Wait for food to come was about an hour. My daughter's kids meal showed up first and it was not what we ordered. The our meal came and it was also incorrect. The server informed us the meal we did receive was a "premium meal" and much better than what we ordered. WTF?! Spoke with the manager and she was dismissive but did take the entree off the tab. Service was slow, food was cold. Will not return. read more

Great place, great drinks, great food, very clean and the service is great. Carlos is the best waiter in Orlando.

This restaurant was big and nice located on international drive. There were so many things to do around this restaurant which is great. The staff was nice but service was slow. The food however was basic. I got chicken tacos and there wasn't anything special to them. Had one beef taco and blah. I also order the barria tacos & those were good. After a long day at Disney, we needed a place for dinner where we could sit down. This place seated us right away. They give you chips and two kinds of salsa. I preferred the spicy salsa. We also got the queso blanco (small), which was more than enough for us. My sister and I split the quesabirria, and we got a side of rice. It was plenty for the two of us and delicious! We also got some of the frozen margaritas, which were quite tasty. I saw that there is a Durham location closer to where I live, so I will have to go to that one! read more

Uncle Julio's used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant in Orlando until this last visit yesterday. Apparently they have made lots of changes to the menu removing some staple food items. They removed Chile con Queso from the menu and replaced it with Queso Blanco. Uncle Julio's was the only restaurant in town with proper Queso, now they are just like every other Mexican restaurant in town. Queso Blanco is bland and has a much different consistency that the proper yellowish orange Chili con Queso. Additionally, my Mom has a few staples that she likes to order at proper Mexican restaurants and she wanted a Chile Relleno. Well, this also was not an option. They talked her into ordering what they say was similar which turned out to be what appeared to be a small chili chimichanga, supposedly with cheese sauce but it was just melted shredded cheese on top. Not at all close to what she wanted. Another family member ordered chicken and steak fajitas and the chicken had skin on it. I've never ever seen chicken fajitas with the skin on it. One member of our party wanted to order vegetable fajitas (grilled vegetables) and was told that they don't have that anymore too. How hard is it to grill some vegetables up? Uncle Julio's is where we go when we want great Mexican food and when we are celebrating something like we were yesterday. This restaurant is an hour from our house with traffic which hasn't been a problem to get great food that we love...with these changes in the menu and removal of our favorite items unique to Uncle Julio's in Orlando, I don't know if we need to make that drive through heavy traffic to experience. This makes us sad. read more

Where to begin. So we had a reservation for 9:30pm. We arrived on time waited about 2-3minutes to be acknowledged and seated. Ambiance and decor were nice. We were given menus and downloaded the app for the free Large Guacamole. It arrived with chips, the guacamole and some water down salsa (First red flag). The guacamole had needed salt and that salsa was literally red water. We didn't see our waiter again for what had to be 35 minutes. The picture guy walking around was more attentive than "Carlos." Mind you he passed our table at least 40 times never stopped and asked us anything. Finally he took our order. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks... that's were watered down. Frozen swirled drinks. There was no frozen and our drinks tasted like syrup water. Our food party of four was tastes less and took an hour to get to us. We had to ask other waitresses and waiters to bring us items that "Carlos" didn't bring. "Carlos" seemed to take care of every other table beside ours. "Carlos" took made the experience terrible. I wish I could give zero stars.... Food was a mid 3 at best.... read more

My friend Matt and I came here for dinner. I had a gift card with "" $75. I asked the bartender if she could check it and she said the gift card had zero dollars on it. And I told her I got it last year I haven't been here since and she said the manager that gave it to you probably didn't put any money on it- she asked me who I spoke to I told her the gentleman and she was like oh he doesn't work here anymore so we can't help you. So my friend Matt and I ordered a Cadillac margarita and a regular margarita. The Cadillac margarita I had was very yummy we also got food we got two sides of Mexican rice, a side of cilantro rice and a side of baked beans. We then waited approximately 45 minutes for our food and we were told by another bartender that our food order wasn't even put in the system. I will not be returning to uncle Julio's. I have no idea why our bartender/server stood at the POS system and didn't put our food and I feel like that was very rude and then made us wait 45 minutes for our rice and beans. We just got the check for our margaritas and we left. 2/10 read more

I stopped in Sunday night without a reservation at first the hostess seem irritated that I didn't have a reservation, and since I was dining alone, wanted to put me at the bar. I hate eating at the bar and said I would prefer a table and again she seemed a little flustered by that, but did eventually seat me out a table. I ordered the enchilada combo with the cheese and onion and ground beef enchilada and asked for their mild sauce. The sauce seemed to overpower the flavor of everything else in the enchilada. I really couldn't taste the cheese or the ground beef. I could see it there, but couldn't really taste it however, the enchiladas were hot and fresh . The beans however, came like they were had been pre-served earlier in the evening and I've been sitting in under a heat lamp as they were only lukewarm. I thought the price was reasonable read more

Went in on a Saturday night got to the front and were quickly sat. We opted for patio seating which was really nice Service: our server was nice and so was the host. We didn't wait long to be greeted and they listened to any concerns we had and took care of them Food: I got a shrimp fajita and my husband got tacos. The shrimp fajitas were super flavorful. The flour shells were so soft and they tasted fresh. My husband left nothing on his plate so we'll say he enjoyed it as well. We took churros to go and they weren't great they tasted burnt but they're good sizes and a good amount were provided. Drinks: now this is where I say they fell of for 5 stars. My husband got a bottled beer which was flat ( the server took it off our check when we mentioned it) I got the Cadillac and it was just super sour. I didn't like it so then I ordered a make your own margarita ( tequila, contreiu and lime over ice) well they took the lime very seriously and it was like pulp orange juice Aside from the drinks everything else was nice location ambiance service and food(aside from the churros) were good read more

A great time making memories. Original plan was to hit the yard house but the wait was crazy. Not much better here but we opted the lesser. Our waiter Joe was awesome. I like when someone doesn't need to go over friendly and is a model of efficiency. He was Johnny on the Spot all night. We started with queso bierra and had fajitas for mains. Awesome on all accounts and the house made tortillas were spectacular. The place has a great look and relatively open kitchen. Great time and grateful to the team here. read more

Was told by the greeter that they won't seat you without reservations, watched them turn away at least 35ppl. Went out side checked online and was able to make a reservation for 10mins later. Bad first impression. After being seated waited at least 15 minutes before having anyone ask what drinks we wanted. The restaurant was only 60% full. Ordered table side guac, didn't have it for 40mins. The service was horrible. The food was marginal. The last time we were here it was a much better experience. Probably won't be back. read more

The service was really good. Our waiter greeted us really well, and checked to see if we were there for the first time, which was great that they didn't assume. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at any of the locations. We waited for 1 hour with only water, chips, and salsa on the table. When we asked about our food, it came right out. It was without question horrible. It apparently had been sitting there for at least:30 minutes. The manager Nicole couldn't care less. The waitress Omrys( at least that's what the bill said) was distant, short, and impatient so we didn't expect much from her anyway. As a frequent customer at the Katy ( before it closed) and Austin locations this has turned my stomach with the entire company. If your location couldn't function for whatever reason, make the adjustments. Don't have the customer suffer for it. read more

The restaurant was not overly crowded by any stretch. We easily secured a reservation for 7. Our service was extremely slow. We came here for lunch when were in the area on I-drive. It just happened to be Cinco de Mayo (not planned- and you can see how behind in my reviews I am, lol :). So due to the holiday I assume, we did have to wait a little while but we were fine with it as there is lots of fun stuff to do and look at in the area. As a bonus there was a coupon inside to help us save $ on the Wheel which we wanted to do anyway. We were originally seated outside right in the sun which was a bit much for our family visiting from Ohio. There were seats in the shade which were available and I asked for them and they moved us, no problem. Our server Nicole was wonderful! Very friendly and knowledgeable. All of our food was completely delicious! All of us loved our meals. I would love to return next time I am in the area! read more

We arrived at 9:05 PM and were essentially refused service. We were told there were no open booths available, even though we were clearly looking at one. The hostess offered seating at the bar, which we agreed to, but on the way there we noticed at least two additional booths that hadn't even been cleaned yet. When we reached the bar, it was dirty as well. It felt less like they were full and more like they simply didn't want to accommodate us. Really disappointing experience. Shame. read more

The ambiance is great. The server was nice, but the kids almost had their food eaten by the time we got ours. I think our food was left on the line for too long. We had a Sunday lunch reservation and were seated right away. A friendly lady greeted us, took our drink orders, and let us know our waitress would be with us shortly. It soon became clear that our waitress was busy and possibly covering more than her share of tables. In the meantime, the woman who greeted us went above and beyond. We watched as she was everywhere--bringing drinks, setting up tables, refilling chips and salsa, and stepping in wherever needed at all the tables, all with a smile and friendly attitude the entire time. We later learned her name is Nicole. Extremely disappointing experience. The service was painfully slow from start to finish -- long waits just to be acknowledged, even longer waits for drinks and food, and no real sense of urgency from the staff. When the drinks finally arrived, they were poorly made and not worth the price at all. Weak, unbalanced, and honestly tasted rushed, which was ironic given how long we waited. What really sealed the deal was the staff's attitude. Several employees came across as unpleasant and uninterested, as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. No apologies for the delays, no effort to make things right. For the prices and reputation, I expected far better. Unfortunately, this was a frustrating experience and not a place I'd recommend or return to. read more

The worst decision ever was going to Uncle Julio's. The worst. Had a reservation but waited anyways. No big deal but should've taken that as a bad sign. Seated and waited about 15-20 minutes before someone emerged and came to table. He brought us chips and wandered off. No water and no drink order taken. Returned about 15 minutes later to get our order-- food and drink. Food came about 45 minutes after we were seated-- still no drinks. The food was absolutely the worst Mexican food I have had. Got drinks at the tail end of the meal. Awful on every possible level. read more

We came to Uncle Julio's on International Drive in Orlando while on vacation, excited to celebrate a birthday with family. We had a party of 8 and were looking forward to a good time--but the experience was incredibly disappointing. The wait for our food was excessively long, and when it finally came, there were items added to our order that we never requested, and things we did order were completely missing. When we brought this to the staff's attention, there was no real effort to fix it. Instead of trying to make things right, the manager was dismissive and unwilling to offer any sort of discount or solution--even after all the mistakes and poor service. When we pushed for the bill to be corrected fairly, it turned into a big ordeal, and shockingly, they even called the local authorities on us. All of this during what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. It was humiliating and frustrating, especially as visitors just trying to enjoy our time in Orlando. Food was good, we definitely won't complain about that. The staff on the other hand could care less you are there, that you want to order or if you leave. We managed to finally order food by a different bartender luckily. The other bartender did get us a beverage...even though I had a fly/gnat in it. We arrived for happy hour and were told to wait 15 minutes for a table next to the bar to be cleaned because the bar was full. After being seated and asking for the happy hour menu we were told that happy hour is only at the bar. When we told the waitress that we made it clear before being seated that we were there for happy hour and confirmed it twice before being seated she spoke to her manager and then told us they don't have happy hour menus but we could order of a piece of paper she scribble some things on. My partner and I dined at Uncle Julio's on International Drive a few days ago, and unfortunately the experience left a lot to be desired. We had a few issues with our food and requested some simple modifications. Nothing unreasonable--most restaurants are accommodating and understand that guests have preferences or dietary needs. Instead of being helpful, the situation was escalated unnecessarily by the manager, Veronica. Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. She made us feel like we were a burden simply for speaking up about problems with our meal. There was no effort to listen, resolve the issue, or show basic hospitality. Dining out should feel welcoming, especially when issues arise, and this experience was the exact opposite. Because of how we were treated, we will not be returning, nor would we recommend this location to others. Customer service matters just as much as food, and this was a major disappointment. read more

They started us out with chips and salsa, which were very flavorful (red salsa had some heat, brown salsa was smoky). The guacamole was made fresh at our table and was SO tasty! I got the beef enchiladas with rice & beans, my 20-something kids got a steak bowl and a chicken bowl, and my wife got beef & chicken tacos. VERY generous portions and tasted great. THEN came the desert - we normally don't get desert after dinner, but it was my wife's birthday so we splurged. The chocolate piñata was decadent! It looked like dark chocolate, but tasted like milk chocolate. Inside were pieces of pineapple, strawberries, and churro bites. Dipping chocolate and whipped cream were provided on the side. Really a phenomenal experience all the way around and my wife felt spoiled on her b-day! read more

Wife & I visited today, we are locals and she likes this place but lately service has been going down a bit. Today our waiter got our order wrong & was no where in site. She was very short with us and didn't write the order down. I assume she was just going off memory. I was able to flag down another waiter and ask if he could locate her and ask her to return. He came back & said he didn't locate her but offered to help us. He fixed my order & shortly afterwards the waitress arrived. Mine you it wasn't busy at all today. The staff was great getting our drinks and giving us time to look over the menu. There was so many choices to try and decide what to get. They had kids' coloring and seats for them, so it worked for our family. With the high ceilings and how busy they were it did get a little loud in there. The kids' meals had a lot of options which is good for picky eaters. The 2 flavors of salsa went great with the chips. One had a kick to it the other was milder. The made to order guacamole was perfect; mixed well and have great flavor. The portions were huge for lunch, we did not leave hungry. read more

My experience was nice for lunch as I came with a large group and we were seated within our reservation time. The food price is decent for the amount. Complimentary chips and salsa (mild). If you're looking for your moneys worth definitely recommend any of the fajita options. One of the several options pictured below. Includes: guacamole, cheese, sour cream, rice and beans (very good!), and flour or corn tortillas. I do not recommend the churros they were very greasy and burnt tasting. I didn't get a drink but one person in my group did and it looked very watered down with too much ice for a $14 margarita on the rocks. Other than that it was still a good experience and our waitress was nice with accommodating for a large group. read more

I have a sample their food at an event & I want to give this place a try. I don't live close. I was comings to Orlando for a conference. This place was on my lists to try whenever I am in town. The prices are are tourist prices but their portion is actually pretty good. Their doors open at 11:30 & we arrive at 11:35 and their doors were still close. By 11:40 their door was still close. So we left but the other restaurants don't open their door until 12:00. So we walked back and it was open at 11:45. They saw us trying to open the door and we sat at the bench in front of them. My service was super nice & I wanted to try the cucumber margarita that I saw advertised on Instagram. I was informed that was only a March special but I was there on March 30th! They were already pushing the April special. You do get some chips but parts of the chips were super greasy. We did order some cheese and it was pretty good. Their salsa was decent. We try the fajita special for two which also comes with a desserts. My husband liked the beans, I didn't want sour cream so they double up on the guacamole, that was a nice touch. The flour fajitas tasted like the Indian bread naan. Which I liked but it did have a strange after taste. My husband didn't like it cause it was too thick. The chicken was super tender & the shrimp was cook just right. It came with a sauce of butter which I never herd of before. Apparently you put it over the chicken. There was so much food we box it cause our hotel had a microwave & a refrigerator. Thank god! For the price I paid I didn't want to waste anything. Don't seat at a booth. The way the booth are designed it feel like a two year old was kicking the back booth. Another couple keep leaning back and it felt like they were kicking my booth. I am on the fence the food was good, the price well touristy, & my server was really nice. Will I come back to place honestly I do not know. I am not in Orlando that often so I am fence. read more
