After tasting these hot and fresh churros, you can never go back to the frozen ones. $10/bag for 6 long pieces. We came on Sat midday for post-lunch treat, no line. Sometimes I see line of 5ish people. We downed it while standing on sidewalk. Next time I need to bring chocolate sauce another Yelper suggested!

Warm, golden, and perfectly crisp churros coated in sweet cinnamon sugar!

Amazingly crunchy, golden & fresh off the fryer! Perfectly crisp on the outside with a soft fluffy center coated in sweet cinnamon sugar. I came on a Saturday afternoon, quick service with a steady crowd. It is located next to a parking lot where you can enjoy your fresh, hot churros! $10 for about 6-7 pieces!

I've been hesitant to try to go with all the reviews saying how flaky he is being there on time. We got lucky on a weekday going late 12 something after lunch. He was there alone frying away. I looked at the oil and since it looks like he just finished frying the first churro, the oil was clean. It is $10 per bag. He takes zelle and cash. The churros we for just came out of the fryer right to a late of cinnamon sugar. There is no place to let the oil drip so it may look a bit greasy later in the bag. The churros are big, light, crispy, and the cinnamon sugar is a good balance. He was nice to give us paper towels while we ate them there. Bring your own chocolate sauce to kick it up a notch. Definitely try them.

No wait. Hot bag of $10 churros good for 4 people! Not too oily and a good amount of cinnamon and sugar

Gustavo makes amazing churros! They're fresh and hot. He does take cash and Zelle. I have been to many churro stands in the bay looking for authentic tasting churros that remind me of my homeland, and this is the spot that makes them legit!

Was lucky to catch Oscar selling churros today around 2pm. There was a 20 min wait since he wasn't here yesterday (he was booked for party) but it was worth it. Oscar was nice as always and the churros were amazing. $10 a bag, he accepts cash and Zelle as people have mentioned in reviews before.

The listed hours are unreliable. Sometimes he's there, sometimes he's not. But if you're lucky to catch him, these are the best churros in the bay! $10 a bag. I think you get like 6-7 pieces. Went at around 7:40 on a Friday night and there were 3 people ahead of me. It came out pretty quick though. Churros are doughy on the inside. Best eaten hot but also yummy once cooled down. A staple in Hayward. Also lots of parking available.

The best churros ever! The crispy crunchy sugar cinnamony dessert was to die for! Just a guy making churros, it can get busy. I bought a bag for $10. Worth every bite! Make sure you bring a hat, it can get hot depending the time of day you go... and if you're waiting for a fresh batch!

Amazing, friendly and Oscar made us a fresh crisp one. We love Churros, and Costco discontinued and replaced with cookies. Bad idea. Churros brings me back to Mexico cruise vacations Closed every Mondays,

Opens at 5pm, line already at 4:30pm being 90 degrees outside

Best churros I ever had! $7 for a bag full of goodness, you can't go wrong. To be honest I don't think I will go anywhere else for churros.

Ask the Community - Churros

Can someone please post the hours or confirm the hours as of March 25, 2023? I see all kinds of hours on the reviews but some are way back from 2019. Would be great to know for sure as it seems like the Yelp hours aren't correct. Thanks!

According to a November 20, 2023, San Francisco Chronicle article, the hours are from noon to 5:30 p.m. (or until sold out). The telephone number is 510-472-4895.… Read more

He is there today? 3/23/23?

Not there 😤

Does anyone know how I could contact them?

Does anyone know if he's out there rn?

Yes. Right now

Are the times posted accurate? It looks like In the reviews some people are going at noon?

Does anyone have contact information for him?

No contact info but you can speak to him when he's there. He's friendly and understand English. He's usually there on good weather days from 1-5p everyday until he's finished.

What are his hours of operation? I'm craving these churros.

I just talked to the guy. He said M-F he starts at 2pm until he finishes. Sat-Sun he starts at 11am until he finishes. He sometimes stays until 8pm but depends on whether he runs out early or not.

They are a pop up taco stand without any seating. PARKING: Located near a shopping plaza, customers typically park in the nearby lot. IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: This is an our new favorite spot! Their meats are cooked well with food flavor. I usually get 5 tacos with buche and al pastor. They have a self serve topping/sides/salsa bar.

As a regular in this area, I've noticed a few red flags that are hard to ignore: Zero Visible Permits: Most legal food vendors are required to display their Alameda County Health Department "green placard" and a city business license. This stand has neither. Hygiene Issues: There are no visible handwashing stations or proper refrigeration systems for the raw meat and trompo being served. In a 2026 climate where food safety is increasingly a concern, eating from an open-air tent with no running water is a major gamble. Unfair Competition: Our local "brick-and-mortar" restaurants pay high rents, city taxes, and regular inspection fees to keep our community safe and fed. Unpermitted pop-ups like this one operate with zero overhead, which directly hurts the small businesses that have been the backbone of Hayward and Union City for years. If you're craving authentic Mexican food, please consider supporting the shops that actually follow the rules and invest in our neighborhood. You'll get a safer meal and help a local business stay afloat: Taqueria Fronteras 1 (just down the road on Whipple)--Reliable, inspected, and consistently great. Don Julio's Taqueria--Incredible quesabirria and they actually follow health codes. Taqueria La Placita--A local staple that has earned its reputation the right way. Let's keep our community healthy and support the people who actually pay into our local economy!

Grillaz Gone Wild has fun takes on the BBQ sandwich, and does them well. They sure do not skimp on ingredients! The food truck staff was fun, friendly and gave helpful hints about the items on offer. The pepper steak sandwich was stuffed with hot cherry peppers and the ribeye meat was pretty dry. There wasn't enough American cheese on it. The loaded fries were a good portion. The fries were lightly seasoned with all seasoning salt. They were crispy. However, it was smothered in too much cheddar cheese and scallions. There wasn't much bacon on it and the ribeye meat was in large pieces which didn't make it as enjoyable. A little pricey for what it's worth as we spent ~$26 on 2 items. :/
