Cielo is absolutely stunning the decor is amazing and had a fabulous time. Food and service is great and Charles is a treasure.

The restaurant is beautiful and romantic, we came in with our little kids and my mom while on vacation. We had reservations and were seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. All of the meals were fresh and delicious , the dessert could have been better if the pineapple upside down cake would have been served warm. Overall great place!

Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful menu. Service was top notch. I've never had squid ink pasta and wasn't sure what to think since I'm not a fan of squid but I'm glad I trusted the sever with his recommendation!

Anyone who follows my dining reviews knows that I rarely ever award 5 to a restaurant. To receive accolades on this level from me means the experience has to be exceptional. And our dinner at Cielo ticked off all the boxes. The minute you step through the door, you know you're in a fine dining establishment. From the white linen table cloths set with Pina lights to the elegant bar area, from the beautiful artwork that adorns the walls to the thoughtful window treatments ... and then there is Scott, the delightful piano player who visited each table introducing himself and asking if we had any requests. This is where the well-heeled on Sanibel, Captiva and Fort Meyers dine. How refreshing to be among patrons who dressed appropriately for the occasion - like my husband and I always do - showing respect to the owner of Cielo, its managers, chef and dedicated team. Our dinner started with two superb adult libations. Lots of fun cocktails to choose from! Mine was called What She's Having and my husband chose One For Mary Jo. Both were very good and recommended. It doesn't usually happen this way but we both made the same choices for our meals. The Escargot Rockefeller was over-the-top delicious. Ditto the Veal Scallopini Milanese, a divine and generous presentation of veal cutlet with Gorgonzola served over salad. We did not have room for dessert, unfortunately. It was getting late and we didn't want to hold up the staff. But we did enjoy a double espresso which was served with a chocolate biscotti. Spot-on! Cielo's is among our top picks for fine dining on Sanibel. We can't wait to return. Be sure to experience it!

If you need only one reason to go to Sanibel Island, it would be for THIS restaurant. Truly a "destination restaurant." Need I say more?

Cielo was delicious. However, it seemed a bit overpriced for the quality of food. The drink bar is terrific.

Now not every unit has a beach view, but some do. Ours was located second building back from the beach. We had been to Sanibel before but never stayed on the island. Should have done sooner. We checked in at the front desk. Staff was nice and gave us a bag with their logo fir shelling. They also gave us arm bracelets which are door keys and let them know you are staying at the resort. The unit was clean and maintained each day by the staff. The resort offers free lounge chairs on the beach for guests. Pool area was nice, and there is a staff member that asks if you want to to order anything from the kitchen or any drinks. Beach was a short walk from our room on the first floor. We had no problem finding parking by our unit each night. Room has a mini fridge, small working table with chair, small microwave, ironing board, and our unit had 2 queen beds. We visited many restaurants on the island during our stay. Recommend if you make it down to Captiva the restaurant called the bubbleroom. Water pressure was good. Ice machines down the hall from us. They have food on-site but we were usually driving to try restaurants on the island.

I have food allergies and was very surprised that with their price fixed menu I had little to no options to enjoy alternative food options. I only got a portion of the appetizer because the rest of it had dairy that I couldn't eat. There was no substitute for the mashed potatoes in the entree so I just didn't get any. And there was nothing to substitute in the dessert so I got nothing. YET - I still had to pay the $65 fixed price for half a meal. Super disappointing.

We had very good service throughout even though they were busy. We weren't rushed. We dined leisurely but without gaps between courses. We shared a Caesar salad to start. It was a good appetizer. For my main entree, I had the lamb chops. There were two double chops perfectly cooked to my request -- crisped on the outside. They were delicious. And served over mashed potatoes with asparagus and carrots. The portion was large. My husband had the burgundy braised short ribs. The meat was tender and flavorful. He said the sauce they were in was just rich and wonderful. We were too full to try any of their desserts. As we were leaving, we both said that this restaurant is a "keeper". We wished we'd been here sooner.

We came for lunch just before any rush. We were seated right away…read more I was happy to see that they're "back" and reopened. We came here many years ago and enjoyed their food. The place is casual, rustic, and come as you are. Got our drinks pdq. We decided to share a combo pot. But after some soup. Got the conch chowder. It came in a large, pretty plastic conch "shell". It was slightly spicy, but not much. In fact, there's hot sauces on the table if you need more heat. There was a nice amount of ground conch pieces in a tasty tomato based broth. It was big enough to share, btw. Then we got their combo steamed pot -- 1 dozen clams and 1 dozen oysters. This takes awhile to cook as we knew it would. So if you get one of these, order soup or an app while you're waiting. The clams are the cedar key ones. Small but tasty. We didn't use the melted butter, but asked for cocktail sauce instead. The oysters -- which you have to shuck with the provided knives -- were wonderful! I'd probably get all oysters next time. In the bottom of the pot are celery and onions which you can also eat. So glad we got to come here and enjoy lunch. We will be back next time on island.
