Such a cute and fun place to visit. They have a ton of various snacks, beef jerky, hot sauce and more to choose from. We also got their date shake, which was absolutely delicious! Service is also great! Good place to stop for a quick break before Vegas!
A really great stop when driving into Vegas from California. This is one of the very last stops that you can make before leaving California and the way I understand it is for a long time. It used to be the very last stop that you could make. Currently, you can get gas here, but it's well known for its date shakes and other refreshments. I stopped in during my most recent drive to Vegas and had a date shake, which is one of my favorite things and overall enjoyed it. It's not nearly as good as Shield's over near Palm Desert but still this was a great version. It's a solid stop for gas with fair pricing and I would recommend.
I'm writing this review because this is somewhere I'm going to be going and the more research it the more I wanna go there. it's interesting watching a mining town. I wanna see how it works and I think it's cool that there's less than 50 people living there. Talk about a small town very cool. Is there a bar?
Stopped by on the way home from Vegas because Mom wanted a Date Shake. It was too sweet for my liking but Mom definitely enjoyed it. Staff was staffing... Located @ gas station & "Bird House".
Swinged by here for a quick stop. Saw this place on youtube one night and remember hearing people go crazy for the date shake. Great shake. Especially on a hot summer day.
Perfect little stop on the way to or from Vegas! They have a gas station, as well as a shop with tons of unique items like many Route 66 memorabilia, auto products, candy, snacks and drinks! I love that it's not your typical gas station that you see everywhere. Really gives a small town vibe. The bathroom was pretty small (only 3 stalls) and it wasn't too clean, but, that's something that is typically expected with these busy rest stops.

I stumbled upon Cima Mining Company while driving up to Vegas after spotting a sign claiming they had the best date shake -- and as a date lover, I had to make a quick stop. The shop also sells a variety of snacks and drinks, which I didn't have time to explore, but I definitely will next time. A special shoutout to Doc, who helped me out -- he was such a sweetheart and super friendly, which made the experience even better. This place is a total hidden gem and 100% worth the stop. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone passing through!

Saw this place as a recommended stop on the way to Las Vegas so we had to check it out. Wasn't hard to find and was surprised we never noticed this place all the times going to Las Vegas. The date shake was sooooooo good! My wife didn't like the chunks of date that was in it though. My son ordered the chili cheese fries and him and my wife said it was delicious. The fries were crunchy and the chili on it was perfect with the cheese and topped with onions. Wait for the food wasn't too long and there's tables and chairs you can sit and enjoy your order. My youngest enjoyed all of the candy displayed and the jerky was a massive variety. There was a little box where you can sample some of the jerky before buying. Neat stop to take the kids
Right off the highway, this is an easy and worthwhile stop for some food. Lots of snack options - from standard chips to interesting jerky and speciality sodas. Main event is the date shake - absolutely delicious (even if I'd never heard of it before seeing the billboards along the 15). They blend actual dates freshly into each shake, so there are little pieces throughout. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Bathroom is small but clean and well stocked.
We stumbled upon Cima Mining Co. completely by accident, and it ended up being one of our favorite stops on the way back to Vegas. We only pulled into the gas station to use the restroom and noticed a small stand right next to it selling date shakes. Curiosity got the best of us and we're so glad it did. For around $7, the date shake was incredibly creamy, rich, and full of natural date flavor without being overly sweet. You can really taste the dates, and the texture was smooth with little pieces of dates and so satisfying, especially after a long drive. It was one of those unexpected treats that instantly puts you in a better mood. The location itself is super convenient if you're driving through the area, and it's honestly the perfect quick stop to break up the trip. What started as a simple bathroom break turned into a memorable food stop we'll definitely be looking forward to on future drives. We were pleasantly surprised by how good it was and are genuinely happy we stopped. This has officially become a must-stop for us every time we're heading back to Vegas. If you're passing through, don't skip it... get the date shake. You won't regret it.
Recently made a stop at this location and bought the date shake. It was loaded with sugar. It would taste better if it had less sugar. While I was in the store, I needed to use the restroom. I waited approximately 15 minutes to use the dirtiest restroom. The wastebasket in the stall was overflowing with toilet paper. The strong urine odor was unbearable. Don't recommend using the restroom at this location.
My coworker told me about this during their last trip to Vegas so I made a stop on my way over. I was worried there would be a line or long wait and was happy to find that you can order online for scheduled pick up. I showed up early and used the restroom which was clean but it was busy so there was a small line for 3 stalls. There are to go packs of food including hot chicken sandwiches at the counter. I let the staff know I was picking up and they pulled my shake from a freezer and topped with whip cream as requested. They do not skimp on the dates. It is full of flavor and has a sweet caramel flavor. Unfortunately a bit too sweet for me but with more vanilla ice cream, it would be just perfect for me. The fwy overpass road was damaged but operating with one lane and there was a sign posted in front of Cima Mining Company that it was damaged in a hit and run. read more
If the shape of the roof looks familiar, it's the old Stuckey's the landmark roadside traveler's oasis back in the day. How many people have memories of stopping at such a place in the family station wagon? The famous date shake is smooth and creamy with bits of date chopped real fine. It wasn't as sweet as I feared but just right considering how sweet dates are naturally. For $7 I think it's a decent deal. The place draws a good crowd and has all kinds of great things to munch on the road or take to friends. read more

We have wanted to stop here for years, so happy that we did. We didn't realize how cute the whole place is and the food and Date Shakes are absolutely fantastic. Great to stop by with the kids, they'd enjoy seeing the mining relics and maybe buy some fresh Jerry and delicious sweets for after breakfast, lunch or dinner. read more

MUST STOP. The date shake billboards drew us in. We didn't get gas at the shell, but we definitely got a date shake to share and other snacks as well as ice. Friendly and attentive service. Lots of gifts and treats and drinks. Outdoor seating. Restrooms available. Air hand dryer. read more

Can't resist a date shake with a 10 mile radius. Stop on my way to Vegas and decided to try the spicy chicken too. The sandwich gets a 3 1/2 stars. It wasn't very spicy and could have used more pickles. Plus, I wish it was more crispy on the outside. The date shake gets a 5 stars! Perfect consistency and lots of little specks of dates in it. This is always our favorite rest stop whenever we're heading to Vegas. Their jerky is amazing & honestly the best we've found. We tried the one at the alien place, and it didn't even come close to Cima Mining Co. The staff here are always so kind and welcoming, and we've never had anything but a great experience. :-) read more

Have to go to work and wanted to stop for some coffee but whoever's working at this time in the morning always has the door locked due to him mopping which I understand, however, off a major freeway and when people are going to work and would like to stop and have a cup of coffee for the road have to wait until close to 5. Be cautious coming on days and at 4am because they might not be open even though they're supposed to be. During the day is a great place to stop! read more

Nice spot to stop for trucks or autos to get your fiddles aka snacks and tingz. They have a large selection of Jerky,hot sauces, chocolate covered snacks/brittles, souvenirs, list goes on. The date shake is delicious and the customer service followed with the cleanliness was great. Will definitely be a return customer. Pull up on your way to LV. read more

I've been wanting to try this date milkshake for over 25 years, and thanks to a freeway traffic jam, I finally had the perfect excuse to stop by! At $6.99, the date shake is very reasonably priced. The server was incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better. I would definitely come back for another one--this was truly a "just in time" moment. The interior has a unique, retro-money-themed décor that adds to the charm. Highly recommend making a stop if you're in the area! read more

This place is a great roadside gem. The chicken tenders (original) with seasoned crinkle cut fries are terrific. Dip the fries in their bird sauce - yum. Then, pair it with a date shake, and you have an amazing meal. The service is so nice and friendly. I will definitely stop again when I next pass through. read more

Shake shake shake Shake your booty to them Medjool date shakes!! I struck gold y'all!!! Location: 15 N Interstate freeway, Nipton, CA. You'll see signs on the side right before the exit. It's an all in one pit stop. If you need gas, you can get it here. It's a Shell gas station. Interior: Restrooms are located inside and it's to the left. They have 30 kinds of jerky (buffalo, elk, alligator, tuna, beef, and more) and it's on the wall to the left as well. If you want to buy some gem stones, you'll find them here as well. They have everything here!! Service: Quick and friendly. Can't complain. We placed the order, paid, and picked up the drinks on the right. Drinks: 2 organic Medjool dates shakes please ($5.99, each). The shake consisted of local organic dates and vanilla ice cream. Love the consistency and how it just melts inside my mouth MUST TRY the Medjool dates shake!! On another note, they need to clean the restrooms! read more

We always saw the sign for the date shake on the way into Vegas and decided to finally stop by and grab one. It's pretty good! I would definitely give it a try if you haven't had one before. I wouldn't say it's a must-have but it is good. It's about $6 for it, and they serve it with a boba straw since there are pieces of blended dates throughout it. read more
