Homemade tortillas! We didn't have high expectations, however once we sat down Danny welcomed us and was very kind. They have incredible sauces they will allow you to sample. We are familiar with Chuy's when we lived in Los Angeles & San Antonio and ate at the Polaris location for the first time last night. Wow it was DELICIOUS! It's True Tex-Mex. All 3 of our plates were amazing. The fresh Guacamole is out of this world, along with their house made tortilla chips. Yummo!! There's Elvis decor everywhere along with dishes bearing Elvis' name. (The original owner is a huge Elvis fan.) My Son had the Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken, a Menu Favorite - to die for. I had the Chuychanga - It's so delicious. The service is FANTASTIC. They give complimentary chips and two sauces, one is a jalapeño ranch, and the other is a spicy pico de gallo both are delicious. My friend couldn't stop reading the ranch one. Well... trying to think of something nice to say but this was the worst dining experience in a long time. Luckily, I was with a group of wonderful people or the whole night would have been a waste. Below mediocre service, grilled shrimp that was most likely microwaved, and the lighting was way too bright. It felt like the Frisch's Big Boy of Pseudo Mexican food. In our area there is a plethora of fantastic restaurants. Not good odds for this place being around long. Although to be fair, Anastasia went in search of the answer and returned to tell us, even though she wasn't our server. UPDATE...On the 8th of June I gave a lousy review because the food was terrible and the service was even worse. Chuy's reached out on Yelp to ask me to provide my contact information so they could make it right. I did so the next day by emailing them my info. I'm sure Chuy's felt that if they reach out on a review page and appear sincere to make a bad experience right that it looks good for them as a caring establishment. Not a stand out first visit for us. Visited on the suggestion of others accolades for it. It was a ridiculously busy weekend evening and the wait was 45-60. That was fine, as they will text you when ready! We headed to the bar. Service there was awesome despite them being non-stop busy. Margaritas certainly went down easy!! Chips are incredible. Yeah... salsa is too hot. I enjoy hot, but it was all heat without the flavor. The queso was a much better combo. It was a bit past our hour wait, but the bar made that okay, except it was getting quite late by that point. Service was a bit slow and when we finally got the food (it took the longest) it was nothing to really rave about.... maybe it was the many baskets of chips we went though. Pace yourself! Great service - our first experience here. We went for Father's Day dinner and despite being rather busy, our table was never neglected. Server was awesome, kids' meals portions were great, the entrees amazing - our chip bowl was never empty and the ranch sauce was to die for! I would opt for a milder sauce next time. They have SEVERAL sauces to choose from. From my old all the way through super spicy. My recollection is about nine or 10 sauces. I got a combination plate. I wasn't a fan of the Cheese enchilada, it was a bit sparse on the cheese and lacked a little flavor in my opinion. Happy hour seems to be a really good deal. They have a simple nacho bar set up that is complementary and some decent drink prices. Their ground beef for the tacos in season nicely and totally worth it. Two different kinds of rice to pick from as a side, green chili and red Mexican. Couple choices of beans as well. I would go back for sure! Missing items, no flat wear or napkins for a pickup order which clearly required them, and overpriced for what you receive. We greatly enjoyed our experience here. We were first told to would be a 45-60 minutes wait... we were fine with that. We waited probably no more than 25 minutes. Once we were seated everything moved very fast service wise. The salsa that comes to the table is spicy... so watch out if you're not a spice person. The creama dip that comes out as well is a great helper when you've had too much of the salsa. We also ordered the queso... fabulous and a ton of it. I ordered the fajita chicken tacos and my fiance ordered the baja fish tacos. I ordered mine with Mexican rice. Everything came out fast and was delicious. read more
