Location: Chuy's Dunwoody / Perimeter, GA Date of incident: November 22, 2025 On November 22, 2025, I ordered takeout from this Chuy's location for myself, my two children, and a friend. The order included chicken and beef enchiladas with refried beans. While eating, I discovered a foreign object that appeared to be a balled-up napkin or paper material embedded inside the refried beans, completely concealed by the food. This was not visible until I had already begun eating. My children and my friend also consumed food from the same order before the issue was discovered. This experience was extremely upsetting and has caused me ongoing anxiety about eating out, especially when ordering food for my children or sharing meals with others. Finding a foreign object inside prepared food is alarming and raises serious concerns about food handling and safety. I am posting this review to make others aware and to encourage better food safety practices at this location. We came on a Friday night and the place was packed. We were told it would take 20 minutes for a table. We waited a little longer which was fine. The wait we weren't prepared for was our food. If it wasn't for the chips and salsa we may have left. The regular salsa was very hot, but we enjoy the heat. We asked for the jalapeño cream sauce which was a nice compliment to it. Our server was pretty efficient, just very busy. The place felt old and understaffed. We had the fajitas that thankfully were served hot as expected. Easy to locate from Barrett Parkway. We stopped for lunch after shopping for bridesmaid dresses. Chuys is a fun Mexican restaurant. Hostess was friendly and greeted us as soon as entered. We got a table with chips and salsa brought out immediately along with water. Our waiter introduced himself and went over the drinks. He said that depending on the liquor, an additional shot would be $1-3. We ordered the Grandma Rockin Rita's, which had a bit too much lime or sour mix. We asked for additional simple syrup to balance it out. They have two different types of nachos. One with no meat and one with your choice of protein called Panchos. The Panchos nachos were big serving and good flavor. I got the Deluxe Chicken enchiladas. The tomatillo sauce was very good. The chicken inside the enchiladas was plain and lacked seasoning. The sauce was really good but chicken still needed some flavor of its own. The service was good. Price and portion size of the food was good. The drinks were off day day we went. The flavor of the chicken was lacking in my dish. I've had food at the old Cumberland location that was really good. It may have been an off day. read more

My friends and I had dinner here a few days ago and enjoyed it :) I will say that Mexican chains in my opinion always have less flavor than the more hole in the wall, authentic spots and for that I tend to like them less, but all in all our experience was good. I loved the queso and the tres leches cake (that we ordered for dessert).The jalapeño dip too was pretty good. I loved their chips! I wasn't too crazy about the main dish I ordered, but there was nothing specifically wrong with it. Just didn't have much flavor. But like I said, that's kinda to be expected. Plenty of parking and at a convenient location. I also love the ambiance inside! It has a cool diner vibe. Our server was very courteous and came back to check on us often. Still really good but I am lowering them from a 5 star to 4 just because they no longer offer the chili rellenos that were my favorite. The simplifies the menu during covid and never added them back. Still a lot of good choices. My go to now is the Ponchos which is an oversized nacho with fajita meat. I like the chicken. The fajitas and burritos are all still very good and the chips and tortillas are made on site. Make sure you ask for some of the creamy jalapeño dip with the complementary chips. Also known as crack dip it is just ranch with jalapeños and dill. But it is good. Service is great. Not a bad value. Quite large portions. I still love this place I just wish I could still get those rellenos. Shout out to our server "McLovin". He has waited on us a couple of times and is always a lot of fun. So I'm here visiting on some business and was tired but was needing to get some food before going to the hotel. I saw Chuy's right close by and thought, "well I don't want pizza, I don't want fast food so I'll grab some quick industrialized Mexican food." I was not mistaken in the least. It was pretty bad. The rice was bland and just not good and this coming from Puerto Rican how loves to get rice...so you have to screw it pretty bad for me not to like it. The beans tasted like they were out of a can. I received a teaspoon of guacamole with my dinner...I missed it by the lettuce and thought I had something clumpy in my lettuce. The carne asada on tacos de carbon was okay, so so but the tortillas were awful and rubbery. On the bright side, their Hatch Green Chile salsa was delicious...truly the only righteous part of the meal. Oh, I sat at the bar to eat and the bartender acted like myself and the other patrons at the bar were an inconvenience for him/they/them??? It was our 1st time here. Celebrating our extended 8 years wedding anniversary. (My husband and I) We absolutely enjoyed it! The food are delicious. We had soft taco (grilled shrimp) and Custom enchiladas (ground beef) with Tex-mex sauce it was deliciously done. The service was awesome and the ambiance is definitely comfortable. We had a really great experience at Chuy's. Their outdoor space is very spacious and weather was great. I love their chips and salsa that they bring to the table for you. We started off with their Quesadillas, but they didn't really resemble the typical quesadillas you're used to seeing. It looked more like small soft tacos. Then we ordered the Steak Enchiladas and Combo Fajitas. There was a problem with our order of the fajitas though. We ordered for three people, but when it arrived, it looked a bit smaller than I was imagining for an order for 3. We figured out at the end that it was only an order for two. Unfortunately, it was difficult to tell because it was all combined onto one skillet and everything else in the order was also combined. However, I will say that the food tasted great and I really liked the tortillas. And finally, we ended the night with a nice tres leches dessert that tasted amazing! It was difficult to share with the others because it was so tasty and we all loved it. It was decadent for sure. I also thought our server was fantastic. She checked on us when we needed her, but wasn't around too much either. I thought she was great the entire night, except of course for the order mistake. We paid for our dinner on their website. They have a qr code option for paying your bill. We were followed to the front door by our waitress in a private detective fashion with her sneaking through the kitchen then popping out of nowhere to stare us down. She said nothing and we just kept walking out the door. I was extremely uncomfortable though when she proceeded to stare us down while we got in our car through the restaurant window. She was I assume getting our tag number as if we just walked out without paying our check. I am extremely upset we were treated this way. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager, John, which immediately made up some bogus story that she was helping him to hold the door for customers is why we were followed. What? Like you look silly saying that because there was NOBODY else around. Just admit you thought we were walking out without paying our check and you were mistaken. Our waitress was named Amanda - she needs to be trained on checking the system or asking the customer if they paid before acting shady like she did. That was highly unprofessional. If you're going to treat your customers that way, then stop allowing them to pay via QR code - she never even came by after we paid so that's why we couldn't even let her know we paid. This is one of my favorite resturatunts, and I eat here often. The staff are attentive and polite, and the food is consistently excellent. The interior of the building is also very striking (this is the case for all locations I've been to). I usually get the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo (3 enchiladas and 1 taco with beans and rice) with their amazing queso. I always have enough to take home with me, and it still tastes good after being reheated. The chips are incredible, and the selection of sauces (especially the creamy jalapeño ranch) compliment the rest of the food very well. I often drop by here to pick up chips and sauce to have with homecooked meals, and the chips stay fresh as long as you keep them in an airtight bag. It was the last hour of being opened during our visit and her smile and demeanor was on point. I started with a Father agave margarita which was good but after I finished it, I decided I didn't want another one. It wasn't bad, I just decided no more margaritas tonight. I switched up with a King's punch which which was more my taste for tonight. Mount Gay Eclipse rum, Malibu rum, pineapple, lime and orange juices and a splash of grenadine. Thankfully I made it in for the annual green chile festival which comes once a year during August. I had the Cosmic combo which is a chicken and cheese stuffed chile relleno with green chile sauce alongside a velvet chicken enchilada with rice and beans. Ample portions and full of flavor. Great option for catered work lunch. We had to pull together a work lunch for 12 people at 11am. We were able to order off the family meal menu and our food was ready by Noon. I totally forgot how much I LOVE their queso and chips!!! The chips are thin, crispy, not greasy with the right amount of salt. The fajitas and enchiladas were a huge hit. Our server, Ian was incredibly friendly and just as knowledgeable. He gave us a "sauce tour" and let us taste each one!
