We have a house in the Cliffs, so we really hoped that food would be excellent even if prices are elevated. Tried the restaurant last weekend. Service was slow due to the large parties. Food was terrible. We were so disappointed. Chicken fried was cold, mash potatoes cold, pretzel with cheese looked like cheese has been sitting too long. New server was not trained. Unfortunately, most cooked items were poorly prepared. Maybe I need to go back to the over priced club sandwich. I certainly hope with the new dinning room that they give the residents a reason to frequent the restuarant before it closes itself. read more

Great location on PK lake. Cliffs resort is great. The golf is outstanding. The marina is very nice and rentals are available.

We love eating here after a day on the lake! Friendly service and beautiful views - we love the patio with our bernedoodle!

We have had several wonderful breakfasts here! The omelettes are wonderful and the avocado toast on sprouted wheat is yummy too and so healthy! We are moving to PK soon, so happy to have some healthier options close by! read more

Let me start by saying we LOVE this place and we love The Cliffs. We've been coming here for years, as we lease land down the street. It's where we like to go for a good meal when we are out here. We don't know what has happened to their menu and food, but it's really not good anymore. That's the nicest way I can say it. Our burger tonight was terrible. It was unbelievably overcooked, looked pre-pressed and possibly frozen, and lacked seasoning and sauce. The mac and cheese had zero seasoning, like NONE, and the fries were pale and below average. It all tasted like nothing. One of the best things they used to have was a quesadilla and that's not on the menu anymore. We are so sad! I really wish they'd get someone in there to do some training on the basics. read more

Called on fathers day morning, the chef answered the phone. He told us there was no reservations needed. When we arrived and sat down we asked for the menus and were told it was a buffet day for fathers day.$30.00 adults kids 5 and under free. The only thing in the buffet that was okay was the salad. The service and attention from the waitress was perfect. You could get better food at golden corral or any other buffet for half the price. My advice to management will be to put your self in someone elses shoes and rate the food. This is a resort you should have better tasting foods or fresh. Brisket was chewy, (store bought) chicken was dry, corn bread fell apart and really dry. I hardly complain but when you charge $30.00 for adults to eat mediocre food that irritates me. read more

Came here for dinner. We stayed at the cliff resort hotel and this is their restaurant at the property. We ordered Cajun crawfish pasta, smoked pork tenderloin and kids pepperoni pizza. Food was delicious! We ordered wine as well. Bill came out to almost $90 for family of 3. Service took a little longer but at least our food came out hot and fresh! They do not offer room service even though this restaurant is in the property and just right next to the hotel building. read more

This was our 2nd year staying at The Point at The Cliffs condos. Chaparral was delicious last year and didn't disappoint this year. Husband had fish & chips, the batter was perfect and the fish was cooked perfect. I was boring but had a very non boring bacon cheddar burger. It was perfectly delicious! Can't wait to visit again. I don't usually leave reviews but after many times here as a very happy customer and seeing less than raving reviews I felt I needed to leave one. Had the petite filet, cooked perfectly, green beans, and sautéed mushrooms. We have eaten in the dining room and grill and both were great. Friday night we ate at Papadeaux's in Ft Worth. I have eaten at Papdeaux's often and I am always amazed at how people go on and on about how good it is... to me it is OK. The service is hit or miss, yet they are held in high regard... Saturday night we sat down at the Chaparral Grill at the Cliff's resort on Possum Kingdom lake and we had an amazing dinner with the perfect service. Our waiter/host was Anthony. This is our first time here but we will surely return. I recommend this place as a local DFW get-away. read more

I don't understand all the negativity. We stayed the weekend here, eating twice in the restaurant and once in the bar. Every time we were seated immediately, despite not having a reservation. Service was prompt and friendly, and the food was good (better than I expected actually). If I could give a zero I would. My husband and I came to the resort for a romantic weekend. We came in to the Chaparral Grill hoping to have a good meal. Instead neither of us ate due to cold, stale, old food. We walked in 2 hours before closing. I order a filet mignon , mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. The sides were cold. I did not get the steak I ordered. I politely asked for the steak that I ordered and said I'd be happy to wait for what I had ordered. My husbands order was old, stale and cold as well. I told our waitress that I would be happy to wait. Instead the chef came to the table in casual shorts & T-shirt. Then was immediately rude. He immediately started to argue and get loud with us. We were refused to be given the food we ordered. We both left hungry. The employees were too concerned with leaving on time even though the had an hour and a half until close. For a 5 star resort that was the worst food I have ever ate. All we asked was for the meal we ordered. Our time here will be cut short due to rudeness not only at the restaurant, but at the hotel as well. The desk clerk had no customer service skills and sits at a desk playing games. I say hotel because in no way should this be considered a resort. My husband and I waisted precious time that we never get to have together because we both work full time and raising a family of 4. Date nights are few and far between. If it wasn't so late and My husband had not already spent a small fortune for our weekend getaway then we would have left immediately and drove the 3 hour trip home. We will never come back and never let anyone else in our friends and family group waste their time or money on this cheap hotel. read more

That was so bad, I almost decided to quit eating and simply die of starvation. Tonight my wife and I enjoyed an exceptional meal here for our anniversary. The management and staff were very attentive to our needs and served the most incredible meal for us. They seated us in a private area and made us feel like we were the only clients they had. Portions were just right and preparations and presentation was perfectly done. There was background music but I was able to enjoy conversation with my wife without having to talk over it. It is worth the trip and should be on your list of places to try. All in all it was a fantastic memory shared and one to be remembered - 10 years and still in love. read more

I thought this was pretty good. We got there a bit early and got to choose our seat , great view. Wine list is decent , a bit overpriced , but decent. I would go with the Hess. Wife had wedge salad and I had the Chile both excellent. I had the steak and she had the Salmon we both loved it. The coke slaw was fantastic , green beans too Mac and cheese ok. We decided to come to the Cliffs resort for V day weekend from Dallas. We failed to make dinner reservations, so we decided to have some drinks and bar food for an early dinner. We were pleasantly surprised with the food and service. Our waiter Doc was on it. I got the chicken quesadilla and my husband got the chix sandwich. They were both super good. Not sure where to start. The service is horrible. We ordered an appetizer which never came. When our meal finally came, we said to forget the appetizer. It appears everything is frozen, nothing was fresh. The turkey burger was frozen as were the onion rings. The catfish was luke warm and also frozen, frozen FFs and the coleslaw tasted like Chicken E's. The hush puppies were burnt and butter hard as a rock. The baked potato was microwaved. There were 2 large groups one was a quiet wedding party and the 2nd had about 25 kids all talking very loudly. Forget about a nice evening out for dinner. We both had the filet and it was very good. We just had dinner (April5, 2014) at The Cliffs Resort. It was soooooo bad that we literally just laughed and laughed through the dinner. They have a view to die for and food that you would rather die than eat. The service was horrible too. There is too much wrong to list and we overheard that the wedding party sent 20 Martinis back, so I guess the bar sucks too. The dinner didn't ruin our stay at The Cliffs. Actually, we really were laughing at times almost uncontrollably because the dinner was like watching a comedian that just doesn't let you catch your breath before hitting you with an even funnier line. It wouldn't have been so bad, but there was one employee who was really good and friendly and she was standing at a "cook to order" station (like an omlet station, except it was a small bowl of seafood soup??? At least it was served hot) at this Seafood Buffett (first Saturday of the month special) so we were trying to hold in our laughter, but we only mildly succeeded. One of us would laugh and the other would loose it and laugh even more. My favorite part was the stack of plates with uneaten food at our table. My first plate from the very special once a month Seafood Buffet looked suspect, but I held out hope and proceeded to take one bite of each item to discover that it had been over cooked and was now cold. By this time, I knew the dinner was going to be classic, so not wanting to cut the feature short, I tried more items and took one nasty bite of each and then would push the plate aside. Finally, after the waitress made a few trips to our table to refill our water (she never did offer us wine or a drink, by the way) and never attempting to bus the table I decided to stack the plates and i mean really high, i was going for cinematic effect. She returned and refilled the water yet again and left the stack of dishes. Well, now, I was certain that we were part of the production (like a dinner theater that includes the audience) so I picked up the stack of dishes with uneaten, minus one nasty bite of each item, of food, and intended to walk through the half full restaurant with them for everyone to see. It would have added to the production greatly, but Terry didn't realize my genius and loudly protested my activity and the waitress finally came running to take the plates. I was so disappointed because the other patrons would have been telling thiis story for years, but as it stands Terry and I have an adventure to share repeatedly with our friends. Hell, I woke up laughing about it this morning. Classic, I just wish that I could made the winding walk through the restaurant with our dishes, that, that would have made classic-EPIC! read more

Can't review the food because after an hour and a half of no one coming to take our order, bring us menus, or apologizing for the incredibly bad service and attitudes of the dinner employees I finally left. Yes we were sitting in the bar after being told since we didn't have a reservation there would be a 30 minute wait. However we would have eaten in the bar if only someone had cared. We would have ordered at the bar if someone would have taken our order. My husband actually sat at the bat with our order desperately written on a napkin for 30 minutes. Never again. And I will let the 51 people here with us know what a miserable experience this was. I get being understaffed. But hiding because you realize the pissed off table of 10 probably isn't leaving much of a tip is not the way to run a successful business even if you are the only show in town. Although the reviews here aren't exactly "glowing" our experience was quite the opposite. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon with a large party of 15+. The service was reasonable quick considering the size our our party. I had a patty melt which was served quickly and was actually quite good. I heard no complaints from anyone in our party regarding the food or the service.... and you certainly can't beat the view. read more
