TablesIde guacamole
Savone J.

Popped in on an early Saturday afternoon. We were sat immediately which was great and they allowed us to sit outside since the weather was so nice. Once sat our server took our drink orders (club soda and their speciality non alcoholic watermelon drink). We ordered the table side guac along with our drinks and didn't receive the watermelon drink until after the guac was made (15minutes later). The only reason why it was so noticeable was due to the lack of flavor from the guacamole. Truly one of the worst table side guac I've ever had. Not even salt could save it. Order the honey glazed salmon and that was good. The salmon was slightly overcooked but it was still full of flavor along with the rice. Our entrees took awhile to come out and you can tell they sat under a heat lamp or hot box for awhile because my friend ordered the other fish dish with garlic butter crab on top and the and it was super dry. Honestly from the lack of communication and service from our server to the overall food, it left a lot to be desired. Wouldn't come back anytime soon or recommend.

So I popped into this restaurant with my brother to use the bathroom. I tried to order a drink, before using the bathroom. The bartender was taking too long so I just went. Came back still tried to order a drink since most restaurants policy's are bathrooms are for paying customers. Eventually we were able to grab a drink and my cousin showed up at this point. We decided to grab dinner there and this is where things took a turn for the positive. There were a group of guys across the bar from us and their food looked amazing. We asked what they see eating and they offered to order for us, which we said yes too. The food came out and it was amazing. My bacon wrapped shrimp was delicious and my cousin's steak was phenomenal. My brother enjoyed his salmon as well. Of they ordered is a butter dipping sauce that made everything even better. As if they weren't nice enough to begin with, they offered us their ribs try and they were tender and amazing as well. This was an epic night. We thanked them and their friend who took our order and couldn't stop talking about how random good things can happen out of nowhere.

Sangria
Donny F.

Very nice place and location. The food unfortunately was average. The salsa was watery and had very little flavor. The carnitas fajitas were good. Not great. Have had much better. It's pricey for average Mexican food that should be elevated with the prices they are charging. Had the sangria and it was good. Place was pretty empty for dinner on a Tuesday on I drive and I kind of get it. I feel Like you have better options.

Chocolate pinata

We made a lunch reservation online with Resy on the restaurant Google page. We arrived early and they were able to accommodate us. I believe at lunchtime they are less busy. We got the table side guacamole and it was delicious. We were able to customize what we wanted in the guacamole to our spicy level. I got the swirl margarita and it was a normal size which I wanted. We ordered the cheese quesadilla for the kids meal. They accidentally brought us the chicken tenders kids meal but let us have the wrong order free. They then brought us the correct kids meal we ordered. I saved my appetite for the chocolate pinata which I've wanted to try for years. The chocolate pinata didn't disappoint. My son got a wooden bat and he was ready to swing it on the pinata. It was a fun food experience! He broke the pinata and we ate it. It had strawberries, pineapple and churros inside. There was chocolate syrup and whip cream to dip into. My only complaint was that I wished the strawberries had the green top removed. Also the prices were a little high but it is Orlando tourist prices and normal for places on International drive. The service was good and we had a fun time. I would come back again.

Fish tacos

Uncle Julio's is located at Icon Park and is easily accessible. The ambiance is pleasant, and the staff are friendly. There was a live mariachi band playing outside the restaurant, and they also made their way inside, entertaining guests throughout the establishment. Although it was late and we were tired, we received good service and enjoyed our drinks. The food was just okay; it's more Tex-Mex, so it met expectations. I ordered fish tacos, which were well-seasoned but still just average. This is a great place to visit with a large group, as well as for couples or individuals. I recommend checking it out!

Fajitas

Food was great. Service was good. And the presentation was top notch. Would definitely recommend for a getaway to Mexico while on international drive.

We used the complimentary valet for Icon Park. The restaurant was really close to the valet drop off. Service was excellent. A different server brought us our food. We noticed we were missing black beans that came with our order when he left...next thing we know our server came with the black beans. He said when he passed our table he noticed it was missing. Didn't even realize he passed our table. Food overall was good. The only thing is that the portions were small considering the price point.

Margarita

Family friendly Mexican restaurant in Icon park. It was a little pricey but reasonable for the location. Wait staff was friendly and willing to honestly answer questions about the menu. I had 2 steak tacos with rice and black beans. The black beans had excellent flavor. I also had a margarita which was good.

Fajitas

I have mixed feeling about this restaurant. It's in a great fun location for families or a date. There is a large garage parking lot or valet. We stoped here on a Tuesday night for a birthday celebration. Not planned, no reservations. They had a mariachi playing and the Mexican themed decor is nice. We started with a house margarita on the rocks with salt. Nicely mixed, would order again. For the main dish, we shared the fajitas. The dish was ok. It lacked flavor and it was more of a Texmex style, which I don't love. This is where the 3 stars comes from. I give the ambience, drinks and staff 4 stars. I will be back only for drinks and the good music.

Tuesday special maybe just lunch not sure...If one person does the $12 all this is included about 10 tacos can be made easily.
Crysty M.

I thought this place was going to be another expensive Mexican restaurant but during the week they have an awesome deal especially on Tuesday. They have a share option for $12 a person and honestly 3 ppl could have ate from what they gave us for 2 ppl and wow it was good. Wished they would have had a few limes to the wheel but beside that the waitress was good she refilled drinks and came by often. It was early lunch and not packed but good. The place looks nice and looks pricy but definitely a place I would go again if I'm in the mood for Mexican food. My drink was also good and loved how smooth it taste.

Chicken and steak taco salads

While a short visit to Orlando we wanted to go to Gorden Ramsey Fish and Chips but just didn't like th lack of seating so we noticed Uncle Julio's. We got seated right away since it was past lunchtime, no waiting around. Ms. Sierra provided excellent, friendly, and professional service. My wife and I both enjoyed our taco salads; she had the chicken and I had the steak. Pretty good for a first try here at Uncle Julio's.

Picodilla tacos, was supposed to come with rice and beans. No beans

The food is absolutely garbage. Honestly I should have went to Taco Bell. -11/10 Not real Mexican food at ALL YUCK

Margarita flight
Christopher M.

The margarita flights were good, but definitely looked better than they tasted. I also had the American tacos which were good. What brought us to the restaurant was the chocolate piñata, naturally the kids thought it was cool. The service was pretty slow and inattentive and kind of expensive for what they serve. Clearly tourist pricing.

Are they serving the chocolate pinatas again? I heard they stopped serving it but I really want to try the chocolate piñata.

No. I went recently and they were still not serving the chocolate piñatas or doing the table side guacamole.

Is this place gay friendly?

Didn't notice any issues. They were very friendly to everyone.. I even saw them give a plate of guacamole and chips to a homeless man.

Although a little different in decor, every Chuy's has the hand painted swimming fish, the hubcap ceiling, and the shrine to Elvis which was a fixture of the original store. I had a great first Chuy's experience with my girlfriend Holly in Pembroke Pines. On a recent trip to visit my daughter in Winter Park we passed Chuy's in Lakeside Crossing and remembering how much I liked it, I suggested we dine here for dinner. In addition to the multiple dining rooms, they also have outside patio seating. We were seated in my favorite room, the dog one. If you bring in a picture of your pup you can get a free appetizer so the walls are covered with pictures of people's dogs. This room also worked out best for us because it had two TV's and we could watch the Super Bowl. We started off with their complimentary chips that come with a spicy salsa fresca and a Chuy's signature item, creamy jalapeño dressing. It started out as a dressing and it is now a dip with a following. You can even purchase it to take home with you. Two dips can never be enough so we also ordered the queso that is a beloved menu item for good reason. The menu has a number of Tex-Mex favorites like burritos, tacos, and fajitas. Chuy's is especially known for their large portions. They also make all of their own tortillas and sauces. You can customize how spicy you want your food by pepper choice and sauce. I ordered my favorite steak burrito with double rice, no beans. I replaced the spicy hatch chili sauce with the creamy deluxe tomatillo recommended by our server. It was chef's kiss. My daughter and her boyfriend said they really liked their food too and with the large portion size, ended up having leftovers to take home with them. I love the quirky decor, value, and tasty food. We were in the mood for filling meal with a casual vibe and Chuy's hit the spot.

I had my thoughts on the frozen raspberry margarita that I had the time before that was so delicious but unfortunately they did not have that flavor this time. I got the strawberry and lime frozen margaritas swirled together with a sugar rim. The margarita was pretty good. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. For an entree, I ordered the chicken flautas. This comes with rice and refried beans. When served, the entree came with 6 flautas which to me seemed like a decent portion. I was very disappointed though because there was barely any meat inside each one and I swear there was no cheese. Which cheese makes the dish. They were extremely dry and I only ate like 2. The rice and beans made up for the dish. I appreciate the salsa and chips that get brought out to each table.

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

Being that I was in the area, I figured let's give this spot a try. Lo and behold, El Pueblo was only six minutes down the road! There was a 20 minute wait, but I was greeted kindly by the staff, and when I walked in you could tell this place was super authentic. The decor was super vibrant and music was bumping. They do not have alcohol, but they have coronas and a margarita type glass premixed for purchase. That held us over for the time being. The chips and salsa were phenomenal. The salsa had some type of sweet pepper flavor to it and you could tell it was homemade. My friend got three tacos with rice and beans and I got the flautas you were able to choose your own meat, which was really cool no extra charge.
