Bakers Ribs was always a great place to get a consistently good meal. We got takeout at least once a week since 2020. But several months ago, something changed. The food was good sometimes, other times not, and the serving container got smaller and the price went up a little. So the consistency was no longer there. However, the staff is friendly, we met the owners and they're nice people, and when the food is good, it's really good, so we've continued to go there. When Heim's opened across the street back in November, we figured BR would really lean into the challenge and become competitive in order to keep their current customers and gain new ones, things like sprucing up the menu at the drive-thru speaker, maybe lowering prices a bit or even better, including a soda or tea with the meals at no extra cost. But no, they didn't seem to do anything to try and compete with Heim's. Btw, we've heard Heim's is not nearly as good as they used to be when they first started and are very expensive, so we've not even tried it yet, and we were being loyal to Bakers Ribs. We've been there a few times in the past month, mostly during lunch hour and there were hardly any cars there ... the lot should have been full at that time of the day. It was surprising and we wondered why there weren't more customers there. Anyway, for the most part, our orders were good, but we still don't like the smaller containers and the fact that drinks aren't included. The point of writing this review is to suggest to the owners that they step up their game a little bit and make it seem like you want to grow the business ... offer some enticements on the meals and the pricing, use the bigger Styrofoam containers again, update your menu screen at the drive-thru to make it look friendly and inviting, and maybe start putting some catchy signs out front on the display to get people's attention. We'll continue to patronize BR and we hope this review is of some help. read more

This is not good. Fake bbq joint, mac and cheese flavored water, meat fatty and VERY expensive. This one , I would suggest to pass on by! Simply not good imo. read more

Warning - wear your stretchy pants when eating here! Coworker from out of state and I stopped in here for lunch and almost couldn't work the rest of the afternoon. Portions were extra large and food delicious. We tried the ribs since that's in the name and weren't disappointed. We also both became believers in the fried pies. Yum! Mac & cheese, more like Mac & watery yellow juice the Slaw is bland, thought the ham sandwich tasted more like char from a dirty grill (ham wasn't grilled) the bun was the issue. BBQ sauce - only one type (bbq place, expected maybe a couple options..) salad bar only had one pack of lemon juice in a pan and some relish packs in another pan ( not even fresh relish..?) and the trash can is an outdoor roller can (no lid). This is my 2nd visit to Bakers Ribs. My 1st visit I had the chopped beef sandwich on a bun with chips. Today I notice the prices were a few bucks more. No big deal. That's the case most places right? Today I ordered the chopped beef sandwich with 2 sides. Each side was maybe 3 plastic spoons worth. My sandwich was on buttered white bread and so wet and dripping with butter I could ring it out. The meat was good so I guess that was the saving Grace. Lucky me the rare occasion I had cash on me was today as I noticed they have a sign next to the window announcing a 3% service fee to use your debit card. Very disappointed. Family in from out of state and wanted bbq. I called in the order - about $135 worth. Asked for all the fixing with the 2 baked potatoes with chopped brisket. They came with the brisket and a few chopped onions - no butter or sour cream or cheese. The ribs are the worst I have ever had. Very tough. The brisket was decent. I saw the low ratings on a couple of sites, but have ordered through the drive-thru before and no problems. We live too far out to go back to make this right. Was at bakers sat about 4 30 pm. I ordered the 2 meat plate, slice brisket, hot sausage, potato salad and baked beans. Here's where the problem starts. These WERE NOT baked beans, have no idea what they were, the potato salad was so strong fron garlic, who puts garlic in potato salad. The brisket was dry with no flavor at all, the hot sausage was pretty good. Also had a large ice tea, nothing but colored water. Got a cherry pie, pretty good. Quick friendly service, I ordered the chopped beef sandwich it was perfect served on a warm bun, with fresh coleslaw nice and crisp and potato salad it was good though I like mine mustard based. The fried pies are AMAZING, save room! If you're eating in get yourself your favorite pie, I chose apple. Poor management, after ordering over $130.00 worth of Barbecue, I ask for some free rolls, they told that would not be possible. Did not apologize or attempt to accommodate me in any matter. Have been a customer since they opened, first they cut the doggy bag and now they seem to be to cheap for their rolls. I found their beef to be under their usual standards, it was dry, tuff and flavorless. The ribs were good as well was the mild sausage. Beans and potato salad were the same. Now for the rolls, a subject of contention, they were not yeast rolls, store bought wrapped in plastic. Their cost per dozen maybe $1.75, not worth losing a long time customer. I ordered the 2 meat combo Ribs (meaty and tender) & hot sausage with potato salad (mayo based yum) & Mac and cheese (nom nom). He ordered the 2 meat combo Turkey & Brisket with scalloped potatoes & Mac and cheese. We ordered a chocolate ( more preferred) and pecan pie which we didn't realize were going to be fried pies (our bad) and 32 oz tea. Total $47.52 Initially, I was extremely skeptical and anticipated receiving dried, old, food for 4:00pm but not at all the case. It was as fresh and delicious with the same quality as a noon order! We went to Baker's Ribs, it was a rustic style feeling. You walk in and see bibles right in the entrance which gives it a good Christen vibe. You walk up to the line and order, I got the sausage and brisket with a side of Mac-n-cheese and scalloped potatoes. The meal was so filling and so yummy I needed a nap. But the Mac-n-cheese was so delicious I got a big cup for the road, I'm from California and I will drive back to this place for there Mac-n-cheese!! They advertise that they are the original fried pie place so I got a apple pie, which they warm up for you if you ask and they throw in the option of free ice cream with the pie. I will never go back. I had a relatively simple order. Sliced BBQ beef plate with beans and potato salad. I also ordered a lemon fried pie and peach cobbler. So I get home to eat the sliced BBQ - two pieces ( the ones on top) were perfectly fine but underneath were two big chunks of fat. Totally inedible. So I figure what the heck, and I eat the beans and potato salad (which was excellent - so was the sauce, btw). Then I think I'll have my dessert. Nope, it wasn't included. But trust me, I was charged for it. I am SO tired of getting ripped off by people that don't care enough to get your order right. And - on top of that - they give me a clipboard to sign my receipt - I don't know who's touched that thing. They could have signed it for me. Don't Go Here, Rude Childish Young Employees. I stepped on the tile next to the cash register and I got yelled at. I got a cup and attempted to get Tea but they were out. I went with the Rib plate and thought they were better than average . Not the greatest but pretty good with nice smokey flavor. The plate came with 2 sides and I went with the scalloped potatoes and dill potato salad. I'm not a potato salad fan really and this was really good. The potatoes were excellent as well. By far the most disappointing BBQ I have ever had. It is grossly overpriced for the amount of food you receive. We spent $60 on a family of three and even if you combined all three of our meat plates it still wouldn't have comparable to the amount you would receive elsewhere. The meats were tasteless and lacked much of the smoky flavor you would expect. All the sides taste like they come for a box or can.
