chai and found our new local quesabirria/quesataco spot!

^__^Vegetarian and Vegan Friendly!!^__^ Foods: 5/5. Very flavorful, cooked right, and fresh. Pipping hot - almost burned my tongue! Crispy charred burrito skin! Crispy flat bread pizza! Signature Pineapple mild salsa? Yummm!! Other salsas are fresh too! They have bags of horchata and other drinks you can buy and make at home. Service: 5/5. Staff immediately said "Hi" upon walk-in. They wanted to help with order and questions. Ambiance: 5/5. Indoor and outside seatings available. Clean. Nice guys. Family owned restaurant. (Bonus) Cleanliness: 5/5. The guys are literally scrubbing the floor mat and wiping window before closing. They wear gloves too. Vegetarian friendly. Vegan friendly: Yes - Veggies (fresh bellpeppers) as protein for super/regular burrito. Other options include: rice, cheese (can omit), and beans burrito AND rice and beans as side. Dog friendly: Yes - Outdoor patio.

I rarely make it out to Martinez, but this place has been on my radar for a while. I ordered the Super Burrito with birria and the chilaquiles rojos with chorizo, an over-easy egg, and rice and beans. The chilaquiles were outstanding, honestly the best I've had in a long time. The flavors were spot on, and I highly recommend ordering them the same way I did. The Super Burrito was also really good. I loved the smokiness of the red sauce, while the green sauce had a creamy, tangy lime flavor that balanced everything nicely. I noticed a lot of people ordering takeout, and although the inside dining area is small, there's plenty of space out on the porch. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
