Lots of grilled chicken and simple tacos. I ordered some basic chicken tacos which came with lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. The chicken was in homemade tortillas. My meal was extremely dry so after asking for sour cream it was better but definitely not worth the money. And sour cream is an extra charge by the way! I don't think I'll be back. read more

What a pleasant surprise! My husband is from TX and I lived down there for a few years and Chuy's was a staple. I didn't realize this location even existed! We decided to grab carry out after stumbling upon the location on Sunday. The menu is limited right now but don't let that keep you away. We ordered the fajita dinner kit and picked a combo of beef and chicken. It was a very generous portion which fed us for multiple meals. It came with homemade flour tortillas, rice, beans, chips, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, queso, their special dip, and toppings for for the fajita meat. All this did only $50! Overall we were thrilled with the dinner and will definitely be grabbing another to-go kit in the near future. read more

Wow. Awful experience. Heard of this place and finally decided to try their new location on Michigan Rd. We were seated promptly. Then the waiting began. Waitress was definitely new, so we cut her a break. However, she was unorganized and service suffered for it. When the entrees finally came, it was obvious they'd been sitting in the window too long. They were already dry when they were placed on the table. Any server worth their salt would have never brought those plates to a customer. We thought about complaining, but at this point we were just thinking exit strategy. We choked down what we could of the franchised fare. Beans and rice were dry like the rest of the meal. My Hatch beef enchiladas were dry and pretty boring. My fiancé's flautas were next level old when they arrived and tasted like it. We will not be back. Dined inside. Don't waste your time. The service was horrendous. One person waiting on the entire bar area. Needless to say it was more than 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged after sitting down. Had to ask for chips, napkins and silverware. They never asked us if we wanted water, more chips, actually once we ordered the o oh time she came back was to cash us out. Pretty sad actually considering there were 4 employees walking around the bar with seating maps in their hands "looking" like they were working on something totally important. Why not lend a hand if your staff is that busy? Next time I will just keep driving when we want Mexican and stop at El Rodeo. They are quick, friendly and have better margaritas anyway. read more

I go to a lot of the Chuy's around town because I like their food. But this Chuy's is the worst in town. Don't' get me wrong: the food is great!! It's the appearance of the front end, it's the bar staff, it's attention to the customers that is all lacking... So 2 stars for good food but really poor service. For example, last night, went to the bar and asked for a beer and a blackberry margarita..."sorry sir but we can only serve you one drink at a time...that's a rule at this location..." ok no sign addressing that but I get it.... Get the beer pulled out of a tub of water....no ice had been refreshed to it so the beer was luke warm..... brought chips and salsa but no ranch....had to request it. Apparently they don't just give it out now at this locations.... Finally ordered food and it's get brought by the back staff in Chuy's quick fashion....no utensils, no napkins, no placemats....had to ask for utensils but they didn't bring napkins....I grabbed bar napkins... I noticed the table behind us also walking up to the bar to get napkins and straws from the box.... Sigh! Bartenders personal belongings on bar top too....purse and stuff... I think management needs to get with the program and stop cutting corners... read more

I think a 3.5 MIGHT be a bit more accurate, but I honestly think anything pushes it into 4 star range. It's a fairly typical chain, Tex Mex restaurant. The decor is what I'd call "busy"...lots of stuff hanging on the walls and from the ceilings, fairly loud music playing, some TVs tuned to sports. Now, all of that isn't necessarily a BAD thing, it's just not quite my cup of tea. Service has been very good, and the servers seem to be well versed in the menu. The food? Hot, pretty tasty, not terribly inventive in my opinion. I think if I could give one word to describe this restaurant, it would be "safe". Not too many surprises on the menu or in the service. It's one of those places we won't make our first choice, but won't hesitate to meet friends there if they wish. read more

I really liked Chuy's and I'd be eager to go back. the Chuychanga (or whatever) was pretty close to authentic fundido and welcomed the hatch chilis on the side. Margarita came in a glass that looked a little small but ended up taking forever to drink (first world problems). Our server was welcoming and attentive without stopping my the table every thirty seconds. Never once was I asked "how's everything tasting?" which kind of annoys me and comes off as disingenuous. The happy hour nacho toppings out of the trunk in the bar were great but I had to be careful not to fill up on meat and cheese. The kids meals were good portions for money and I'm happy to say I ended up eating the leftovers for lunch the next day. Chuy's was a treat. Next time I have to do a family Costco trip, we'll stop here first. read more

The food was pretty quick and hot. The prices are reasonable Carry out: I purchased fajitas. They weren't ready when I arrived. I forgot to add some queso on my order and asked if I could purchase a separate amount. It was a huge ordeal that 3 different servers couldn't figure out (I literally had cash in my hand). Our server knew we were coming right back but another busser wasn't aware of the situation and cleared our table. I really liked my experience here today. My friend and I both thought the food and the service was excellent. I had Chile Rellenos, one chicken and one shrimp. Charro beans and spicy rice for my sides. I went with the hatch sauce on the side, which was a bit spicy, but had a nice texture and flavor. The chips are not my favorite kind because they are too light and brittle to transport the salsa to the piehole without fear of breaking. The salsa had an interesting flavor. Chuy's finally opened! This location is smaller, but just as festive as the one at Hamilton Town Center. They just re-did the inside, but it's very fun and believe me the food is much better that what was in this location! The nacho bar was open and it was awesome! During happy hour they have free chips, queso, salsa, and beef to make your own nachos. I've heard about how good it was, but this was my first experience! I also ordered some guacamole! I ordered a blood orange margarita and my husband got a blackberry mojito. My drink was just okay. I didn't think it tasted very orange flavored. It just tasted like a margarita. The mojito was AWESOME and I was so jealous. I'm getting one next time. I went with the chicken fajitas and it was a great choice. The chicken was tender and juicy. Our table felt so small, but right before the food came out the waitress helped us pop up our extenders! And that really helped. I was surprised to see another Tex-Mex style restaurant open on the northwest side and I had never been to a Chuy's so I had to try it. The restaurant was busy for lunch )tables packed inside and out) with people waiting in line but I was alone so I was able to seat myself at the bar. Ty, the bartender, said the day before was much slower so I don't think every day would be a challenge to get a seat. The chips were quite thin, reminiscent of the chips served at Chili's. The pico on the side was tomato-forward but had a taste of cilantro and a nice green chili spice. First time here so I ordered one of the recommended dishes, chicka-chicka boom-boom enchiladas (interesting name). My dish came out in reasonable time with the standard rice and bean sides. The beans did have flavor and texture which is a plus. The rice (not sure if I was served the Mexican rice or green chili rice) was cooked with a salsa or chili blend so it had flavor and the texture was still very good. The 2 enchiladas were filled with large chunks of shredded chicken and cheese. The chicken had good texture. The boom-boom sauce is a thin queso and green chili sauce with the perfect amount of spice for me (listed as hot on the menu). Ty's service was very efficient with 8 at the bar and servers ordering drinks. The downside (my pet peeve) is that Chuy's billing machines calculate the suggested tip after the tax has been added. For my lunch that would have added pocket change but for a large bill that could add multiple dollars. Restaurant patrons are not supposed to tip the added tax required on the bill. read more

Always happy about our experiences at Chuy's. They're typically busy during normal business times so adding your name is recommended but it's right by the mall so there's lots to do if you need to wait. Our kids love playing on the playground if we have to wait. We love the jalepeno ranch but know that it is not super spicy. They do not have white queso. They're outdoor seating is still inside but had to big open windows and is a bit quieter if you have kids. The decor inside is really great though! read more

The food is typical TexMex. The service is decent, the employees are awesome. Inside is NOT really wheelchair friendly. The tables crowd the center isle with people seated partially blocking. A booth along the wall with tables spaced as they are now means no less customers. But, allows a safer for all wider center isle. At the corner the large round table an L shaped booth coming from the corner where the wall turns the corner you can still sit 6 people easily and allow for more room. I saw employees and customers tripping over chair legs and constantly nearly crashing into each other. We had no room for my wheelchair and a power chair user would require removing not just a chair but a table as it is so cramped as it is now. Don Pablo's, Moe's and such are all about equal in food quality and quantity. As I said pretty typical. I did enjoy the staff as they all had such awesome personalities. 2 stars for that. If the owner wishes to have me come in and explain my ideas better I would love to help. The parking lot is oddly designed with parking blocks preventing more of the curb that is even with the parking surface to be used easier by wheelchair and elderly people. Snow will hide those blocks and pepple will trip and be injured. The fix - Remove the blocks and put in poles so they are not tripping hazards and law suits waiting to happen. Fixing these things may not seem important until legal action is taken after an injury or other issue. For able people watch out for those parking blocks in the handicap area. read more

Came here for dinner and our waitress Gris (Griselda) was great. Although the restaurant was busy, she was attentive to our needs. The food, for the most part was incredible as always. The salsa tasted a bit sour, but it's made fresh and can taste different every time I imagine. My gripe here is with the front of house staff. They continue to be rude upon entry, quite unwelcoming, misinformed and wildly Unprofessional. They gave us quite wrong estimations for how long we would wait (it ended up being much shorter, but they were off by an hour over), seemed to be dismissive when I asked for a table and gave my number, and they were literally laying their heads on the host stand. This is so inconsistent with other Chuy's locations. Carmel--please address your FOH staff! read more

Very happy to have been invited to Chuys today. Server was very charming and perfectly accommodating. Restaurant was lively and operations was a organized machine of efficiency. Food is good Tex Mex. But really the refried beans were distinguishable. For me, Tex Mex is pretty standard grub but the presentation is the big differentiator. And the presentation was just memorable I strongly recommend this to be added to the lunch spin wheel. Been a while since we had been here because of Covid 19 and was disappointed that the regular menu had been replaced with a much smaller and less choices. The fish tacos are not on the menu anymore, much to my wife's dismay, but the shrimp tacos were a great meal as was the chicken fajitas. The portions were well worth the price! I ordered the appetizer combo by suggestion of the waitress because I was indecisive between the quesadillas and queso. They don't skimp on the fillings! Everything was so hearty! Even the nugget kids meal was a large portion sz and for $6 beats a fast food joint. The flauntas and quesadillas and queso were my faves! The loaded nachos were just a bit TOO loaded for me lol I'll definitely be back but probably inside as the mosquitoes and gnats were extreme on the patio. We were in the area so we decided tacos (no brainer). It was around 6pm on a weekend, so it was busy. Put our name in and was told it would be 25-30 minute wait. We wait for almost 25 minutes. Seated with a smile. John swung by because he was fully busy, introduced himself. Grabbed our drink order, continued to assist the table next to us with their child (to keep him happy so the parents could enjoy their meal). He quickly returned with our drinks, asked if we were ready or needed time. We asked for more time. Once we decided John remembered our order, and kept us informed when it would be out. He stayed on top of refills, helped assist other wait staff, and treated each table as if it was his only one. Great job John! I Hope Chuy's realize what an asset they have in him!
