This food truck serves up great cheesesteak and other sandwiches with some unique options. I ordered the Flying Pig. When it showed up, it was loaded with bacon, ham, pineapple, chicken, pork and more! It was a beast of a sandwich! To maintain my beauty (??) in the presence of the beast, I only ate about a third of it. The rest of it was just fine reheated later on. Grillaz Gone Wild has fun takes on the BBQ sandwich, and does them well. They sure do not skimp on ingredients! The food truck staff was fun, friendly and gave helpful hints about the items on offer. They serve the classic cheesesteaks, but I think that they stand out for their unique interpretations of the classic sandwiches. The Flying Pig. Does it intrigue you? Trust me, the pineapple pulls the flavour together. Now, search for Grillaz Gone Wild and catch that Flying Pig! read more

We decided to try this food truck for dinner last night since it was nearby. We shared the pepper steak sandwich and the loaded fries. The pepper steak sandwich was stuffed with hot cherry peppers and the ribeye meat was pretty dry. There wasn't enough American cheese on it. The loaded fries were a good portion. The fries were lightly seasoned with all seasoning salt. They were crispy. However, it was smothered in too much cheddar cheese and scallions. There wasn't much bacon on it and the ribeye meat was in large pieces which didn't make it as enjoyable. A little pricey for what it's worth as we spent ~$26 on 2 items. :/ read more

For lunch one day I decided to get Grillaz Gone Wild. I was tired to getting the same food for lunch every day and so when I saw this food truck I decided to try something different. I decided to get "The Original". It was my first time at Grillaz Gone Wild so I wanted to try something simple. I've had cheesesteaks before and I never get anything fancy when I go to other places that have cheesesteaks so I thought "The Original" would be a good choice. The sandwich was good but not amazing. I liked it but thought it could have had a little more flavor. Maybe next time, I'll try something different. Overall, the experience at Grillaz Gone Wild was good. The worker was friendly and the service is quick. However, I deducted one star from this review because of the price. I thought $11 for a simple cheesesteak sandwich was a little expensive. I wouldn't mind trying another sandwich from Grillaz Gone Wild someday in the future. I still recommend this place to anyone interested in trying it. Enjoy! Simona read more

:(. My coworker loved this truck last time I ordered for him and the guy was super nice and friendly it just took forever to make. So today I decided to try it for myself... I was surprised the line was average pace for a food truck but receiving the sandwich didn't take half hour like it did last time. The guy taking my order didn't seem as friendly as the last one.... And I'm not sure if they charge for "to go" orders? But my sandwich was $8 $1 for fries added... I had a $10 ready to hand over....and my total was $11 cash.. Minus star for misleading signs. Not sure how $9 became $11... I asked if he was sure and he said yes your total is $11. For $11 I didn't love the cheesesteak. It was good but I've had better and for $11 it was alright. Maybe I was disgruntled about the price charge but I think I will be foregoing this truck next time. read more

I liked it however, the meat was a tad bland albeit tender, definitely NOT enough cheese but I liked the peppers, mushrooms, and onions.. how the bread was very soft and everything really came together nicely. I got the deluxe and for an added $1, fries! The fries should be skipped entirely as an added side unless you order an actual order of fries to go w/ your cheesesteaks. I will try their other selections which I'm certain will increase my overall rating. Service was great and kudos for accepting cards! read more

Gorillaz Gone Wild is a solid food truck if you've got a hankering for Philly cheese style sandwiches! Normally, I wouldn't choose Philly cheese steaks if it was on my own tab but since this truck participated in a company food truck day, I opted to try it. I chose the Pepper Steak which came with beef steak slices, white american cheese, and sweet/spicy peppers galore on a soft roll! It was quite tasty and filling but I felt the steak to bread ratio was a bit off. The soft roll was very bready, I wish they would have slathered on more steak. Beware! They are not stingy with the peppers! It's a mixture of sweet red bell peppers and spicy pickled green peppers. It was a good combo of sweet, salty, and sour. It was just the right amount of kick and it gave the sandwich some pop! But again, pepper to steak ratio was also off as I felt I got more pepper than protein. I would give this truck maybe half a star more if they were so skimpy on the protein. Otherwise, it's a solid choice at $9 a sandwich! Gut bomb for sure so don't go dozing off at work after consumption! read more

These Sandwiches are no joke, they're huge! Seriously, if you're at a food truck event then one these can be shared with 2 or 3 people if you're trying multiple trucks. I was lucky enough to get to try them at our very own food truck event in Mountain House and where I did really want to try the Chicken Bacon Ranch it wasn't on the menu for the evening so I went for the Flying Pig instead (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/grillaz-gone-wild-fremont-2#kRjrwNSaZuXWhLqY-94DwQ) - $9 + $1 for Fries. \Loaded with Chicken, bacon, ham, pineapple, onions, sweet chili sauce, green onions it was meant to come with American Cheese (ick) but asked for Cheddar instead. I didn't know that the Cheddar Cheese was actually Cheese sauce so this is something to keep in mind when ordering. That small overlook on my part was ok though as it was still pretty darn tasty. The Bread was soft, there was a lot of filling and amazingly the goopy Cheese and Sweet Chili sauce actually went well together, The addition of Fries however wasn't needed and were a little cold for my liking and the Sandwich was filling enough split between 2 for a light meal. I just finished up Rugged before stopping by the Fremont's 2nd annual burgers and brews event and was famished. This seemed to be the most appealing sandwich at the event, or maybe I was just super hungry. I got the Peppery Steak Sandwich. Description sounded delicious. I was excited for my first bite of food that day. Wait was about 10 minutes. Sandwich came out hot and the bread seemed toasty from what i picked up. Loved the amount of sweet and spicy peppers and meats on it and I could see the gooey cheese! Unfortunately, the bread was dry and crumbly, which was a deal breaker for me. I've read reviews that say otherwise, so maybe I was just unlucky that day. read more

It's all about The Flying Pig!! Life will never be the same now. Chicken, ham, crispy bacon, melted cheese, grilled pineapple, sauce topped with green onions cradled in an over sized soft sourdough roll...call me porky (oink) give me another and then let me take a nap. It was the best $9.00 spent (plus a buck for tip) at the San Lorenzo Street Eats with Food Truck Mafia. It will be difficult to pass this truck up next time so I am going to be a cheesesteak whore on Thursdays for now on. Expect the line to be long but it will go by fast. Want fries? It's just an extra dollar. Our order was ready in about 10 mins. They accept credit cards. The guys are friendly and will package the food if you are taking it home. It's all about The Flying Pig! Grillaz Gone Wild is in it's 2nd season. by their calendar year, it's their first. the menu's changed. the emphasis now is on varietals of fries and philly cheese steaks. locale: new park mall(5/9) eats: original philly cheesteak(7) -was charged 8 for it, was busy asking questions about menu so wasn't paying attention -yep, just onions, sliced beef, and cheez whiz in large hoagie bun. -probably could do this at home for couple $$ -nothing extraordinary about the taste, just greasy. -:"funky monkey fries" (7) had garlic, cheese,..., bleu cheese. passed on this. 7 for fries? so unreal! crumbs: -friendly but understaffed -no signs: "order here" , "pick up here" -no napkins visible, none given. -seems pricey......only $1 add on fries reasonable. read more

Grillaz Gone Wild turned out to be our favorite food trucks at Off The Grid in Pleasanton when we saw them there that day. Was unsure about purchasing anything here, but their staff member did a great job of convincing us to give them a try! 5 stars for Customer Service! Flying Pig caught my eye so that is what I ordered! The name itself is awesome because I always dream of seeing a flying pig! Don't judge me! Anyways, they packed that warm toasted roll with plenty of stuff! There was chicken, ham, pineapple, onions, cheese, green onions, sweet chili sauce, and bacon filled to the brim! Needed a fork to clean up the mess I made. That Flying Pig was so darn good!!! ( 4.5 stars) Because the sandwich was large, I thought that the price was very reasonable. Now, I do not know how the rest of the sandwiches taste. Will probably try more of their choices during future visits. If I really like one or two additional items off their menu too, then they will be getting 5 stars from me in the future. read more

After seeing a friend return from the truck with one of their sandwiches I just had to try one. I ordered the Portobello Vegetarian with Portobello mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, garlic, sweet hot cherry peppers, and cheese. I added the steak fries for an extra buck and asked them to hold the bun. Even without the bread this sammie was generous enough for two people. The peppers and onions were delicious and remind me of my friends home made sausage and peppers. I didn't have to wait more than a couple of minutes for the savory goodness to be delivered. They'll be at Stoneridge Mall on Friday. Looks like I have a reason to 'go shopping' for once. read more

I was able to try the Flying Pig when they were at a local food truck night in the San Lorenzo area and my sister brought me home a hot steamin' sandwich from this food truck. First impression? They don't skimp you on portions or flavor. It's a pretty hefty sandwich that they fill with whatever sandwich fillings your order dictates. First bite? It was really good! My sister got the Flying Pig, which is their most popular sandwich and we definitely know why! It really does pack a heavy punch and sensation of flavor! Chicken AND Bacon AND Ham alongside pineapples and whatever else is in their sauce or really this sandwich! By far, I can understand why they run out of these by the end of the night! Sadly, I wasn't able to get my hands on my own but my sister did get me the Mushroom Swiss, which is essentially a beef sandwich loaded with cheese and mushrooms! This sandwich was quite good and they were were not all stingy with the mushrooms and cheese and kept it true to the sandwich's name (Mushroom Swiss) because not only was cheese oozing out of my sandwich, mushrooms were falling out as well! :) BIGGEST CAVEAT? While I enjoyed my sandwich, one of the biggest problems I had wasn't the bread that eventually got soggy either because of the sauce or the moistness of the ingredients or steam building up in the to-go container. It was that the meat/fillings was WAY TOO SALTY. I'm all about the salt life and adding enough to bring out the flavors of a dish, but there's a very fine line between just right and too salty & unfortunately Grillaz Gone Wild crossed this line. I had to take breaks to drink water during my sammich, that's forsure. Note on the soggy bread? Some people love this, but I really enjoy the nice crunch, but I get that a) all sandwiches are different and b) I didn't get mine when it was super fresh. All in all, not a bad fast food truck option and worth trying especially if you can get the Flying Pig Sandwich! Pretty filling and they even have other sides you can purchase to really complement your sandwich, such as fries! Wooo, potatoes are life. However, I would avoid this place if you're not really into foods that may or may not come out oversalted imo. Nonetheless, I would be down to eat one of their sandwiches in the future. read more

Solid food truck, got to try them at Fremont Street Eats. Mushroom Swiss Cheesesteak: Delicious, loaded with steak and mushrooms. Tasted just like a mushroom and Swiss burger. I loved it. Loaded Fries: Not the biggest fan. It said cheddar cheese but came out with more of a cheese sauce that reminded me of fake nacho cheese. I was expecting gooey, melted cheese like what was on the sandwich. The bacon and actual fries were great though. Very impressed by the customer service, the grill was taking awhile to heat up so they gave us a free drink. read more

I have been waiting to try this food truck for a bit and finally got a chance last night at Fremont Street Eats. Based upon reading all the reviews, I had to order the Flying Pig. First of all, the sammie was filled with meat and topped with green onions. They definitely didn't skimp on the portions, which I really appreciated. The flavors were awesome. It was so good, I just couldn't put it down. I also ordered fries for an additional $1. The steak fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly, since they were crispy on the outside. The Grillaz we're A-OK. Truck was clean and was fast, only took about 8 min for 2 sandwiches. We got the Flying Pig, and the Pepper Beef and they were pretty good. Flying Pig is sweet and not as messy as the Pepper Beef with all its juices. They were both good. When another customer asked what tasted better between 2 sandwiches, the guy said, "I don't know, depends on your taste buds - I've never had dinner with you." which was funny but he didn't offer any sort of explanation of either and wasn't super helpful. read more

A good Thursday night for me and my family is when you see that gorgeous Kermit green food truck parked in San Lorenzo (on Hesperian and Paseo Grande). The "Grillaz" are friendly, funny, charming and hard working. They take pride in serving G FANS, and cheesesteak sammy lovers: hot, kind portions of well seasoned beef, onions on a warm toasted roll. Never forgetting to ladle gooey cheddar cheese sauce with Philly-CAL love. As a pescetarian, I didn't indulge, HOWEVER my eyes, and my family did. I have to show respect to the LOADED FRIES, BA-NANAS! Or as I fondly like to call them, "G Fries". Of course, I have a pic of the delicious, naughtiness of steak cut fries, cheddar cheese sauce, sour cream. Wait for it......sprinkled with green onions and BACON! I had to be apart of all of this goodness. I tried the Portobello Vegetarian, it was spicy, I enjoyed it. Although, I would have liked a bit more white American cheese, hold the garlic. Totally worth 10 + dollars, not bucks (lol). SO WORTH Checking out their website to stalk their next location, and menu. You are welcome!!! read more

This is a philly cheesesteak / sandwich truck. Each sandwich is bout 9 bux and for a buck u can add fries. Id prolly suggest u add fries cuz 9 bux for a sandwich is kinda ridiculous. Then again I have paid like 12 bux for an Ike's sandwich so maybe im pullin a double standard here cuz this place doesnt really hav the rep to be pullin 9 dollar sandwiches... Food: We got the flying pig cuz it sounded the most unique. Its got chicken, ham, bacon, cheese, n pineapple. Imagine kind of like a terriyaki flavor. It was good but I think 7-8 bux woulda been a fair price. Overall, Id suggest goin wit a friend so you can split sandwiches n try multiple flavors. While i feel the portion size wasnt quite there for the price, i did enjoy the flavors of the sandwiches. With that bein said if i ever dropped by again Id prolly go for the Chicken Bacon Ranch or the Bbq bacon sandwich. read more

Our family friend recently hosted a big party for their daughter and had the Grillaz Gone Wild food truck come to their house. Flying Pig: This sandwich seems to be their most popular and after trying it, I can see why. This was most definitely my favorite out of everything that I tried. The sandwich is loaded with chicken, bacon, ham, pineapple, onions, sweet chili sauce, green onions, and white american cheese. Everything in this sandwich came together perfectly and they really created a great combination here. The saltiness of the bacon and ham complimented the sweetness of the pineapple and chili sauce. I would highly recommend that if there is only one thing you can try, pick the Flying Pig. 5/5 Fish and Chips: I also tried the fish and chips. I don't think you can expect a classic fish and chips from a food truck as this seemed more like a larger version of fish sticks. The batter was pretty dense and thick, where it usually should be lighter and more airy. Overall, there was just too much batter and I ended up taking it off and just eating the fish by itself. 1.5/5 Mushroom Swiss: If you like really, really, REALLY like mushrooms, then this is the sandwich for you. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of mushrooms, but this sandwich was just overwhelming. Every single bite just tasted like mushrooms and cheese, and not in a good way. Just a dominating flavor of salty mushroom and cheese that definitely did not make me wanting more. 1.5/5 read more

I like it tho, but due to it is a food truck or street foods I would expect for cheaper prices, which was $9 for flying pig and $8 for Philly cheesesteak. I found out people were unhappy with their lone line for waiting; however, I didn't wait for too long. It probably took me about 15-20 mins from lined up to get my food. The Philly cheesesteak was nothing special for me and actually the meat was tab bland. All I remember was a lot cheese flavor and no meat taste. The flying pig has grilled chicken, ham, bacon, pineapple, white American cheese, and onions, which was great flavors even though i think the sauce was overpowered the meats. If they can lower prices a little bit and that will be awesome. read more

11/4/15 (update): Been a while since I had this, but they had a new special today, and did something cool so I figured I should share... 1. Chicken Garlic Mushroom (daily special) $10 (add tax, if use credit card?): It's their style--humongoid and packed with meat. The chicken is really tasty and moist--not overcooked or dry at all. As I chowed down, plenty of juices just keep dripping from my huge sandwich onto the paper container. This is meat at its best. The white cheese and mushroom also add even more moisture and make kinda a sauce--good stuff. I rarely get chicken in sandwiches, but when I do, this is a great choice! 9/10. 2. Fries:............. sooo..... no fries. Their fryer was broken. BUT.... they told me that since they couldn't give me the fries I could grab any soda I wanted FOR FREE! So I got me a Mexican Coca Cola and left happy. THANKS! How cool's that!? Awesome truck. 5/5 #truck #cheesesteak #philly #chickensandwich read more

Stopped by their food truck and saw steak fries on their menu. I asked the owner if it was steak fries or regular fries, he told me it was steak fries. I ordered them and asked for it to be crispy. I could tell he didn't give AF when I only ordered steak fries off his menu being that it's the cheapest item mind you it's $5. Any-who, owner didn't tell the cook to make it crispy, regular fries came out instead of steak fries. Didn't wanna argue since I had a meeting to run to. CANNOT believe GGW only has 3 1/2 stars, outrageous! I cannot believe how obsessed with these sandwiches I am... They are at the San Lorenzo Food Truck Mafia at Hesperian & Paseo Grande every Thursday from 5-9 which is where I will be every Thursday for the rest of my life. This place is insanely good, I have only tried the chicken sandwiches but the beef phillies look incredible too. The sandwiches are HUGE and so filling and stuffed with tender white meat chicken, perfectly grilled onions, yummy sauce and the freaking bread is on another level, its super soft with a good chew, it's absolutely worth the price! This truck was at Rock Wall last weekend. Long line? Oh, yeah, but the reason it was long was they are the s-l-o-w-e-s-t service I have ever experienced. We stood there forever, not moving an inch, as it appeared the two guys would take one order, make it (slowly), give it out, and then take another order. All changes in line length were due to people giving up. Not much food was coming out that window, either, it was not due to large orders. After we had waited SO long, we didn't want to bail on our time investment, so we stuck it out. Even after ordering an "original" with fries, it was a long wait to get them. I wish I had bailed. The beef was o.k., but the grilled onions were sparse, and there were no peppers on it at all (isn't that standard?) and, get this, they use CANNED CHEESE. You heard me...that sucky horrid gloppy canned "cheese" like on ballpark nachos (which I refuse to buy, because of that "cheese"). The fries were just OK, and there were only about 10 of them at the most. YUCK. Three of us had sandwiches, and we were all disappointed and didn't even finish eating them. Oh, yeah, count your change if you do buy here, the dude last weekend does not know how to count money. read more

Pretty good flavors, though in some instances the sauce overpowered the meats. Fries that came with were well cooked.
