If you like fried food, this is the place to have it because it's gonna be good and tasty and fried perfectly. Now I've had fried green tomatoes twice at this place one time they were really thick one time they were really thin. I think I like the thick ones better but they were both pretty good. The star of the show is the stake though the steak is always the best ever melt in your mouth full of flavor. Don't even need steak sauce. I'm at a loss for words trying to remember what else we ordered now that I'm talking about the steak. I'll also mention that the service here has always been great, friendly, helpful and sometimes just fun conversation with the staff. It is certainly one of my new favorite places. read more

This place was alright, especially for the area. Definitely a locals watering hole. The bar was busy and servers were bustling. We opted for a couple of house drinks and some takeout. The drinks were a little sweet for our liking, but they tasted of good quality and most of the mixers were house made for what we ordered. The food was mid but good for the area. The smoked ribs were quite tender but lacked any bark. The smoke was there but a side thought at best. These were cooked and had smoke around, but not cooked by the smoke. Better than Dickey's. The sides were fine. My wife ordered the grilled chicken and enjoyed it. Pretty solid. We might be back if we are in the area but wouldn't travel for it by any means. Our first time at this location, and it did not disappoint. We had two servers and they were both great, and communicated when they would be coming around since our area was fairly full. It is a very busy place. The food was so good. We both had steaks, a salad, and poblano cheese grits. Each item was great. The steaks were full of flavor and the grits were great with the steak. If you are unsure like I was get the grits. Being gluten free means no bread or croutons but we didn't miss a thing. I've eaten here many times and I have never had an issue or gotten sick. It is a little hard because they don't have a dessert that could be gluten free. It's an old time country place. The chairs can be a little hard and they are not the most comfortable to sit in for a long time. When you walk in and see it, you know what to expect. read more

While on business in Mineral Wells this place was recommended for use to try out. We started with the Queso w/Brisket and that was a solid choice. Although the queso could have been a little hotter. Our party of four each chose something different. I opted for the Chopped Brisket sandwich with a side of potato salad. It was okay but nothing I thought was fantastic. Those others chose the sliced Brisket, Burger, & the last chose Ribs. The only one who disliked was the Rib order. I believe it was the BBQ sauce that turned him off. It was a very well decorated restaurant and the decor was intriguing. We had two servers Destiny & Caitlyn but were great! The service was really good with frequent checks to refill iced tea and check on the food, as well as petition for extra items to be ordered, particularly dessert. The barbecue sauce was just kind of " meh"but the beef was tender and well cooked. Being located next to the highway and apparently very popular, it was nice to see if some spacing between the tables so that it didn't appear supercrowded in terms of the ambience. We went here last night for a celebration dinner,we would of had better food and experience going to a fast food place. I order my steak medium well I told the server absolutely no blood a little pink is fine but no blood . Well my steak was barely seared on both sides so much blood it covered the plate and got on the rest of my food . My husband ordered his rare it was rare so rare it was still cold not to mention it was like chewing bubble gum.So hard to chew my husband was getting choked trying to eat it . Also the steak had no flavor what so ever .My grandson's cheeseburger was horrible he said I'm sorry I don't like mesquite pit. His bonus mom ordered the catfish was cold gummy and no flavor . We waited over 45 minutes for our food cold food .Needless to say we did not eat our food . Mine ,my husband's & our nephews bill was $125 mind you we don't mind one bit paying for good food but . I don't know what their bill was but you paid for food we couldn't even eat . Now as someone who has been a server , you know how your customers has ordered their food and when you see blood all over a plate you know ordered no blood at all you say something.
