Breakfast burrito up top Pork ribs and sliced brisket with potato salad and Mac Chopped brisket potato salad and Mac

My husband found this place online and we made a road-trip to explore it it's over a hour away west and we enjoyed the scenery. The place is very humble hole in the wall type vibe. It's a Mexican bbq place so we enjoyed that as it's not that common of a combo. I had no complaints the food is good They have homemade flour tortillas which is a plus! Thanks for the great food and hospitality!

My review is based on a Home Town BBQ or (hole-in-the-wall) which is an inconspicuous small restaurant. First impressions of the place and location it doesn't blow u away as a fancy or city style place. But I come from a very small country town so seeing this was like seeing a restaurant that would be in a small town. Once I got my chopped brisket sandwich and fries the fries look a little sad to me I tried the brisket first and it has a bit of spice to it without bbq sauce. I'm not big on spicy food, but it was very tasty and wasn't too much. I tried it with bbq and it popped and combined nicely together. I was very impressed by the bbq brisket. I then moved on to the fries which didn't taste as bad as I thought they would. The fries are homemade and look limp and if u add salt they taste ok. When I come back I'll get chips instead of fries. I then tried some chicken from someone across the table and it was very juicy in some spots and a little dry in other spots. It was very good chicken when adding bbq sauce it really compliments the taste. Some of the plates like the bbq brisket sandwich plate and bbq half chicken plate have good quantity with amazing taste and the restler breakfast burritos had amazing tastes as well. I highly recommend testing the bbq food at this restaurant it is pretty impressive, and I will be coming back when passing from Weatherford to Mineral Wells.

We saw this little gem on YouTube and decided to stop by. It did not disappoint, tasty and fresh. It was so good we ate here two days in a row.

We made an impulse stop on the way to Weatherford. Hard to turn around on the highway. Soooo glad we did. The Rustler breakfast burrito was excellent. A little smoky, meaty, and quite hearty. Inside is really simple, like we'd expect a rural bbq joint to have. "The money is in the food". Outside is really, really small bbq joint look. Smells of wood smoke, and the smoker was fired up when we drove up this time. Cashier and cook were friendly and helpful. Cooked to order. We will be back to try other food for a lunch/dinner meal. Closes at 5pm, so gotta plan for it.

I love this place! Roadside dive but that's part of the charm. Delicious brisket whether in a breakfast burrito or sandwich. Very clean and staff is masked.

Had menudo today was fresh and really good. Coming back soon to try the tacos. They sure looked great. The people who own the place are very nice

We arrived at 11 am for breakfast while traveling through TX…read more We chose our table and were attended to quickly. Hubby had the veggie omelet, hash browns and toast. That was only $13 and change. I enjoyed french toast and eggs. Every thing was perfect, including the side of a biscuit and gravy. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Whistle Hill's Café - Downtown (Weatherford)…read more It was a friendly atmosphere and tasty breakfast. I came here with family to enjoy southern hospitality food and that we did. We ordered their daily special and an omelette. Both dishes tasted great from scratch, with fresh ingredients and generous portions. From the outside, it looks small with light colors brick painted. Once you step inside, you can tell they were creative and made good use of the space. Inside was my favorite. Western theme throughout. At the front entrance, where on each side windows looked like used to be storefront windows, they made them into seating cubbyholes. If you look to the right, I loved seeing brick pop out and large letters, "WEATHERFORD," written on the wall, with pictures below it. In the very back wall they had a wall-sized mural of Texas flag. Very nice touches throughout the place. You have good options for seating, with twenty-plus tables and forty-plus chairs. The staff were friendly and helpful with drink and food options. If you're looking for good Texas hospitality atmosphere, I'd recommend stopping by.

Awesome food, service, atmosphere and menu. Fair priced…read more Clean environment. Will definitely be back and bring friends.

We came here after a full day of biking, hiking, and kayaking at Lake Mineral Wells State Park,…read morewhere we were camping (keeping with our tradition of getting Tex-Mex for dinner after such excursions). Taqueria La Estrella has a high ranking, so we came in with high hopes. It's got that typical small town Texas restaurant vibe, and the chips and salsa were great, and you even get your own little personal salsa bowl, which was a nice touch. The margaritas (giant glasses) were also solid. Unfortunately, after that, everything was downhill. The queso was gloop with ground beef mush served on top. The lime chicken cilantro wasn't bad, but it was just very uninspired. We appreciated that there were cooked zucchini and squash on the side, but the chicken itself was really dry and we did not see any cilantro to speak of! The El Tejano was a combo plate that did not showcase much: the hard taco was basically just more slop in a shell and the enchilada was just covered in the queso goop and nothing else. Beans and rice were whatevs. Our daughter's cheese quesadilla kid's plate was as you would expect given the above. Our server was a nice kid, but it was clear that he was new because he didn't really seem like he knew the menu. But he was attentive enough. Anyway, we weren't expecting fireworks in Mineral Well, so this place pretty much lived up to expectations. Three stars.
