First time eating at Chuy's and it was pretty good. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and a blackberry/lime frozen margarita. While waiting for my entree, I snacked on chips and queso. The chips were served warm and were the best tortilla chips I've ever had. They were extremely light. I tried the creamy jalapeño dip that they're known for but I think it was way too spicy. The chicken enchiladas were good. I also liked the margarita but it was strong. My only complaint was that we wanted to sit on the patio but it wasn't open despite it being 75 degrees. It was perfect patio weather and already had patio furniture on it, but they said it was closed. Despite this, we'll be back. read more

They have a nice outdoor patio. Chuy's offers good Tex Mex/Mexican food. Their chimichangas are one of my favorites. They are known for their many sauces from mild to burning hot. You can choose what kind of sauce you want for many of their dishes and chips. This is a nice place to go to for lunch or dinner with a group of two or many. read more

Chuy's use to be amazing, in fact I've gone here for my birthday dinner on multiple occasions. Then the pandemic happened and it has been going downhill ever since. Our first clue to stay away should have been that it was nearly empty at dinner time rush hour on a weekend. It took a while to be seated because they were chatting and just wandered away for a few minutes. After we were seated it took 30 min to get chips and drinks. There were only 3 other groups there. Then another 30 to get our food. They were out of some things so just made substitutions without asking. All in all we were there for well over and hour and a half. My family and I went to Chuys Polaris last evening for my birthday dinner. I usually enjoy Chuys and was looking forward to the dinner. But.... 1. salsa was terrible. Watery, vinegar sour taste, poured it over my meal and it was ruined. 2. Service was bad from the very beginning. check in took 20 minutes. No hostess and long line 3. We asked for more time when ordering. The waiter took a lot more time to come back to our table. 4. Had to request a glass for my Corona. Was never asked if we needed anything more or how was our meal. 5. Food was over cooked and very dry. Just a year ago Chuys was great. What happened. So disappointed. read more

While I love the food at Chuy's this is not my favorite location. I've been a few times now and service has always been poor to bad. This last time was the most confusing because the place was dead, we were there during an OSU game. We waited almost 30 minutes for our entrees and there was a period of 10-15 minutes where nothing came out of the kitchen. Once we got our food it was pretty good, but could have been hotter. My friend got the Elvis special but was only given 2/3 of it and was told his taco would be out shortly, they were making fresh ground beef. Which was confusing because one of his enchiladas had ground beef in it. Our server was out and around a lot but barely came to our table and when we were done eating we felt a bit rushed to pay and leave. Limited Menu during the covid virus but a great experience here! The food was great and the staff was very attentive to our needs throughout our visit! We were greeted with warm chips and fresh salsa, and we are regulars so we ask for a bowl of "creamy Jalapeno" dip (complementary) that is a non-menu item and make sure you try it because you will love it ! I stopped in at Chuy's for the first time after work the other night, and i have to say i was impressed. Annabel was the best waitress, explaining everything I didn't quite understand (it's Mexican, what's not to understand? But there were one or two items) and the food was superb. I'm slowly coming to grips with the fact that aside from ceviche, my favorite Mexican dish is a sampling of enchiladas (must include only cheese! Yummmmm) and Chuy's exceeded my expectations!! My first impression was wow Tex Mex. Well it's not really Tex Mex however it does have some heat to it. I like that. I ordered take out due to the virus. Arrived and the order wasn't ready but I was ok because it's alot of crazy stuff going on. Received my order with a smile and proceeded to go home. Breaking the speed limted a little to get home because the smell was making me more hungry. Got home opened the container and saw a massive burrito and a spoon full of rice. Ok I should have looked at it before I left the store so I will take the blame for the one scope of rice. The sad part I'm a rice guy so I like plenty of it. I was very disappointed. Good thing I didn't get a speeding ticket. The burrito was good and it was massive it could last for 2 days but I was starving so I killed mine. It took a while but mission accomplished. I had the chicken and we also had a bean. Both had great flavor and both had very little rice and no salad. The chips were very thin so when you dip them in your salsa they break however they were very good also. I'm going to try this place one more time with the ban is lifted I want to sit inside and get a vibe of this place and tell them I need more rice.. who I take a friend from out of town? Was nervous checking this new location out on a Saturday afternoon around 12:00pm. To my suprise, it was crowded, but we were seated in about 15 minutes. Our server was excellent! Fast, friendly and efficient. We ordered the queso dip which was really yummy and had a nice kick to it. The complimentary chips were fresh and delicious. I ordered my go to when dining at mexican restaurants, the chimichanga. Or, as they call it here at Chuy's, the "chuychanga". Let me say...the portions here are huge! Everything was really good. Chicken chimi, mexi rice and refried beans were all hot and flavorful. My fiance ordered the beef fajitas. Those were as delicious and satisfying! I wish we had saved room for dessert. Next time! Stopped into the new Chuy's at Polaris. I had heard about them before but never made it out their other location at Easton. Service was friendly and our server answered all 283899 of my questions. I loved all the different sauces and salsas available and REALLY loved the happy hour nacho bar! We got the appetizer sampler which was an awesome way to sample a bunch of different items on the menu. We loved their fajitas and the portions were HUGE! We came here for lunch on Friday, and the restaurant was packed. This is a newly opened location in Columbus, and it was my first time visiting. The service was very slow. We waited for at least 20 minutes to order, and another 25 minutes for food to come. The food itself was good. I ordered the Chuychanga with the deluxe tomatillo sauce. The tortilla was fried perfectly, and it was filled with grilled steak. I liked the sauce as well. The food portion was big and with reasonable price. I absolutely LOVE the Easton location. The issue is that it's almost always packed and takes too long to get a table. So I was excited about this one opening. Chuy's is an interesting place. They do their own thing there. For example, the chuychanga is nothing like you'd get at a Mexican restaurant. I ordered it once and it was so awful, I spit it out. It looked different, too. But the flavor was what got me. The fried flour tortilla tasted tangy, and it wasn't light and crispy. It was chewy. The server was really nice and took it away and let me order something else. He explained that it is dipped in an egg wash before frying. That is something I will not forget. I was raised in California on authentic Mexican food. That chuychanga was just so wrong. What does Chuy's do right? Their fresh salsa and chips. The tortilla chips are light and crispy and the salsa is fresh and finely chopped (likely given a whirl in a food processor). Very reminiscent of Chevy's chips and salsa. I've been there 3 times now and the chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas are my favorite thing because of the boom boom sauce. I went there the other night and it was not the best it has been because the chicken was dry. So I put some of their creamy jalapeño sauce on it and that helped. My hubby got the steak burrito with the deluxe tomatillo sauce and that was delicious. I had a few bites and the carne asada was juicy and tender and the deluxe tomatillo sauce was creamy and tangy. I think I may order that next time! So my conclusion is that the food is good, if you know how and what to order. And you can't beat the decor and atmosphere. read more

I am a huge fan of Chuy's but today they were underwhelming. We arrived around 1pm for lunch and the place was in disarray. Customers were standing around waiting to check in and there was not a host in sight. Finally after 15 min, the host breezed by he called for someone already checked in and ignored all the customers waiting to put their names in. To put this in perspective the place was far from packed but no one was cleaning tables to get customers seated. Once we were seated we had hoped they would redeem themselves but alas that did not happen. We waited an hour for two meals to be delivered. We watched customers come in after us, eat their food and go. A couple other tables were complaining with the same issue. The waitress was apologetic but really helpless. Finally, once the food arrived my husband found a food tie in his burrito. At that point we were done. The manager, Adam, came out and talked to us. He was really great. Very apologetic and comped my husbands meal. He offered us a voucher for a free meal next time. He explained some of the changes they were undergoing and that he was new to this location. They said no. On the website, in fact we were in during that time. I will never visit this place again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Fajita Steak & chicken - flimsiest, dry, no seasoning, low grade meat! I've mentioned in previous reviews that I'm not a huge fan of Mexican/Tex-Mex food but, I'll always try it if I'm told it's good. My coworker, Justin, has always had good things to say about Chuy's. So, we stopped for lunch on our way into Columbus last week. At first I was thinking we were going to have a bad visit - as we stood at the host/hostess station for a few minutes while no host/hostess was present. After a few minutes, though - and enough time to look over the shirts they sell that I can't fit into - our host made is way forward, apologized for the wait and seated us. Our server stopped by shortly after and we ordered meals and margaritas (it was happy hour so, $2 off). We both agreed our meals were good (she had the Chuychanga and I had the Steak Burrito). Justin recommended/insisted we try a jalapeno cream sauce w/ our chips, so we did. While he likes it a lot, I thought it mostly tasted like ranch dressing but at it nonetheless. The Hatch Green Chile sauce on my burrito, however, was delicious - and I hate grilled onions. Anyway, this is all going a long way toward saying "GET THE FRIGGIN' MARGARITAS!" This place is a pretty disappointing location from an otherwise decent restaurant chain. The food is delicious, although I would say the dishes with ground beef are a touch on the greasy side (even for ground beef). They could probably do with a better quality meat, or at least strain some of the grease after cooking. Nonetheless I like almost everything I've ever had at a Chuy's, and this location doesn't break away from the food quality I expect. Service is the main underlying cause for my rating. We went for lunch, but it was a late lunch and they didn't seem incredibly busy, although they weren't dead either. I don't know if our server was new, or just not that good at his job. The bartender didn't seem to like him, that's for sure. He took our order without writing it down. Thirty minutes later, after seeing two other tables of larger parties get their food before us, despite having ordered after us, our server circles back around to have us "remind" him of our order. It became very clear he forgot to put it in. Another 25 minutes we finally get our food, only I had ordered mine with the fajita beef and what I got was the greasy ground beef. Not earth shattering, but it's also not what I wanted or ordered. I was too hungry by that point to worry about it. There was a manager there who might have noticed us waiting so long if he hadn't been too busy pulling up a chair to chat with another table about the all the dog pictures and why the restaurant has an Elvis fetish. He did swing by to tell us the restaurant has really good music, but didn't even stop to give us an opportunity to state our issue. At the end of it, the server knew he screwed up, he knew we knew it too. Normally you'd expect an apology, maybe comp the drinks, something. No, he decided to play it like nothing happened. The place was also filthy, but I'll give them back a point for it because we showed up after the lunch rush on a weekend so they were probably just recovering. Main takeaway here is the manager is too busy having fun to run the restaurant, and if you get a server named Tre, make sure he writes down your order because he will forget it and then mess it up. read more

My work friends and I gathered for happy hour (9 of us). Our first time at this location. I called in the previous week to give management a heads up on the large number of our group. They were very nice & accommodating. Our waiter, Manny had a fantabulous personality and made sure we had an enjoyable experience. We all started with the Nacho Car. Baskets of cheesy goodness with beans, meat, pico......yum! Their chips are like fragile glass very thin and breakable but so fresh and good! Their salsa was a bit spicy but really good. I ordered the cheese quesadilla and washed it down with a Sangriarita. Both were so good! I can't wait to come back to this location and hope to have Manny again! Overall, Chuy's food is always good and one can walk away with a reasonable bill. The Chuy's at Easton--the first one to Columbus--has always had the best customer service whereas the three times I've been to the Polaris location their servers and hosts are passable at best. They are more at the level of a mid-grade chance m restaurant like O'Charley's or Applebees. To give an example, the host pIcked up our menus and started to walk away without sharing whether or not we should follow him so we had to specifically ask. Even then, he barely used his words and turned the other direction to walk the other way and said "this way." Afterwards we found out they still needed to prep the table which is fine, just speak clearly and with purpose by saying something such as "gives us a moment to set the table and we'll be right with you." Then once you return, speak clearly and invite us to follow you. Our actual server was also just OK. A manager ended up bringing out our food (for an unknown reason--I had not complained or anything) and he was simply polite and spoke clearly. That's all I'm looking for. The four stars mostly go towards the food. If I could separately rate the service it would be a two star review. Polaris Chuy's, look to Easton and their training on how to model yourself and your team. Don't allow yourself to lose the reputation of being a great place to have good food and a fun atmosphere. Chuys has raised the standard of mexican food for me so high that i am just not going to accept anything lesser than this. I have gone to the easton one and absolutely loved it. The one which got opened in polaris, i was not very confident about it and wanted to give it a try. So for team lunch i had suggested this place, and my oh my!what spot on authentic taste! Highly recommend this, and with this trip of mine to chuys i discovered this lays chip covered fried chicken named as Elvis Chicken with Green Chile; you should definitely give it a try as it i have never tried something like that before. We are from Austin and seek out Chuy's everywhere we travel (there are not enough of them, alas). This one is top notch. I had the freshest taco salad ever, Jamie the server was soooo sweet, and the restaurant was immaculate. The BoomBoom enchiladas were as good as the ones in ATX.
