I don't even know where to start here. We tried to go on 3 different occasions. The first time we went, the hostesses were extremely rude. It was also a two hour wait when they had open tables. They told us they had reservations for graduation, but when we called earlier to make a reservation, we were told they didn't do reservations. We left. The second time the wait was an hour and a half. We called that time, but again, whoever answered the phone was rude. We didn't go. The third time we went at 5. They told us it would be a 30 minute wait. We said OK, and waited. 45 minutes later we asked how long, and the rude hostess told us it hadn't been 30 minutes yet and it would be another 10 minutes. So we waited a total of 55 minutes. We were seated and only waited about 7 minutes for a waitress. She was ok, not friendly at all. The queso was watered down and pretty small compared to what other places serve. We ordered our food. The Chuychanga is relatively small. The chicken was flavorless, although another person at my table said it was good. I had the Ranchero sauce, not much flavor. There was confusion on what they brought us. The runner didn't know if it was the steak burrito or the ground beef. My wife didn't get her food. I mentioned it and she said there was too much to carry and someone else would bring it. There were 8 people, and 5 were kids meals. When the waitress finally came back, I mentioned it again and she went to get it. All of us were done eating by that time. The steak in her burrito had good flavor. The tomatillo deluxe sauce was good. The entire time we were there we were wondering why we stayed, and we just wanted to leave. I might be willing to give it another try a few months down the road. read more

Just ate in Amarillo TX. Very good service by Braydon and the food was excellent. Chips were fantastic as well as both salsa and the cream jalapeño dip. It was very cold temperature wise we requested help on that and it was immediate. We will be aback again and again! read more

The service was excellent, the food was good, the atmosphere was okay. The menu was a bit anemic, but what the offered and selected by the various members of our party was enjoyable. Worth the trip and worth adding to a long rotation (once every 2-3 months). If they have a rotating menu on a schedule, it would be worth eating there every time the new menu was posted. My first visit here December 26. I had heard great things about this place. Unfortunately I was not impressed. The staff were great, but the food not so much. The enchiladas were supposed to be made with corn tortillas, but I swear it was flour. The meat sauce was super salty. The water was from the tap. The table had not been wiped down before we were seated. The salsa was good. Sadly I will not go back. Sorry Chuy. read more

Rude Hostesses & Dirty Tables! Thought we would give a new place a try. Hadn't heard great things but wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, well the talk was true. We ask for a table, got seated and the table was dirty as were the chairs. The waitress was coming toward us so we told her and she went to front and told hostesses. One of the two hostess came and put the sides down on another table. We moved to it - it was also dirty. As we were walking over, I saw the second hostess walk over to the first table, slide her hand across it and walks back to the front. She did NOT clean the table. As we were walking out - both hostesses were leaning on the front counter- we told them the second table was also not clean and we were leaving. I told the hostess that had walked over to the first dirty table that sliding your hand across it was not cleaning it. Her smart mouthed reply - "It was just a piece of lettuce" - with attitude! To which I replied, "No, the top needed to be wiped off - there was guacamole and who knows what else on it." I know that a table is to be sprayed and wiped down, and not with your dirty hand. Chuy's was great. Friendly greeters, attentive servers. Good food prepared well and fast. We were in and out in under 40 minutes.

Took my girlfriend out to lunch and she ordered the chicken soft tacos and while we waited on our food another lady started complaining her chicken was cold/raw and sure enough when our food arrived my girlfriends tacos were cold. Their menu is also very limited and I was hoping to get my favorite meal but they did not serve it. Over all very disappointed read more

First stopped here on our road trip from Dallas to Denver and were quite pleased. Service and food was on point. On the way back to Dallas, at the request of our kids, we stopped here for dinner again. This time, they exceeded our expectations. Our server Danielle saw our tired three kids and made sure everything was taken care of quickly. Food quality is excellent. She even took the time to talk to the kids and make sure this tired mama got her margarita quickly! I can't say enough good things about the service and this location. We will be coming back next time we're in Amarillo and telling our friends to do the same. read more

We have gone twice for dinner and once for lunch. All three times were fantastic. The dinner wait times were 15 min. shorter than the estimates both times. The lunch estimate was exactly what they said. For dinner, our chips were hot and fresh. At lunch, the chips weren't hot, but everything else was super good. Service was on point all three times. We have enjoyed both their queso and guacamole dips. My husband loves their boom boom sauce and has topped both his burrito and enchiladas with it. Though they are not offering a full Chuys menu right now, there is enough of their favorites for you to have a good experience. So glad to have another good Tex-Mex place on the west side of Amarillo. read more

Love the deco of the place, staff very friendly, my server was very sweet and very attentive, the food was amazing, I really loved it, I liked their sauce with chips, the sauce was really good and not spicy at all, had a really good flavor with a tang and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients l, rice had a great flavor and was done perfectly and the refried beans where the bomb , I had the fajitas and they were delish chicken was moist and juicy, the beef was well seasoned and to top it off their homemade flour tortillas was delish, we had the steak and chicken panchos as an appetizer and it could go for a main dish by itself, added some boom boom sauce to it and it was really good it, surprised at how big they were loved them, my son had the steak burrito and I took a bite and it's was really good with the sauce, the sauce was good with a kick to it, will have to try that next time I go with the whole fam, I do recommend this place read more

The wife, kids, and I went to Chuy's on Friday for lunch. We were expecting great food from all the hype. It was not that great. My little boy loves food and he would hardy touch his enchiladas. The wife and I split combo fajitas. The fajitas did not come out sizzling and were barely warm to the touch as were the tortillas and it was all cold a with in ten minutes. We could only stomach half the order. The wife and I had a stomach axe shortly after we left. On the good side, the hostess was nice as was the waitress, although, she never came by to check on us. Had to flag her down to get a to-go drink and tab. The building is nice and clean. Not sure if we will be back to this location. read more

3/6/23...We ended up at Chuy's because Twin Peaks completely ignored us after we were seated. What a huge stroke of luck for us! We were seated right when we walked in the door at Chuy's. We didn't even have to wait 2 minutes before TONI L grabbed our drink order. The menu is by no means large, but it's nicely varied. We ordered the Wild Burrito (new menu item) and the Custom cheese enchiladas with their Red Chile sauce. The burrito was massive and filled with the best brisket I've ever had...anywhere in this entire country!!!! Fall-apart-no-fat-at-all perfection. The enchiladas (rolled, 2) with beans and rice were so good. That Red Chile sauce is straight from heaven. Not spicy, but loaded with flavor. I should have ordered a side of it to pour over the rice and beans. We ordered Tres Leches for dessert, and let me tell ya, it was almost as massive as the burrito. It was far and away the best I've had. From the time she took our drink order until we paid our bill, Toni was super-attentive (as she was with all her tables, as far as we could see), checking on us, making recommendations, just being a sunny happy girl. A complete delight! Between the fantastic food and Toni's stellar service, we've already got another trip to Chuy's planned. Thank you, Twin Peaks, for ignoring us! read more

I ordered curbside pickup. Not only was it extremely easy to order, but it was even easier to pick up. They were fairly busy and there was a pretty bad thunderstorm. Despite all of that, the lady that gave me my food was super nice! We got queso, beef fajitas, flautas and cheese enchiladas. Everything was very good. Keep in mind that they serve Tex-Mex, so it's not going to be super traditional Mexican food. One plus is that the food had really good portions, something that doesn't usually happen when getting things to go. If I were to change anything, I'd recommend adding an additional tortilla to the fajitas. There was a lot of meat and veggies left over (a pleasant surprise in my opinion). I have to compliment the manager at Chuy's. That night we called, because there were not fries with the kids burgers. They had run out of fries, but the manager delivered chips and queso and extra condiments, which really made us happy. So, in my opinion she really came through and made up for any issues we had that night. With managers like her there is no doubt the issue I had with the wait will be an anomaly. read more

I wasn't too impressed. Although a year and a half of hype and build up probably didn't help. Having never been to a Chuy's before all I knew is what I had read about it online, endless salsa bar, chili rellenos, and other stuff. But they don't have any of it. Blame COVID if you want but this place had a very limited menu (a single piece of 8x10 paper). They bring a tiny bowl of pico de gallo with chips, and yes that is what it is, finely diced raw tomatoes and onions with a little cilantro. The server was very nice but when ask it they had any other sauce like green sauce she said they didn't actually have any salsas just the enchilada sauce. She did bring a jalapeño ranch that I'm sure would have been great on a salad. I love how people rave about the delicious salsa like they have never tasted a raw tomato before. If you love Mexican food like me , you'll probably be disappointed. If you're only eating to stay alive, you might like it. At least the staff was friendly and that's has to be worth 3 stars. read more
