The quirky portraits, the vibrant paint, the whole eccentric vibe? Chef's kiss. You guys nailed the look. But then... the music starts. Common man! How am I supposed to peacefully enjoy a burrito, some enchiladas con chile verde, or unas flautas picantes when "Wrecking Ball" is blasting so loud my salsa is practically vibrating off the plate? And it's not even good sound quality! It literally sounds like it's being pumped through a tin can hooked up to a cheap, blown-out PA system. My spouse and I practically had to use sign language just to ask each other to pass the salt. I'm eating Tex-Mex, not raving at a downtown club! I half-expected the waiter to bring me a Blue Hawaii instead of a margarita. Here's a free business tip from a loyal regular: a great atmosphere is a magnet for customers. When the vibe is right, people linger, order extra queso, and bring their friends. When the soundtrack sounds like a middle school dance, people chew at the speed of light and flee for the exits. Good vibes keep wallets open; a deafening, tinny pop playlist drives regulars away! Look, I get it. Maybe you're trying to avoid the whole "American cultural appropriation" thing by not playing mariachi music. Fine! But if you're not playing mariachis, at least put on some country music! Unfortunately our latest visit here was disappointing, we arrived mid-day and were quite surprised to see the parking mostly empty as well as the interior of the restaurant. The hostess was friendly and immediately sat us in the bar with the rest of the customers having lunch. We were greeted by our server that seemed to have the entire room to herself, she was cordial but did seem to be somewhat distracted or maybe just focused on juggling all the task with little to no help. The menu has shrunk over time meaning the selection is very limited compared to what I remember and the quality has definitely declined in my opinion. This is the restaurant I used to measure all other Mexican Restaurants at one point but those days are long past. I found the food to be very disappointing I highly recommend you stay away from the crunchy tacos unless you want to eat them like a salad they literally fell apart as soon as I picked them up. The entire experience seemed foreign to what once was so they earned an updated review sadly. I haven't been to a Chuy's outside of Texas, and it has been a while since I've eaten at one at all. The chain is a Lone Star legend, and this location did not disappoint. The jalapeño ranch dressing served with the tortilla chips was delicious, but there was also a salsa option. I enjoyed the creamy green chile chicken enchiladas. Two were plenty to fill me up, and they were also excellent. It was hot and fresh with the right amount of spice. I love blackberries so I couldn't resist the blackberry margarita. The restaurant was not crowded on a Monday night, but the food and drinks were served quickly. The only complaint was that my friend said that his taco bowl was lukewarm and not hot. I like the simple, country-style decor, but what really caught my eye was the Elvis shrine in the foyer. read more

The ambience is OK for a chain type restaurant and the bathrooms were reasonably clean. The only thing that I would have appreciated is that the paper towels in the women's bathroom were filled and not empty so you could dry your hands. The server we had on this visit was very nice and accommodating. The steak served for the fajitas was very undercooked and it was not cut into strips (it was just a big slab) so we sent it back in. They served it correctly the second time. Overall this is a typical TexMex place that is good. What we enjoy are the various side sauces you can order, along with tortillas. I love me some Tex-mex and enjoyed this delicious lunch. Came here with a friend and we both enjoyed our meal. I had the appetizer sampler which had fajita quesadillas, tostadas, and flautas with queso, sour cream, and guac. I also loved the chips, salsa, and dip they put on the table when we got there. We went to celebrate our 22nd for lunch. Chips were good. Service was good. Elvis is now king. Darden screws up yet another restaurant chain. We ordered a Tres leches. It came out with a quarter inch base of hard rock like it had a crust and about 2 inches of wet batter look like pudding. Told the waitress she didn't know what to think. Did she call a manager? No did a manager come by? No they don't give a F. I don't give a good review either. Chuy's in Noblesville Indiana was amazing every single time. How can you serve uncooked cake? What kind of people are working in the kitchen assembling orders? I just can't even believe it. In Orlando, we don't have to go to chains there are plenty of restaurants here where you won't get raw product. Happy 22nd to us. We're going out tonight to a Real restaurant. 12:30 PM on a Friday. Its been 3 years since I've been to a Chuy's. I discovered this chain of restaurants while I was living in Nashville. Great food and environment. So I move to Orlando and the Chuy's on I-Drive became one of my favorites, especially when family was in town visiting. Same great experience as Nashville, if not better. Then came covid and everything changed. I haven't been to one of these restaurants since 2021. So it was definitely time to go back. I was in a hurry, so I ordered to go the Elvis Presley special and an Enchiladas plate. I get home, open the containers and there was nothing but disappointment. The quality of the food and the portion size have gone downhill. I mean, maybe it was a bad day or something like that, but the food was bland, there was barely chicken or steak inside those enchiladas. And of course, the prices went up. Maybe I'll have a different experience if I go back and dine in. I don't know. But I definitely won't order delivery or takeout. We haven't been to Chuy's in several years. On our first visit my husband and I shared appetizer sampler. It's was the best. Queso was delicious and did not taste like i was at the movies. The flautas were crispy with plenty of filling. The nachos come with refried beans that are the best tasting I've had in ages and they were creamy. It also comes with small quesadillas that has a heaping of filling and we're so cheesy. We went again for my son's birthday where we again enjoyed the sampler app. My husband and son ordered the Elvis which they both loved. My history didn't realize it came with a taco also until we were packing up & he asked if I wanted my taco. The nachos were huge. Can't wait to go again. read more

It's been years since I visited this location. I couldn't remember if I liked it or not but saw a reel of someone eating their tacos with the jalapeño cream sauce. It looked so good that my family and I decided to try it again. The line to see the hostess was long because she wasn't at the check-in desk but once she arrived, the line quickly went down. Our server was nice and was attentive on refilling our chips. The food took awhile to come to the table which I was surprised about since the restaurant wasn't that busy (at least it looked empty in the main room we were in). My mom ordered the appetizer plate as her meal, my dad the beef fajitas, and I had the crispy tacos. My tacos were COLD. Like I was genuinely surprised with how cold they were. Luckily it was crispy and not stale but it's literally just a hard shell taco. When I think of crispy tacos I think of the ones from TacoBell. I was so hungry that I didn't return it but after finishing 1 of the 3 tacos, I couldn't force myself to eat anymore. My mom's plate was barely warm and the only thing that seemed to arrive hot to the table were the fajitas because you could hear the sizzle on the plate (as you should with fajitas). However, the steak was very tough and chewy. The restaurant itself was relatively clean. We didn't use the bathrooms or anything but the tables were wiped down and the leather chairs weren't ripped up or anything which is good. Overall, the food tasted so bland, was served cold, and just was not impressive enough to be worth the price. It is the definition of Mid for my fellow Gen Zs. I would not return again. read more

I stopped in for late lunch on Saturday while waiting to check into my hotel near the Orlando international airport. I love Mexican food and this was conveniently located right next to all the airport hotels. I was looking for reposado tequila and was impressed to find the Grand Ma's Rockin' 'Rita comes with it plus a float of Grand Marnier, even more bonus points! The margarita was delicious and made so I was happy to order it twice. Then I also ordered the appetizer plate which comes with planchas, quesadillas, and flautas. It also came with guacamole and sour cream which were both good quality. My favorite sauces were the queso and the green sauce. The queso is so yummy and great warm. The green sauce reminds me of the traditional cilantro garlic sauce served with empanadas and it's sooo good on everything in this dish. The portions are hefty and I had enough leftover to eat another 3 times so it's well worth the price. The bartender was very friendly and even helped me put a to go order in with perfect timing to receive as soon as I was ready to leave. I ordered the roasted chicken burrito for my boyfriend and he ate it all in one sitting when I returned back to our hotel. Safe to say you can't go wrong ordering their tex mex dishes! I also forgot my to-go drink and she brought it out for me at the front entrance, thank goodness for her! I was super impressed with literately everything about this restaurant! It seems like a family restaurant and I was later so surprised to know that its a chain. The service is on point, the price is good, the setting is amazing, lots of seating. I came here three times in two days because it is next to our hotel! First time I got the bean and cheese burrito, it was huge and came with their fresh chips! All sauces were delicious. Second order was in the restaurant and I grabbed the quesadillas which was cooked perfectly! Third order was the chicken enchiladas which had the same refried beans as the first order. I just love Chuy's! Having lived in Texas for 4 years, it's impossible not to know about this national gem. Although this Chuy's location is nowhere on the level of the ones in Texas, it still had a pleasant charm of its own. There is so much to love about this place....the decor, the ambiance, the vibe, the colors, the classic car photos, the food, and the service. It's a recipe for greatness. We ordered a Raspberry Margarita that was really sour but tasty. We also ordered the ChuyChanga and the soft chicken tacos. Both came with Mexican rice and refried beans. As always, everything was very good. Usually, when I go to Mexican restaurants, the rice and refried beans are an afterthought, just something to fill up the plate and charge you more. Not here! The Mexican rice and refried beans can easily be the star of the show because they are really good. I almost forget to mention the complimentary crispy & fresh tortilla chips that are made on site, served with their tomatillo sauce and fresh salsa. Both are watery, but still flavorful. A green Verde, a jalapeño cream, and a red salsa. The only one that was not so tasty was the green Verde. I could've eaten the jalapeño cream salsa all day long, it was that yummy. I chose the Chuychanga. The filling was absolutely delicious. I have a feeling that it might've sat under the warming light for quite some time, because the flour tortilla shell was extremely tough. So tough that I could barely cut it with a knife. That being said, the tasty filling made up for that! Beans were an exciting and the Spanish rice was just OK. Since I was by myself, I didn't try a margarita, so I don't have any thoughts on their cocktails. It was ok. The chips and salsa was good. Parking is great but getting there from south west orlando was very confusing to navigate all the different ramps to transition from the 528 to the beech line because the Google GPS turn directions did not match the ramp turn directions. So if you are going there from SW orlando, give yourself an extra fifteen minute for getting lost and being in that standstill airport traffic. read more

First visit finding this spot for lunch on YELP. Walked in to a decorated tropical/elvis/historic flare with palm trees , hubcaps on the ceiling in one area and round tables and booths divided by colorful stained glass. Our server welcomed us in and went over the menu sorry forgot his name. We had chips and salsa had to ask for more the chip were thin, crisp and fresh loved it and salsa it was good. Haven't been here in a while since they closed the one near us. Well worth the drive! The chips they give you were light and not overly seasoned, came with fresh salsa. I got the King memorial feast and it was a feast. So much food it came out on two plates. The food was seasoned just right not too spicy nor salty ( that is a problem at many places). Our server Alexis B was great, answered all of our questions about the menu and drinks. She checked in frequently and kept our drinks (and salsa) full. If you've read my other reviews, you know I am a Chuy's fan! Every time we are near one we get excited and plan either lunch or dinner there. This time we went with some first timers and after telling them how amazing the food is, we were hoping they loved it too. And they did! So we stared by asking our server to set some high tables to fit our group. The fit was a bit tight, could probably have used an extra table, but we were grateful they set that up for us. Drinks were brought out and as usual their chips and sauces. Salsa and the Creamy Jalapeño are the ones they usually bring out (on the house), and we ordered the queso, hatch green chile, chili, and some other ones. Not all are free so check the menu but the price is reasonable and totally worth it. Food came out and, as we expected, our friends loved it! They kept saying how they needed to come back and try other locations too. They had the crispy tacos, and the Boom Boom Enchiladas. Now, for me, since I've been to other locations and can compare, I had to take one star off this one. I had the Deluxe Enchilada and it lacked flavor. The rice and beans were perfect but the enchilada needed seasoning. Thankfully the sauces on the table saved it and I was able to bring it up to perfection. The other reason I took a star off is that we never got offered refills on water or drinks. We had some empty water glasses before the food was served and it was never refilled.
