The fusion of Peruvian and Cuban was excellent and the atmosphere was sexy and vibrant. I had to try their piscojito cocktail which is a fusion of a mojito and pisco sour. Loved it!! We got a variety of dishes to share: octopus appetizer (Revolucion de Pulpo), Inka Maki (an interesting octopus roll), traditional ceviche, a chicken dish and the skirt steak (Churrasco a lo Pobre). Everything was excellent and teaming with nuances of flavors. The only gripe is the chicken was a bit dry but still good. As the evening progressed, live singing and music commenced. They were a talented pair singing song requests. The ambience and stage here make this place fun and also perfect for a date. Our server and staff was also very friendly, upbeat and solicitous. This location has a few parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant with both indoor & outdoor seating and is right by Lincoln Road mall. This place is perfect for a quick meal, any time of day. Even though it was relatively close to their closing time when I stopped by, the staff were nice and worked quickly to serve everyone. I ordered a fish taco, a crispy fish taco and the carne asada taco, a tamarind Jarrito and churros. My favorite taco was definitely the carne asada and I would come back for that taco and the churros alone, but would also like to try their other menu items. The presentation of the tacos when ordered to go weren't appealing, but they are fresh, tasty and affordable. I definitely recommend The Taco Stand and will keep this place in my rotation of Miami Beach eats!

I decided to try HotLime after seeing that the places I normally eat at were both gone. I got an order of three tacos: one shorty (short rib) and two chipotle chick. The short rib was tender and not fatty, and the chipotle chick was good and not too spicy. My order came out in a good amount of time that it was clearly fresh, but didn't take forever. My only complaint is the price. You expect it to be expensive for because of the area, but the price was made extra annoying because of the portion sizes. I got three tiny street tacos, and it didn't come with rice, beans, chips, or anything.

The ceviche was decent, but it wasn't the best I've had. I personally like my ceviche much more limey and bright, and this one just didn't have enough citrus for my taste. What really bothered me were the extra charges. I was charged $4.50 for a Coke Zero and then a 15% service charge. For what? This is a food hall where you order at the counter, they leave your food there, and you have to go pick it up yourself. I'm not sure what service the 15% charge was supposed to cover. The portion was good for the price, but between the average ceviche, the expensive soda, and the service charge, I just didn't feel like the experience was worth it. I wouldn't rush back.

Ceviche is the star, with big succulent pieces of fish, choclo (giant corn), sweet potato, and avocado soaking up delightful leche de tigre (ceviche juice). The causa was a work of art. And the fresh tostones were thick and savory, the perfect mix of soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We shared everything we ordered. The restaurant is a hole in the wall, casual with cute and colorful decor like llamas, flowers and neon lights, with indoor and outdoor seating. It's equally equipped for a date night or just getting some good food straight off of the beach. Can't believe how long we've passed by and seen it without realizing the quality feast awaiting us inside. Service was efficient, each dish arriving fresh and speedy to our table as soon as it was made. Chef Julio was friendly with us and asked how we enjoyed everything, especially the leche de tigre.
