Our family goes to Chuy's pretty regularly. The kids love it, especially when they have the Nacho Car available. The Margaritas are decent and the food is always hot and comes out quick. The prices are good as well. It's a solid, reliable choice for us when we feel like eating out. I've never felt compelled to write a review but we had some excellent service recently and it stepped the whole experience up a notch. We came in on New Year's Day for lunch and Zamyra took care of us. She was so friendly and thoughtful. The service is always nice, but she was excellent. I had an amazing experience all thanks to our server Craig. It was my family's first time here and they accommodated our party of 12 smoothly. We were seated outside so of course with Florida heat it can be dreadful but all thanks to the staff they were able to put tables and umbrellas together so sun didn't ruin our Easter lunch. The food was delicious. When we were seated we received some chips and salsa highly recommend the queso to add it was bomb! I got the carne guisada tacos which were 9.89 which was well worth the money. The tortilla's that come with the meal are made fresh and delicious. The Meal also comes with your choice of rice and beans I decided to get the Mexican style rice and refried beans. Comes with pico, lettuce, cheese and guacamole. I highly suggest you add sour cream on the side because it truly brings the tacos to pure perfection. Overall Craig's service was fast, kind and helpful! The other day my wife posted an article from the Orlando Weekly about where the best tacos are in the Orlando area. After looking at the places listed, we decided to check out Chuy's since we had been to them when we lived in Texas. When we arrived, we saw that they had the place decorated for Halloween. We were seated quickly and the seat we were given was right by the lady making the tortillas. Our server came over and took our drink order after providing us some chips and salsa. It was a Margarita for my wife and and unsweetened tea with lime for me. The chips were light and crispy with a nice flavor and that salsa is by far the best that has been served to me in Orlando thus far. Other than a little less cilantro, it is similar to how I make my own salsa. Well done. I asked to sample all of the signature sauces and our server was eager to bring us a sampling of them all. After working our way through all of the sauces, the Creamy Jalapeno was the clear winner in MY opinion. The others that stood our were the Hatch Green Chile and the Tomatillo. For dinner my wife ordered the Chicken and steak Fajita combo with Charro beans and Green Chile rice. I opted for the The Elvis Presley Memorial Combo. It consists of 3 enchiladas (Beef Tex-Mex, Cheese Ranchero and Chicken Tomatillo) with a sirloin taco with homemade tostada chips topped with Chile con queso. I chose to have the re-fried beans and rice with my meal. While waiting for our food, it was fun watching the tortillas being made. The Fajita meat was well seasoned and perfectly cooked and the peppers and onions were cooked just right. The Guacamole and and Pico de gallo were delicious. Add to that some fresh made tortillas and you have a GREAT Fajita. This was the the best Fajita I have had since leaving Texas. The Charro beans were just like we remember back in Texas and that green chile rice was delicious. According to her, that Margerita was spot on and a perfect compliment to her Fajitas. Elvis himself would be proud... The enchiladas were all done in the traditional Tex-Mex style. I personally prefer shredded beef but the ground beef they used is what you expect to find in Texas. That enchilada sauce was excellent. The Cheese enchilada reminded me of what was served at a mom n pop place I loved in Central Texas. The Chicken Tomatillo was my favorite. My only complaint was that the chunks of chicken were so big it made it touch to cut into bite size pieces. The taco was fantastic. An nice crispy shell and it did not fall apart when eating it. The tostadas with Chile con queso was a perfect match. The re-fried beans and rice were both good but I was so full I just could not finish my plate. Even my wife liked the re-fried beans and she is not a fan of re-fried beans. Service - 5 Atmosphere - 5 Authenticity - 5 Chips n salsa - 5 Sauce Sampler - 5 Fajitas - 5 Charro Beans - 5 Green Chile Rice - 5 Beef enchilada - 4 (I prefer shredded beef over ground beef) Cheese enchilada - 5 Chicken Tomatillo - 4 (chicken size made it hard to cut into bite size pieces) Taco - 5 Tostada - 5 Re-fried beans - 5 Mexican rice - 4 (just a tad dry) The manager came over to our table when we were sampling the sauces and when he heard we used to live in Texas he perked up and was a real pleasure to talk to. He let us know that there are plans for 2 more locations in the area in the near future. After our meal was over I asked our server to send him back over to the table because we wanted to let him know how much we enjoyed dinner. I jokingly said I would love to see the kitchen and he said no problem. Considering how busy it was I was surprised when he said that but he really took me on a tour of the kitchen. I felt like a kid in a candy store and I was really shocked at how clean it was because they were pretty full at the time. After the tour I took a stroll thru the place to snap off a few pictures to include in my review. If you are looking for Tex-Mex and NOT Authentic Mexicn food, you will love this place. So this was my first time visiting a Chuy's establishment and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! Plenty of seating inside and outside, it was so nice out we sat outside on their patio. Their complementary chips and salsa was quite fresh and yummy! I ordered their chicken fajitas salad which was quite tasty. The chicken was seasoned right and the portion size was rather filling! I love when I get to have leftovers :) Something you absolutely MUST try is their tres leches cake. It's huge!!! My girlfriend and I shared it and we couldn't stop eating it. Sorry Chuy's. Our most recent experience really put a bad taste in our mouth. Granted, it was a Saturday evening and busy but there were many tables that cleared out after we were seated. We chalk it up to a server that doesn't know how to prioritize. First up, we were brought chips and salsa. The chips were the basically the broken end pieces that you would see at the bottom of a chip bag with a few large pieces on the top to fool us. Completely unacceptable. Took them quite awhile to even bring glasses of water to us which sucks because that salsa has a kick. Not so much fun eating with nothing to quench your thirst. Our server finally had the sense to come let us know they were frying a new batch of chips and would bring some to us when they were ready. So he brings them out and we're happy. We run low and then , OF COURSE, our order of guacamole came out. So we had to keep playing this cat and mouse game of getting his attention for chips. He would acknowledge us then help a neighboring table, then walk past us, then back to a different table. Seriously?! I made a joke that he must've been trying to get his fitbit steps because he was walking all over the place but near our table. Anyways we got our chips but at that point our entrees were brought out by a runner. We asked the runner guy for silverware and he nodded like he would bring some to us. He NEVER did. So, again, it was another cat and mouse game of finding our server for utensils before our food got cold ( it was lukewarm by the time I took a bite). And, on top of that, my husband's order was incorrect. He had requested a certain sauce on top of his burrito. (This was all taken with the server's memory since he didn't think to write anything down.) The sauce was missing so when he asked our server why, he responded with some excuse that they don't put the sauce on top because it's cold. HUHH?! Well, if that was the case, let us know or at least put it on the side! For a $50 dinner (with tip- yep we aren't totally heartless) we feel a bit swindled. Food quality was meh this go around and the lackluster service was just icing on the cake. Hoping this was a one time encounter but I would recommend steering clear on weekends and come on a weeknight when servers don't have to manage more than 2 tables. Earlier in the year, we missed our chance for Cinco de Mayo; but, since we do not drinking too much, we managed lunch the following day instead while running errands. My wife ordered the crispy taco platter and I had the stacked enchiladas. Her three tacos were terrific. The hand-made tortillas are fried; and, stuffed with tasty meat, cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo. However, the sauce on my enchiladas had too much citrus.. it was simply cloying. I added some of the hatch chile salsa verde (hoping to spice it up;) and. that was much better. Our server was terrific; very attentive; and, accommodating. I'm not really one to get excited about food establishments that are near the airport, but it was a Sunday and I was tired and hungry after a long flight. I've never heard of Chuy's before but its Yelp rating was good so we decided to try it out. This is a large restaurant and we didn't wait at all, which was nice. Their salsa is terrific and they make all their corn and flour tortillas fresh at the front of the restaurant. Fresh tortillas are the best! Our server was incredible. She took time to tell us about the menu and their sauces (all of them are free, just ask for some) and even let us know that they made all their food completely fresh. Nothing was packaged or microwaved. Their food was pretty good and their sangria was also excellent. I am looking forward to my next flight so I can come home and visit this place again! read more

4.5 stars for Chuy's. We had a really great lunch but I'm on the fence about giving them five stars so I'll g conservative and go with the four. First, we got there right as they opened (11am on a Sunday) and were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant is fairly new so is nice and clean. It is bright and airy with loud colors typical of this type of restaurant. Service was great, especially at first. We were brought fresh chips and salsa that was too spicy for my taste. Luckily my friend had eaten here before and knew to ask for the creamy jalapeno white sauce... Wow, that sauce is a MUST! Surprisingly it was not as spicy as the salsa and was wonderfully garlicky. I went with the chicken burrito ("Big as yo' face") with oven roasted chicken. For only $10 it was indeed very large (two meals worth when cut in half) and came with a side of Mexican rice and lettuce/tomato. There were large chunks of tender chicken throughout my burrito. I got the two mild sauces on the side (there are many to choose from). Although I tried them both, and they were OK, I ended up using the creamy jalapeno sauce. It was so flavorful that a little went a long way. Somewhere toward the end of our meal our server disappeared for 15 minutes or so. It wasn't a big deal as we were catching up anyway. By the time we left the place had quite filled up. We were thanked again on our way out and I noticed employees making fresh tortillas through the glass of the kitchen. I'm excited to have a new, delicious restaurant near the airport and can see myself coming back here time after time. Next time I'm going to splurge for that tres leches cake! read more

*Cue uncontrollable salivation* This is Mexican food done right. Massive, heaping plates, strong flavors, and an unending stream if things to eat from the moment you sit down. There's also a fine atmosphere here; kind of genuine Mexican, kind of urban America. At this point I note that this place is a chain, which isn't always bad. Chuy's completely avoids the shitty aspects of chains like Olive Garden while evidently benefiting from the advantages. For instance, you get a lot for the price. A lot. The plates are massive and beautiful. I recommend with the entire force of my voice the Comida Deluxe. This dish gets you a big enchilada, two flautas, rice, beans, a taco, and an assortment of salad, guac, and salsa. All that for around $12. The flavor, appearance, and volume were exceptional. I can't recommend it enough. With a dish as good as Comida Deluxe, pretty much nothing could impact the 5 star rating. Well done. read more

My sister Alonso worked there but in Texas and she only said good things as well. We were all pleasantly surprised. We everything we ordered was delicious. We orders #1 & #6 combination plates.y kids ordered the crispy tacos kids plates. It came with 3 mini (but good size) crispy tacos and nice serving of rice and beans. Enchiladas tasted like home, tacos were great, chicken chalupa was perfect. And the chips and fresh salsa was amazing. Margaritas were great as well just needed a little more alcohol. After visiting here many times this past year I felt the need to update my review. Unfortunately it's not a good one. Let me start with the service. It's terrible at best. I'm a single business traveler and stop here before the airport often. I always feel like it's an inconvenience for them to seat me, wait on me and serve me. Today's server Sherry was the worst yet. Slow, slow, slow. The food is average ate best. The chips (which are my favorite at Chuys in TX) more often than not are very oily. The flour tortillas are the worst I've ever had. And consistently bad. They need to quality check the food. As a long time lover of this chain for years, I'm very disappointed that n this location. read more

I've been to Chuy's twice now and I'm in love. I always forget that this exists, but how can I now that I've fallen in love with their delicious creamy ranch dipping sauce!? They bring out chips and salsa, but they won't bring out the ranch sauce unless you ask for it! I think my mother and law and I had about 5 servings of that alone. It's just so heavenly. For my main dish I got the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and it's soooo YUM! It's very hot and spicy but I love it that way, so if you can take a little heat, then this is for you! A friend invited me out to eat at Chuy's recently. When I came back to Yelp to read what others said about this place, I felt that awful feeling. You know which one I'm talking about. That feeling you get in your stomach when you're seeing a bunch of rave reviews, but you thought the place was ok at best, and you don't want to be "that guy" raining on the parade. But such is the life of a Yelper, and as much as I hate to do this, I'm going to be "that guy" for now. Chuy's isn't bad. It's perfectly serviceable Tex-Mex food. But it's not great. The decor of the place is a little weird because they have as much pop culture decorations as they do Mexican themed ones. Not that that's bad, but if you're looking for authentic experience, Chuy's isn't that. The chips and salsa are alright. The staff is really on the ball about refilling your chips and salsa which I can't say the same for too many other Mexican restaurants, so that earns a thumbs up. As for the main dishes, we split some nachos as an appetizer, and I had an enchilada, taco, and chalupa for dinner. Again, the food isn't bad, but it doesn't really stand out on its own. I feel like I could get a similar meal with similar flavors over at Tijuana Flats for a few bucks less. If you're around the airport area, and you're craving some Mexican food, you do worse than Chuy's. It's good, but it's also....I guess typical is the best word I can use here. I doubt I'd drive all the way over there for another dinner unless I was already in the area for something. I'll give them this. They run like heck with the pun of their name. Chuy's, pronounced Chewies, goes full on with the Star Wars pun and they have a ton of Star Wars themed merchandise and wall decorations. Upon entering Chuy's, the hostess greats you with a smile. Depending on the time of day you should be seated immediately. We received Chips and Salsa, which was great. The Chips were warm and the Salsa was fresh. Our food arrived hot and prepared as requested. The restaurant makes the Tortilla shells in in the restaurant and will refill the chip basket. Wow, great service and atmosphere! It was so nice to sit in a dining area completely separate from the bar with no TV screens to contend with. The food was equally enjoyable. I had a combo platter with a beef taco, cheese enchiladas and chicken flautas. The pulled chicken in the flautas was particularly spectacular, very fresh and juicy. The enchiladas were yummorific as was the taco. The beans and rice sides were pretty standard but decent. Another standout was the tortillas, all of which were outstanding, super fresh and crisp. My darling wife had the chicken enchiladas platter, and her dish was also outstanding. The sauces were great too, and the server brought us samples of all but the spiciest to taste test. This really is s great tex mex place! They even have some very cool Star Wars, and other pop culture sci-fi themed, t-shirts for sale in the lobby. This place is pretty solid for broad appeal, standard Americanized chain Mexican food. My husband and I visited here with a group of friends with young kids, and they offered great food options for the kids and the decor and atmosphere was entertaining for the young ones. The chips and salsa were decent, but free, which we loved. Nothing special about the salsa, nothing I would crave after my meal there, but I ate it all because, well, free chips and salsa. My husband and I split the fajitas for two--steak and shrimp. Once again, very standard Mexican. The portion size was decent, the steak had a bit of kick, and they included guacamole and sour cream for free. The biggest downside to this place was the pricing. Maybe the location next to the airport makes it more expensive, but almost $40 spent (including tip) on just the fajitas was rather steep. Would prefer more authentic, cheaper Mexican from some hole in the wall places. read more

First off when we arrived the place was nearly packed to the brim, regardless of this we were escorted by a hostess to a private booth almost as soon as we walked in, the waiter was prompt friendly and seemed to be able to answer any question we shot at him, so we decided to let him pick our food, he recommended the fajitas for two which I have to admit we're a smash hit. I always come to the same conclusion, food and service is okay, nothing special about it, this last visit, they seem understaffed, at least where I was seating, poor girl had like 6-7 tables all by herself and she was running around like crazy, nobody seem to care to give her a hand, didn't see any managers around either, so service was slow. maybe I'll skip 2017 ;D read more

Why 5 Stars? Cuz we loved it that much! The Semoran location is under a month old and we hear they are looking at space around Waterford Lakes. Now why we loved it so much...Fresh,Fresh,Fresh. The salsa is not from a jar and you can definitely taste the veggies. Though mild at first after a few bites you'll feel the heat. My Only dislike is the paper thin chips which will crack n crumble with every dip into your salsa. Arturo was our server and was the Best! Super attentive but not rushy. Drinks filled, questions/recommendations taken care of. He even suggested that go EZ on the chips because the portions are ridiculous and he did not disappoint. Horrible, and I'm a fan of Chuy's. Ordered through Door Dash. Food was warm and packaged well so this isn't a complaint on delivery, it's a complaint on quality. Boom boom enchiladas were literally bland boiled chicken wrapped in tortillas and smothered with sauce (usually good enough but it was so bad it couldn't make up for it). That's it. A child could make better food. Choked it down (dry, bland food and all) because I was hungry and wanted to go to bed. You should be embarrassed. Terrible. read more
