Amazing service! The food was to die for. Skinny margaritas OMG! I personally think is better than Uncle Julio's.

Great food, great service. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the rice tastes a bit odd, but not bad.

My husband and I moved to Mineral Wells almost a year ago and have been wanting to check this…read morerestaurant out for some time. I'd heard so many good things about it... and read many positive reviews. We drive past it on a regular basis and kept saying we needed to go soon. Finally on Valentines Day, I took my dear spousal unit out to dinner and that was where we went. Parking is great. We both have a few minor mobility issues but were able to park right out front. We walked into a tiny, intimate eatery with a definite Tex-Mex vibe. I didn't count the tables but I don't think there were more than a dozen, only two occupied. We were seated and given menus along with time to peruse them. The woman who waited on our table was busy but still gave us excellent service. I ordered fajitas; my husband chose barbacoa. While we waited, we munched on standard chips and salsa. The plates came out hot and steaming, and smelling good. My fajitas were served on a traditional small iron skillet and looked delicious. The taste was pretty good however, the meat -- even the chicken -- was unexpectedly tough. I took most of it home in a box and ended up tossing it in the trash. My husband said the barbacoa was horribly greasy. Again, the taste was okay but the meat swimming in grease was just too much. He said the beans and rice were fine. In addition, we were seated near the bathrooms... and wow, did it ever smell like it! Not what you want to smell when you're eating dinner. Unfortunately, I don't expect we'll be returning to Mi Fiesta. I really wanted to like them but it just didn't happen.

I built my own burrito with a homemade tortilla -- and it was excellent! The chorizo, avocado,…read morescrambled eggs, and potatoes were perfectly balanced and full of flavor. My wife absolutely loved the Migas, and my son enjoyed the Chilaquiles -- the real kind, made with freshly fried tortillas. They were served with delicious ranch potatoes that complemented the dish perfectly. My other son had the tortilla soup, which looked great and came with rice on the side -- he really enjoyed it. The service was decent, and the ambiance captured an authentic Mexican feel, right down to the chairs and decor. Overall, a great experience with genuine flavors and a warm, homestyle touch. We'll definitely be coming back the next time we're in the area!

Served piping hot with packets of caramel but you don't need to put anything on these perfected crunchy cinnamon and sugar treats. Tons of crispy crust on the outside with a soft delicious dough on the inside. Everything was served really and really fast which I love. HUGE drinks (Coke products). Enchiladas verde was so spicy it had my nose running but good flavor. Salsa is very mulched and blended not like a pico and very delicious. Check out the Baker Hotel while you're there. Cool town and will probably be booming soon.

We came here after a full day of biking, hiking, and kayaking at Lake Mineral Wells State Park,…read morewhere we were camping (keeping with our tradition of getting Tex-Mex for dinner after such excursions). Taqueria La Estrella has a high ranking, so we came in with high hopes. It's got that typical small town Texas restaurant vibe, and the chips and salsa were great, and you even get your own little personal salsa bowl, which was a nice touch. The margaritas (giant glasses) were also solid. Unfortunately, after that, everything was downhill. The queso was gloop with ground beef mush served on top. The lime chicken cilantro wasn't bad, but it was just very uninspired. We appreciated that there were cooked zucchini and squash on the side, but the chicken itself was really dry and we did not see any cilantro to speak of! The El Tejano was a combo plate that did not showcase much: the hard taco was basically just more slop in a shell and the enchilada was just covered in the queso goop and nothing else. Beans and rice were whatevs. Our daughter's cheese quesadilla kid's plate was as you would expect given the above. Our server was a nice kid, but it was clear that he was new because he didn't really seem like he knew the menu. But he was attentive enough. Anyway, we weren't expecting fireworks in Mineral Well, so this place pretty much lived up to expectations. Three stars.
