Not impressed. Ordered both chicken and veal parmesan with extra cheese (add $4 each) and the cheese was still minimal. Came with the smallest piece of garlic bread that was barely seasoned. Missed the mark all around: sauce was very salty, breading was soggy and had zero flavor. The only good thing was that the pasta was cooked well to avoid becoming mushy from all the liquid in the bottom of the dish from the sauce. Delivery fee of $4 and came in 45 minutes as told when the order was placed. The food was cold when it arrived, which I can somewhat understand, but the quality didn't outshine anything. This is Worcester's hidden gem. Its not fancy. No frills, no gimmicks or gags. Just quality food. This is an excellent lunch spot any day of the week. A mom and pop place that has an almost at home feel. I'm not a huge fan of eating here, especially in the winter time, because it is a small place and everytime the door opens there's a nice gust of cold air. Getting here confuses out of towners. haha@ them. That said, I really don't have anything to complain about here. My friends and family have been eating here for years and years and have never complained about any of the food. You really can't pick something bad on the menu.Start with one of their subs or wraps. You will instantly be astonished at the portion sizes (because that sammy can be your lunch AND dinner) I particularly like the lemon chicken wrap. Very fresh and with a hommade taste you cannot fake or cover up with sauces. Speaking of sauces, when you order their delicious fresh pasta dishes, none of those sauces come from a can or jar. This is what I find to be the best trait about a place that would be easily mistaken for a pizza joint. Also some of the best tiramisu I've EVER had. And I don't joke around when it comes to Tiramisu. Prices are reasonable if not low for some items... most of the huge sandwiches are around 7 bucks! For the price the portions are large. Everything looked delicious, including the desserts. The ciao Bella was was watery was very flavorful. Reheated next day was perfect amount of sauce. The chicken and broccoli pasta was also on the watery side but good. Again tasted great next day. Service is not always prompt but always friendly. Driving home in defeat, I came across this place, and was ordered by my counterpart to stop in. First thing you notice is that this place is small. Despite the parking lot being busier then an airport, there are about a dozen tables, as well as a kitchen, stuffed into a building the size of a college dorm. They offer delivery, as well as takeout, but we opted to eat in. No real decor in the place aside from a poster or two. Wouldn't wear anything you value too highly as you're likely coming out smelling like you worked in the kitchen. Waitress was extremely kind and quick, furnishing the table with some great bread and dip as appetizers. Ordered the ravioli in red sauce, which came in a timely manor. Sauce was rather tasty, but the ravioli lacked a bit of flavor. Prices were very reasonable, portions about average though. Not someplace I'd bring a date or go for a fancy night out, but if you're in the mood for some good food, or need a place for takeout, I would definitely stop here. read more

This is one of the better places in the area for Italian food but they are very inconsistent. in my opinion and experiences can be very interesting. Just discovered this hidden gem. Along with winning incredible awards, getting a Great-8 review from the Phantom Gourmet, this was my first trip here, and the rumors are true. Huge portions and delicious. The brick oven pizza is fantastic and their small pizzas are 44% larger than their competition! The chicken parm is heavenly. The homemade sauce is a perfect blend of sour, sweet, salty with a fresh tomato flavor. The homemade bread comes complimentary with sauce. This is my new favorite italian restaurant. The BAD part and the part that will turn away many people is that the kitchen staff is very unprofessional. I had gotten the tiramisu from Ciao Bella before, but never ate there. It was really good, so when I had a chance to try their food, I jumped at it. Really small place inside. Nothing fancy or special, just very simple. That wasn't a problem at all. We sat in the corner and the waitress brought us warm bread and marinara sauce right away. It was very good- obviously fresh and homemade. Mmm. I got the tomato, mozzarella, and prosciutto panini. There was actually a good amount of prosciutto (which is surprising- most places only put a tiny bit!) and the mozzarella was incredible. It also had a pesto on it which was delicious. Very simple, but the flavors together were perfect. The bread was nice and crispy and grilled just right. My friend got the calzone and it was huge. My only complaint was that they didn't have any tiramisu that day! Overall, this place is great, and I would definitely recommend it. This small joint is turning out some really good food. It is hard core Italian (as are almost all the cooking and waiting staff), with a nod given to other ethnicities in their specials. You basically have three sides to the menu: 1. Great deal cheap but filling Italian food like subs and simple pasta, 2. Some of the best pizza in Worcester, and 3. Higher-end gourmet Italian that is priced to match. Priced to match meaning while everything else on the menu is about $10 or less per person, their daily specials hit $20+. If you desire more gourmet and fresher fare, it is worth it. If you are hungry and near this place, you deserve to check it out. Note that they only have a few tables so it may be hard to get seating during normal eat times. Favs include: Ravioli, any of their Pizza, and any daily specials if I have the money. read more

This place is top notch!!! I was taking a class in Worcester three Wednesdays in a row and the first class I tried Ciao Bella and had the Italian Sub. it was huge...I meah HUGE! and DELICIOUS!!! The second week I went back and had a spicy italian sausage dish which was as good and by the way the price is right...very affordable...mostly I think because the place is no frills. good food fast...sit down, they take your order, you eat, and you're gone... The third week I had a calzone which was also huge and delicious and again, for two people we spent $15 for lunch and we were stuffed... Highly Recommend Ciao Bella exceeded ALL EXPECTATIONS! I catered a full Garden Party Bridal shower from Ciao Bella this weekend. The food was FANTASTIC! Greek Lamb and Chicken Shishkebob skewers, Spanakopita, Pita, Hummas, Tzadziki and an authentic Greek Salad with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions. Everything was cooked to perfection. The Lamb Kebobs and Chicken Kebobs were seasoned with authentic greek flavors and were perfect. I would recommend Ciao Bella to friends and will definitely cater any large or small event with them again. My first trip I ordered an Italian grinder and it was good. Maybe there good at making cold food. The desert is the same. I ordered the carrot cake and it was ordinary. I had better at Walgreens Dish Aisle where they sell the fruits. Pros: THE FOOD. It's amazing. Some of the best in the city despite prices that have crept up over the years. Cons: The dine in service. Ugh. It's a small place with less than ten tables. Recently sat down and waited five minutes for a server. Asked and was told it would be just a minute. Kept waiting about ten more minutes. Ordered take out many times before and always had great sandwiches. Usually got the same roll up - Mellanzane. Decided to try another one that contained grilled chicken, feta, spinach and hummus. Got it home and waited awhile to eat. When I finally opened the box, red onions fell out of the roll up. out. Two problems: no red onions in the description and there was no feta in the roll up. My absolute favorite pizza place in Worcester! Literally order take out from here almost every week and have had them cater so many family get togethers over the past few years. In particular it's the pizza dough that is something special. My kids even eat their crusts... it's that good. Over the past 5 years I have gone to Caio Bella a hand full of times - and even recommended it to friends. The food is average and the portions are sizable. Here is my Beef! The Ciao Bella staff needs a serious attitude adjustment for me to ever give them my money again. Caio Bella is a restaurant - and restaurants are in the service industry. In the service industry - the customer is always right - or at least should be treated with some respect. My last 4 encounters with the people that work at Caio Bella have been like nothing I have experienced in any restaurant - even inner city fast food joints. Last time I ordered take out - they forgot- or maybe ate half of the food I had ordered. I then waited around in their tiny little restaurant for 40 minutes with no explanation - no sorry - no "here is a little bread while you wait", Just a buch of employees that obviously dont give a shit about their customers. I dont give my money to people that think their pizza's shit doest stink to the point they dont need to care about their customers. Sorry bella - you lost my business and my recommendation. Last minute lunch with my wife. Went here because it was close, never been. Wow, what a gem. Looks like a take out with a fair amount of tables to sit. The food was FAR from take out. As we sat we were greeted by a pleasant server who gave us bread and hot marinara. I ordered a chicken parmigiana grinder. No frozen deep fried chicken patties on a sub roll. Breaded chicken pan fried with delicious red sauce, loaded cheese on a nice fresh Italian roll. My wife had a Mediterranean salad with a mint dressing so good, she bought 2 pints. It was huge. So my review is mostly based on delivery orders that we have placed with this restaurant - I work not far from this place and it is a known fact that we have to order early in order to get our food anywhere around lunch time (generally 1 hour ahead of time unless you call when it is really busy then 1 and a half hours is not out of the questions.) Wish I knew names because some of their delivery drivers are AWESOME - offering to bring larger orders through the building etc - which can sometimes be a feat with ordering for meetings etc. I really appreciate that. Others are okay - we once had a time crunch between one of the partners leaving a meeting and the food was already running late and me and one of my co-workers watched the delivery driver finish a conversation on his cell phone before coming in (at least 5 minutes but we felt awkward about walking over to his car). Today there was another meeting and the partners requested that I place the lunch order "where ever we usually order" - well that is Ciao Bella so I printed the menu and sent it up and placed our order. I always check the order over 2 or 3 times before actually placing the order online as the people I am ordering from OWN the company that I work for! As I was setting out the lunch orders and distributing I saw that ALL of the salads had Balsalmic dressing - I assumed that this couldn't be right because one of the partners ordered a chicken caesar with caesar dressing (and extra dressing at that). So when I saw this I quietly took that salad out of the meeting room so I could call about it. When I called the restaurant they put me on with someone who said "check the salads hunnie I sent SIX salads." I said yes, you sent SIX but I assume this one isn't correct as it has a dark dressing, I assume its balsalmic too. We went back and fourth and she ended up telling me that I could come pick up ANOTHER chicken caesar with caesar dressing and I would have to pay for it again, at which point I refused to come pick it up - this wasn't ANOTHER - it was the original and I had already left one of the partners sitting there without lunch while everyone else ate. I told them the existing salad was fine and just to send caesar dressing but I'm not paying anymore money. I had already placed a $100 lunch order with this company on a Wednesday during the day. I understand that this is place is typically busy anyways but they seemed ungrateful for the business. This was a mistake that THEY made on their end as all of my order information said CAESAR WITH EXTRA CAESAR DRESSING and they made me feel like a jerk for actually wanting that and furthermore for not coming to pick it up. End of story, my very nice delivery driver (again I wish I knew his name) delivered me 2 containers of the caesar dressing and I was happy. When there is another meeting (which happens here weekly) - I will NOT call Ciao Bella. I am very close to downtown worcester and there are plenty of restaurants that will not only deliver but would be happy to have the business. A 10 minute conversation about dressing where the lady behind the counter says "Honey, look at the dressing" doesn't sit well with me. Does she really think I'd be looking at Caesar dressing and calling her just because? I wasn't even asking for my money back so there would be no point in me doing this - I just wanted the right dressing! When I told her that I would no longer order from there because of all of the trouble and her condescending attitude her said "Okay' - so I don't assume I will get a response from anyone from there. read more

3 rating as the food was decent (we had the pizza and the pita--pita w/cheese and sauce was delish!), but downgrade in rating for the service. We ordered delivery today (Thursday) at 11:53am and our food was not delivered until 1:42pm, which is almost a two hour delivery!!! That is completely unacceptable delivery time. Online it says approx. 1 hour, so my expectation is at most 1 hr 15 mins (which even that is a long time for delivery). Luckily the food was warm (not hot), but it was not cold which was good. read more

DONT ORDER DELIVERY SERVICE!!!! (Unless you don't want to eat your food for 2 hours!!!) I placed an on-line order which says orders will be processed immediately after they are submitted. This was at 6:40pm. The order was for 2 meatball subs and 2 bottles of soda. That's it. I waited over one hour before calling to "check" on my delivery. The girl I spoke with asked what the phone number was I placed the order under. After giving it to her, she pulled up order and said, "Ok I see its for 2 meatball subs and it was placed 1 hour and 5 mins ago. That order was just processed and just went out the door with the driver. It should be arriving momentarily." (That was at 7:45pm) It's now 8:21pm. No order. A few moments ago I received a call from Ciao Bella. It was a different woman. She did not know I called previously. She said, "Hi this is Ciao Bella. I'm just calling to let you know we are running behind on our deliveries. Your order is ready and as soon as one of our delivery drivers gets back to the store, your order will be going out next." I said, "Excuse me but I called over a half hour ago and another girl told me my order had already left?" She said, "well it wasn't me you spoke with. I'm just telling you that your order will be going out next" (she showed no sympathy, Did not apologize for getting lied to during the last call, and made no attempt to appease my concerns or disappointment) I said, "it's been over an hour and a half." She said, "yes. That's correct. My just called to let u know" (as if she was doing ME a favor) I can only imagine how those sandwiches will arrive when they finally do come. If my order was, indeed, made when I placed the order - at 6:40pm- then I'm certain the bread of the grinders will be complete mush after sitting there for hours. I realize they may be busy. However, don't offer delivery service if you can't keep up with the demands of the orders. And if in fact this is not typical of their delivery service ....then apologize for the poor service and offer something to customer! They did neither!!! (And I happen to know their delivery service is known to take a long time - all the time. But a 2 hour delivery wait for 2 grinders is completely UNACCEPTABLE. How disgusting. read more

This place has it all- except the atmosphere. Seriously.. great food, good prices and they deliver. The little sitting area could be much nicer. Did I mention BYOB? The food here is actually pretty decent for them. I've never really been too disappointed with my meal. I will say however that if I factored in their garlic bread to this rating it would drop down to a 1. The bread they hand out with their pasta dishes can almost break your teeth.
