We stumbled upon Cima Mining Co. completely by accident, and it ended up being one of our favorite stops on the way back to Vegas. We only pulled into the gas station to use the restroom and noticed a small stand right next to it selling date shakes. Curiosity got the best of us and we're so glad it did. For around $7, the date shake was incredibly creamy, rich, and full of natural date flavor without being overly sweet. You can really taste the dates, and the texture was smooth with little pieces of dates and so satisfying, especially after a long drive. It was one of those unexpected treats that instantly puts you in a better mood. The location itself is super convenient if you're driving through the area, and it's honestly the perfect quick stop to break up the trip. What started as a simple bathroom break turned into a memorable food stop we'll definitely be looking forward to on future drives. We were pleasantly surprised by how good it was and are genuinely happy we stopped. This has officially become a must-stop for us every time we're heading back to Vegas. If the shape of the roof looks familiar, it's the old Stuckey's the landmark roadside traveler's oasis back in the day. How many people have memories of stopping at such a place in the family station wagon? The famous date shake is smooth and creamy with bits of date chopped real fine. A really great stop when driving into Vegas from California. This is one of the very last stops that you can make before leaving California and the way I understand it is for a long time. It used to be the very last stop that you could make. Currently, you can get gas here, but it's well known for its date shakes and other refreshments. I stopped in during my most recent drive to Vegas and had a date shake, which is one of my favorite things and overall enjoyed it. It's not nearly as good as Shield's over near Palm Desert but still this was a great version. It's a solid stop for gas with fair pricing and I would recommend. read more

Perfect little stop on the way to or from Vegas! They have a gas station, as well as a shop with tons of unique items like many Route 66 memorabilia, auto products, candy, snacks and drinks! I love that it's not your typical gas station that you see everywhere. Really gives a small town vibe. Recently made a stop at this location and bought the date shake. It was loaded with sugar. It would taste better if it had less sugar. While I was in the store, I needed to use the restroom. I waited approximately 15 minutes to use the dirtiest restroom. The wastebasket in the stall was overflowing with toilet paper. The strong urine odor was unbearable. Saw this place as a recommended stop on the way to Las Vegas so we had to check it out. Wasn't hard to find and was surprised we never noticed this place all the times going to Las Vegas. The date shake was sooooooo good! My wife didn't like the chunks of date that was in it though. My son ordered the chili cheese fries and him and my wife said it was delicious. The fries were crunchy and the chili on it was perfect with the cheese and topped with onions. Wait for the food wasn't too long and there's tables and chairs you can sit and enjoy your order. Have to go to work and wanted to stop for some coffee but whoever's working at this time in the morning always has the door locked due to him mopping which I understand, however, off a major freeway and when people are going to work and would like to stop and have a cup of coffee for the road have to wait until close to 5. They came back with nothing because THE SMELL! It smelled like backed up sewer. My son said he wasn't eating anything from there. Gas was $5.58! We were told gas prices in Cali were crazy so we were frustrated but thought we were entering a state with crazy gas prices. Not true. As we drove in prices everywhere else were around $3-4.
