I ordered three tacos and refried beans: *Tripas - this is one of my go too and the way I measure a great taco place, though a lot of places are overly crispy or overtired and oily. This might be my favorite tripas that I've had *Lengua - delicious and perfectly tender. This is my other go to, and my absolute favorite meat *Cabeza - this was fine, definitely very tender I feel like I have to go back because I ordered regular tacos, and my friend ordered the vampiro tacos (basically with fried gooey cheese), and she said hers were delicious, and I definitely want to try that!

Mainly due to my dad being hospitalized around the corner but each night we have come and tried different entrees and all have hit the mark. We have had their quesibirrias which are large and flavorful, the super burritos with a generous portion of meat, green enchiladas and great ratios of everything else. Ate so fast we forgot to take pictures. We have also had their street lengua tacos and while these were good they needed a touch more salt but were plentiful. They have a nice selection of agua frescas from pineapple to Horchata to Jamaica and Coke fountain products. Their chips are fresh tasty and free with plenty of salsas to satisfy every spice tolerance level from mild to hot! Finally we tried the churros which I dare say were a bit dangerous (must try but full of sweetness) so only had one! The location is modest in decor and size but a warm and friendly environment with a TV with the latest games on make up for anything modern. If you want to come and enjoy a great straight forward Mexican meal this is your spot!

So after 7 months of living in Castro Valley, I finally made time to give this place a try. Ive…read morebeen told by a lot of folks that the food here is delicious and judging from the line I saw when I came in, it looks to be the case. Note, this is more of a review of the taqueria attached to the market and not the market itself, though it looked like it had all the essentials. Meat wise, it's definitely missing my favorites but in this case, it's actually a good thing because it means I'll order things I dont normally order as much. I went with a chivo (goat meat) taco and a super carne asada (grilled steak) burrito. I also picked up a bag of chicharron con carne (pork cracklings with meat) and a side of refried beans. They lady that took care of me was super nice. I love places like this because it gives me a chance to practice my Spanish. What's so awesome about this place is that they are grilling the meats right in front of you, which makes me want to order everything. I took everything home to the family they all loved it. The steak was super juicy and it might be one of the better carne asada I had. Everything tasted super fresh. The chivo taco was very moist and delicious as well. As for the chicharrons, it's chicharrons, it's almost always going to be good and the beans, were delicious as well, wish I ordered some arroz on the side to go with it. I bought the pre-packaged chicharrons by the checkout but if you want yours a little warmer, you can buy at at the meat department in the back of the store. All in all, Im definitely coming back and looking forward to trying their other meat options like al pastor and barbacoa. Given how small their work space is and how busy they might be, be prepared to give some extra time, especially if you are like me and bringing the food back home.

The location has been consistent in delivering great food--I always get either their carnitas cheese fries or their barbacoa cheese fries with a bit of consommé (broth) added to it. Their cucumber limon agua fresca always hits, and I recommend their sandia fresca when it's available. Over the years, it's been a place where I have positive memories, as it carried my wife and me through tough days back in college. This was, and still is, a great and affordable meal that acts as both lunch and dinner due to how generous the portion is. The only caveat I have since trying the location after a few years of not stopping by is that they changed their French fries. I think right now they cut potatoes and deep-fry them, versus what it was before, where they were more "restaurant style" fries. The texture is slightly different; however, the flavor has been consistent and still tastes like what it was 10 years ago. A true hole in the wall--the only issue is parking can be quite hard to find, lol! Service is fast if you make it before peak lunch or dinner hours, haha! Love this place.

English and Spanish review…read more Alerta por danos a la salud.!!! . . . . Health alert Me and my girlfriend ordered tacos, chimichanga, and a quesadilla. When I finished half my quesadilla the other half had a hair clearly not mine, while my girlfriend was working on her chimichanga I slipped the hair away so she wouldn't be disgusted. But when she opened the order of tacos we discovered a red hair like the red hair on the lady that took and prepared our order. With all due respect we closed both orders and processed to ask for a refund. When I asked the lady with the red hair for a refund because there was a hair in both orders, she took both orders and than claimed there wasn't any hair on the food until I showed her pictures she proceeded to refund me for both orders. But she still claimed that she didn't find any red hair to imply that I was lying. We have proof in the pictures and my intentions are not to trash an honest business. But if she is willing to go into denial while refunding me my money it seems like she did this on purpose for us to not come back. An hour later I got the runns like if a had ingested a hair. The food is very good but the intentions and service from this establishment make me feel like the maybe im not welcome. Personally I won't be back because there far more taco spots 10× better with service, elaboration process, and care for the health of the client. Im not making any of this up to tarnish a business im only being honest.
